But, the Phoenix betrayed the king and destroyed the kingdom. The Divine Phoenix turned into the Fiend Phoenix and was sealed in the very fabric of time. Now, 1,000,000,000 years later, the evil Master Hand has destroyed time and freed the beast. The Fiend Phoenix has the power to destroy the entire Cosmos. Now, Master Hand is manipulating the beast into destroying the Earth. But, with time lost, galaxies are collapsing and universes are colliding. Now, all the Smash Brothers must fight against each other to save their universes from the Fiend Phoenix.
