Bloodrun
Scratching isn't as difficult if you have some concept art to work with. If your trying to go for a prexistant creature, such as, lets say a horse.. its alot more difficult then you think. But if you aiming for a smiklburg, then thats easy, becuase there is no such thing, therefore no one would know how it looks. Brushfire
Well, if you have some kind of concept art to work with it makes it a lot easier, because you can look to that for help and ideas. Also, that art will have the colour palette that you could use for your sprite.Scratching is very hard; but it can be made easier with concept art and a funk load of practice. Poc
Zoom in on this image and you can see how I used grey scale shades to blend the black outlines into the white background, thats called anti-alising(Sp?). It makes things blend in a little better. I use the same method to blend different shades together and make everything look smooth. This is an older image and my technique has changed a bit but the concept is the same.
+Jono
Hey Poc, didn't you release a tut a while ago about Scratch Spriting? It's fairly simple, not that I can do it. You draw the outline without double squares, colour it in with a colour, shade it, put in lighting and, using a darker colour, retrace over the outline. Poc Teaches You to Pixel! Lazer Yoshi
Starting from scratch is MUCH harder than Splicing. However, Drawing Fakemon is a LOT easier then drawing splices on Pen and Paper.
