Tying up loose ends

Recommended Posts

Some of you may remember me, most of you may not.

I was here when we were celebrating 2000 members, now we're at 165000 or something like that...

I've been gone for a long time...

And this is the last you'll ever hear of me.

I'M REQUESTING THAT MY ACCOUNT BE BANNED.

This place was great, but, like I said, you'll never hear from me again, so there is no reason for my account to stay open.

Thanks.

Your old friend,

Shaco.

Wait, we're now banning people when they ask to be banned? Finally, that ridiculous banning-is-a-punishment-let's-encourage-people-who-want-to-leave-to-spam policy is gone.

Crab. I did what was best. I never knew this member but I believed his Motives were just. And you're right. People shouldn't have to Spam to be banned.

What was the inisial point of that rule?

Telling people to spam was the dumbest rule this forum ever had, even dumber than the no talking about draco rule, and thats saying something.

The point is that the banning system was created to be used solely as a punishment, not as something that can be given on request.

And yes, it is pointless. But it somehow won a vote on whether to follow it (but it was a close vote; 5-4, if I recall correctly). Falling favours it, which is big points in its favour when it comes to whether a policy gets followed.
