Ryu Kenji: The show's protagonist and Kado's true friend. He aspires to become a great duelist like his father. Ryu keeps a positive attitude throughout the series, insisting on dueling for fun as opposed to simply winning. He's brave, strong, and true but somtimes stubborn.

Kado Korekuta: One of Ryu's close friends. Even though he is an expert at the rules of "Yugioh," he's a terrible duelist, often going without a single win during a tournament. He's often seen with his portable laptop to keep track of important duels.

Sayuki Kamamoto: Another member of Ryu's posse. She appeared at first to be both ditzy and an inept duelist. But soon became an expert player. Sayuki is a nature lover, She uses mostly a deck of Giants and beast warriors.

Deck: Terra Giants

Triumph card: Earthstomp Giant

 

Yamiga Koshiro: A self-proclaimed "evil genius" and another of Ryu's rivals throughout the series. Other characters make fun of his outlandishly styled long hair and all-black leather outfit. He uses a Demon Deck. He has earned the nickname "Black Death", because of his relentless tactics. He became evil because people say he can not be a Master duelist.

Hikari Konamishi: As a child, she was a cheerful duelist like Ryu. Since then, Hikari has become a cold-hearted villain, as well as Ryu's central rival. Later in the series, he is defeated by Ryu and befriends him.

Deck:Celestial Angels

Triumph Card: Angel Lord, Hanusa

 

Kazemo Shiwari:A guy which dueled Ryu . He lost and they became friends. He uses a Wind attributted Deck. He has a Mysterious background story.

Deck:Winged Gale

Triumph card: Galias Bale the Gale Dragon

 

Enzan Koimaru: Enzan is Shobu's mysterious and soft-spoken mentor. Despite being Ryu's mentor, he is usually unable to assist his student in times of need due to either Ryu's stubborn attitude or Knight being unable to show up at the time.
