Nightmare Penguin and Adhesion Trap Hole

Recommended Posts

They're overlooked because they're bad.

Dude' date=' you can say that about every card, but that isn't the case here. Nightmare Penguin is a better GK Guard, and Adhession is a permanent Shrink.

The only reason anybody has ever run Gravekeeper's Guard is that they wanted a fourth Gravekeeper's monster to go with the 3 copies of Gravekeeper's Spy that they were using as a tribute engine. Nightmare Penguin has slightly lower DEF and, more importantly, doesn't have "Gravekeeper's" in the name. It's terrible.

Adhesion is a Trap instead of a Quick-Play Spell and is activated in response to summons instead of whenever-you-feel-like-it, meaning that it's slower when you want to use it immediately and unable to reverse the effect of your opponent's attack when you want to use it to surprise the opponent. Being "permanent" means nothing, since the ATK-halving effect is only ever used to reverse the outcome of one battle, and never needs to be used for anything else. It's terrible.

this and GK guard can be used for CCV and allure.

This, and Spellcasters have more support than Aquas.

Nightmare Penguin isn't that bad. It's like a more situational version of Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Adhesion Trap Hole is like a slower, more useless version of Shrink.

Nightmare Penguin is always outclassed by other options.

But he's not completely useless:).

He's not worth playing in comparison to a cavalcade of other vastly superior cards.

This reminds me of Atem's comment about The Tricky.

and what was that exactly?

I think the tricky is fine. a little weak for the discard' date=' but all in all, a reasonable card.[hr']

and on the two cards:

a) peg should not be played in almost all situations. star boy is a better choice for pump, and solideris better at releaving monsters of their front line position.

b) this is crap because you can destroy the trap, it only works when it is summoned, and doesn't force the monster to do something stupid, like attack or something.

Here's the quote:

There are better choices in every last matter of contention' date=' barring decks based around Lv5 or higher WIND Spellcaster-Type monsters.

There is no logical reason to run decks based around Lv5 or higher WIND Spellcaster-Type monsters.

[/quote']

Just about the same applies here. Unless you make the conditions absurdly specific, you never have any real reason to run the cards in this topic over the logical alternatives.
