Pikachu
So in the near future, hot pots, barbeques and hot chocolates would not exist. Instead people eat ice cubes instead of drinking warm water Fridges will massively replace microwaves and heaters And most important of all, we all go to the beach
Cin
This year is a La Nina year and infact it has a global effect on weather not just causing certain temperature changes and different areas to have stronger 'extremes'. (El Nino is a reverse) Earth Temp naturally fluctuates, but it is usually influenced by Solar Activity (which it's broke from the cycle currently) and Volcanic Activity. Global Temperature usually follows the 11 year Solar Cycle, but temperatures never reduced when the Solar Cycle hit its Minimium.

Dictator7
It is there and we have to do something about it. But people aren't going to do anything. They say they will but they don't. If people make such a big deal over it, don't talk just do. Oh ya, recycling is a buch of garbage. My dad used to work in the township in a county in New jeresey. He was a trashman. He said that the trash all goes in the inferno. You know that horrible brown paper with blue lines that they sometimes hand out in school, well that is recycled paper. Don't make such a big deal out of recycling, because most of the trash is burned.

ragnarok1945
Same here. I remember the one summer I was in Seattle. During the evenings the temp is supposed to drop to the mid to high 60s, but that one summer it remained in the mid 80s, so obviously global warming is real
PrometheusMFD
*Ahem*First of all, it is a little pretentious to think that human's have enough influence in nature that something that animals have been exhaling for millions of years (carbon dioxide) can cause drastic change in weather patterns. Also, carbon dioxide does not influence temperature, water vapor does. And even if CO2 did, volcanoes and Oceanic vents pump out more carbon dioxide in a day than the human race will ever put out.Next, Global Warming hasn't truely been proven. You cannot prove something true unless you have seen it in nature then recreated it in laborotory conditions (this also explains why I don't believe in evolution) Since Global Warmin is weather based, and is said to not take place for another 20 years, you can not prove it true. And even if Global Warming was real, it would be phenominally good for the planet. Plants would thrive, deserts would become even greener, and all life will prosper. And don't say that the ice caps will melt, because they are completely uninfluenced by anything closer to the equater. The ic
ragnarok1945
On the contrary to the ice caps, they're actually melting much faster than they ever have before. About two years ago it was predicted that by 2030 virtually all of the north pole ice caps will have melted. Of course now we know it's longer than that, but still

ragnarok1945
It's ok, Sammidysam. Plenty of people these days are torn by this issue.
The Dark One
It's ok' date=' Sammidysam. Plenty of people these days are torn by this issue.[/quote'] Pretty much only people who don't know much about the issue are torn by it. It has been measured, the Earth IS heating up. This is denied by no one that has access to the facts. The Theory of Global Warming, which states that this increase in temperature is due to human influence (carbon dioxide, and quite a few other chemicals. And yes, Water Vapor plays a huge role too. Guess what, we release tons of that.), the the only part of the crisis taht is global warming that is even negotiable. Additionally, among scientists, the Theory of Global Warming is nearly universally accepted. The fact is, the ends meet up. The Theory makes sense. There just isn't significant known evidence against it. (Note the key word KNOWN. It is possible that we will end up being wrong, but unless such evidence comes up, it is logical to take preventative measures. However, in science, something can't be called a Theory unless it there is so much supporting evidence that the likelihood of it being proven wrong is insignificant.) ragnarok1945
Well put, Dark One. You know, I know a few of my friends feel the reason the Earth is heating up is due to the orbital pulls on it (in which one pulls it in a straight line and the other pulls it directly towards the sun, when the two forces are combined the Earth orbits around the Sun, and my friends thought the force pulling the Earth towards the Sun is slightly stronger, which it's not). You can pretty much on anywhere online nowadays and the articles can prove the Earth is heating up.
