They live in poverty and struggle to survive. Julie becomes ill and needs Zayne's full attention. In order to do this he gives up on his favorite game, Duel Monsters. Zayne slowly drifts away from his friends, his grades drop and Julie is getting sicker and sicker by the Minuit. Julie's doctor tells Zayne that a new treatment has come out that could help his sister. Unfortunately it will cost over 300,000 dollars. Zayne feels hopeless as he tries to think of a way to get the money. Then one day Zayne is sitting on a park bench. He is drenched in rain. All of a sudden he sees a piece of paper blowing in the wind. He picks it up and reads aloud... Zayne: Join the best duelists from all over the world. Grand prize is 500,000 dollars. This is more than enough to help Julie. Girl: Hey you give me that back. *Three teenagers walk out. One girl and two boys.* Zayne: Oh I'm sorry hear you are. *He hands the paper to the girl.* Girl: Thanks. Do you like to duel. Zayne: Yes I did. Boy: Whaddaya mean did? Zayne: Well I stopped dueling about a year ago when my sister became sick. Girl: Oh, I'm sorry. Zayne: Don't be. Girl: I'm Yuki, nice to meet you. These are my friends Andrew and Alex. Andrew: Hello. Alex: Hey. Zayne: Nice to meet you I'm Zayne. Alex: Zayne... are you Zayne Hirohara? Zayne: Yes I am. Alex: Wow your famous to us street duelers. Zayne: Thanks but I'm not that good. Yuki: Are you kidding your the best. Please duel me. Zayne: Sorry but... Yuki: Please I'm begging you! Zayne: Well OK. Let me see if I still have my deck.*He pulls out a black case and opens it.* Zayne: Whaddaya no. Yuki: You have it? Zayne: Yup. So let's start. Duel *Yuki takes out a glove and puts it on.* Zayne: Whats that? Yuki: Oh I forgot you haven't dueled for a while. This is a duel blaster. Zayne: All I have is my deck. Yuki: OK Alex give me yours. Alex: Yup shore thing. *He tosses the duel blaster to Yuki.* Zayne: How do I use it? Yuki: It's simple, all you have to do is place your cards in these slots, aim, and fire. Zayne: Seems simple enough. Yuki: I'll start. *Draws her cards.* I'll play harpie lady in attack mode. Blast! (1300/1400) Zayne: Nice. *draws* I'll play UFO Turtle in attack mode. Blast! (1400/1200). Now attack Harpie lady. Zayne's LP-4000Yuki's LP-4000---3900 Yuki: That's alright plenty more were that came from. *draws* I summon Harpie lady number 3 in attack mode. Blast! (1300/1400). I'll end. Zayne: Smart but I Know her effect. If I attack I can't enter my battle phase for two turns. So I'll activate Tribute to the doomed! Blast! This lets me destroy your Harpie if I send one card from my hand to the graveyard. Now I summon Blazing inpachi. Blast! Now my monsters attack! Zayne's LP-4000 Yuki's LP-3900---650 Yuki: Damn you didn't fall for it. *Draws* I play Cyber harpie lady. Blast! (1800/1300) Next I'll use my tribute to the doomed. I'll discard this and destroy Blazing Inpachi. Next my Harpie will attack! Zayne's LP-4000---3600 Yuki's LP-650 Zayne: Clever. *Draws* I guess I'll defend with this. Blast! Yuki: You can't defend forever. *draws* Check out my sonic duck. Blast! (1700/700). Attack his face down. Zayne: You may have destroyed him but he's taking Harpie lady with him. Yuki: What? Zayne: My face down was Man eater bug! Yuki: No not that. Zayne: Yes he lets me destroy one of your monsters whenever he is fliped up. Yuki: Not fair! *Wines* Zayne: My turn. *draws* it's over I play dark fire soldier number 2. Blast! (1700/1100). Next I'll use black pendant. This raises my dark fire soldier attack to 2200! attack! Zayne's LP-3600 Yuki's LP-650---150 Zayne: Finally I'll play sparks! This inflicts 200 points of damage to you! Yuki: Oh no! Zayne's LP-3600 Yuki's LP-150---0 Yuki: Well you won. Just one thing why didn't you use UFO turtle's effect. Zayne: Huh? Andrew: Yeah his effect is when he's sent to the graveyard you can summon a monster with 1500 attack points or less.
