Pokemon Gyms

Dark

Recommended Posts

I was reminiscing over my old Pokemon games when I realized, all of the Pokemon games are the same. In three of the four regions, the first Gym is always Rock. In a few regions, they have the same Gym types, just in a differnt order. And I always wonder why Dragon-types are left for the Elite Four. What I am saying is that they should change around the Gym types and use the less known types like Bug, Ice and Ground. Please discuss.

Its the formula that makes up the gameplay and well....lets face it pokemon is a money maker and nintendo might be too afraid to change up the formula :/

Yah' date=' the last time they changed the formula I thought it was the werst pokemon game ever!

There was a Gym Leader in Gold/Silver/Crystal that used Dragon-Type Pokemon. The leader was Clair and it was the last Gym before the Elite Four. I forgot the name of the town' date=' though. Supposedly, the leader is affiliated with Lance of the Kanto Elite Four...

Clair is Lance's cousin & she was the final gym leader so it is fairer

That's what I thought. Thanks' date=' Raviel.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Gym that specializes in DARK Pokemon. If there is one, I cannot think of it right now. It has been a while since I played the older games. :(

Come to think of it,there's never a dark-type gym...only dark elite fours...maybe it shows that dark types are very powerful

Besides Umbreon, no, Dark types aren't powerful.

Houndoom has the Stats to be, but lacks the move pool.

They just look freaking creepy. =/.

Here is a short list of some good DARK Pokemon:

Umbreon

Honchkrow

Weavile

Houndoom

Tyranitar

Spiritomb

Absol

Mightyena

DARK Pokemon have more potential than people give them credit for...

fixed XD

and also, if it's the same, it's not really boring. it gives you an overal strategy in all the pokemon games

I could probably resite the gym types in each game from too much play. (E4 don't come as easy though, because usually I've done all the thinking before them)

Y/R/B/LG/FR - Rock, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Psychic, Fire and Ground

G/S - Flying, Bug, Normal, Ghost, Fighting, Steel, Ice and Dragon

R/S - Rock, Fighting, Electric, Fire, Normal, Flying, Psychic, and Water

D/P - Rock, Grass, Fighting, Water, Ghost, Steel, Ice and Electric

(And Plat change Ghost to before Fighting.)

Sad huh, usually there the same types with small changes, it is annoying when they can't think of enough pokes to make a true type team (like with Flint in the E4 for DP (not Plat))

Well with Drake and Lance the E4 is nice place to throw Dragons they just wanna make them seem hard. When if you remotely have Ice Beam its pointless....
