Discussion: Secondary Characters

Personally I think they should bring misty back and nix the rest of the secondary characters.

They already got rid of Gary Oak, nearly removed Professor Oak from the picture completely (except for a few minor references and extremely small parts).

They've also nearly removed Officer Jenny (future Discussion) except for a few key episodes.

Team Rocket is no longer the bad guys that they were designed to be in the beginning (season 1) and Giovanni has had the same nix-ing as Gary.

I appreciate the change of the show, but its gone from being something all ages can enjoy to something strictly for the younger audience with plots that don't make sense, stupidity rather than a plausible base for humor.

Its just starting to get retarded with the secondary characters.

Don't even get me started on Carnivine, Mime Jr., Chimecho, Wobbuffet, and Croagunk.

They didn't even have to use Ash the whole time. After the Archipelago place ( that name escapes me), Ash became redundant. They should have used the hero from each of the games for each region (Ash is loosly modelled after the hero of the first games when he is in his origional outfit). They had the guy from the second gen show up the 6-episode miniseries spin-off thing (which I forget the name), but that was just for 2 episodes, and his starter (Cyndaquil) was already a Typhlosion. In my opinion, Ash is the worst trainer ever. His Pikachu, which he has had for 3 years in Johto, despite the fact that he is still 10, is as weak as it ever was; he only evolved 5 or 6 pokemon on his own; he abandoned all of his Pokemon as of Hoen and Sinnoh. The show is just getting too repetative.

The Rockets were great, I don't really watch the anime now Ash bores me and you can tell what will happen in each episode before its even started.

I liked having Gary in it, you need a good rival to appear every so often to mess up the balance, and keep them consistent (YOU HEAR THAT GX....(I mean Judai had Jun, Edo and Ryo as rivals....)

I liked having Misty in the series. My wife likes Dawn, primarily because she is real big into the Pokemon Contests like Dawn is.

Misty at least battled, plus water pokemon are probably my third favorite type of pokemon (first being grass and second being fire). With Staryu and Starmie on her team, she was a powerhouse of speedy water-pokemon, plus with the possibility of her Horsea evolving into Seadra (I don't remember if it ever did or not...I don't think so), she was possibly one of the better trainers (even though her and brock were both gym leaders).

I'm glad they finally got rid of May and Max. They were just irritating, same with Tracy. Those three didn't belong in the first place, and I'm glad they are gone.

I never saw the miniseries that you were talking about, I might have to go back through the archives and watch them over again, just to see what you are talking about.
