Hi, everyone. I'm going to keep my introductions simple. I'm Tectonix, and for the last few weeks, I've been planning a fan-fic of the likes that you probably haven't seen before. Therefore, I introduce "Converging Eras". Please give constructive criticism, but don't flame if you don't have a reason. I'll leave it at that.

PS: I don't bribe commenters with reps. That's really low.

[spoiler=Prologue: The Black Beyond Us (1/1)]

~~~~~
Space is a wondrous thing to achieve. The denizens of planet Earth had always thought of achieving contact with the black beyond as near-impossible, but in the last 40 years of human history, there has been plenty of pressure on them to expand. Climates changed, pollution levels rose, and many of the planet’s great monuments had simply been swept away with the tides. It was an unfortunate thing to have happened…
These thoughts, and many others, were going through the head of one particular human. The person in particular was a teenage boy, around 14 in age, who was staring out the window of a small, sleekly silver spacecraft that was bolting across the planetary orbits. Dressed plainly in a black vest and jeans, the major thing that stood out about him was his hair, whose blond roots slowly shifted to reddish tips. The boy was tired, and the flight’s early departure time had left him drained. However, his physical condition couldn’t suppress the thin feelings of anticipation that flickered in his chest. Looking around the ship’s cabin, he saw about 30 other children his age, all in various states of discussion and consciousness. He sighed, and pulled a small black box out of the messenger bag laid in front of him.
Well, he thought, you guys and I have been together through thick and thin. We’ve beaten tests and trials, and we’re almost at our goal.
As the boy finished this thought, the silver craft was slowly touching down on a forlorn-looking asteroid, floating around its brothers. The other passengers of the ship were awake by now, and were all shoving over each other to get a view of their sparse surrounding.
“We have finished the landing procedure now, so please put your seats into the upright position,” came a feminine voice over the spacecraft’s intercom. “Welcome to Kaiser Academy, students, your home for the next 4 years.”
The red-blond haired boy shook himself out of his thoughts and slowly got up, slipping the box into his bag and slinging it over his shoulder.
“Corwyn,” he silently spoke, “you’re going to be in for one hell of a ride.”
He didn’t know how true that statement was.
