Almost 1 Year...

I have been at YCM for almost a year and i asked. "What made me stay?" If i really just stumpled across this place i would have left without a care. I guess it just became part of my routine. Then i looked at photoshoped and remembered when i first got it. Im just going to leave it like this. Remember that day when you came home and your brother puked in the trash. Then the clam chowder from last night was put on top. Then the toilet wont flush. So where does everything go? Into the bag. That was my photoshop skills. And now you can remove the toilet and vomit. Its just old clam chowder now! Then i started to think, what even drew me here. Lol. It all started with a way to get MUGEN Characters(which is geting talked about ALOT now ,huh?) and i got Photoshopping skills, a place for entertainment (but its more like youtube last time i checked. Too much Drama.) and just a better grasp of things some things. Ive seen the fresh meat become mods, the failures, and i'm pretty sure i forever tarnished this site's name. (That Feburary was fun BTW) And thats just one year.....

Yeah, YCM was like, the best site ever back in 2007, wasn't it?

 

Let's go over some of the highlights:

 

>Bloodrun achieved 100 posts in a day, which was like, impossible back then. ;]

>Frunk was moderating.

>The Slime Lord was moderating.

>About all of the veterans were active and posting furiously.

>Everyone pretty much knew each other, and there were hardly any conflicts.

 

Yeah, those are just a few things that were off the top of my head.

 

I know there are a lot more points to be mentioned, but I don't want to create a list with like, five-hundred points.

 

I mean right now, things at YCM are still pretty nice, but in my opinion, 2007 was a better year.

December 31st at 7:00 p.m.(My time zone *Atlantic U.S.*) will be my 1-year on YCM.

 

I too am wondering what is making me stay here. I'll have lived a whole year where I

A: Joined a site.

B: Roleplayed in the most amazing story I've ever been in. (Rowan_TheWolfGod's After the Struggle RP)

C: Witnessed the tides of change as Darkthorne (Draco) was both banned and scorned by many (if not, then alot) of members here. Many of my most respected friends here (DJ-Osiris, Bloodrun, Raven, Jspamax, and Browarod, and Yankeefan) become moderators, even if one did leave us forever.

D: Obtained skills GIMP, still progressing though, haven't mastered yet.

E: Quit card making all together.

F: Watch alot of my friends leave here and never come back.

--And yet I still find ways to remain here. I am unsure of what it is keeping me here, but I no longer care. I may never find out the reason, but I doubt I'll ever care.

 

So yeah, you're not alone there Kaitou Kid.

I joined YCM quite a while ago. Before school got out last year. I stayed only cuz of Clariex during that time. Clariex is really a great friend, but then I endured my multiple leaving and returns on this site. I wasn't active for a while, then I become active again, but now I met some really great people and people who respect me like Yournothere. He's a great guy, also Meti, Haris, Dustin, Arekku, Lord Davok and all my other online friends are here. I could care less for the forum, I just like it for the nice people I meet.

I feel the same way. When I joined I only came to post new cards. But, after socializing I made like 5,000,000 friends. If the forum, however, was deleted, I would be lost on what to do, as I have no contact with anybody...

I feel the same way. While i may not be on as much as i used to if this ploce got deleted a little peice of me would die. Not the Drama that i love to watch. But the end of 2007 when things were at its best. No spamers, no drama, and just well fun. I would eventully move on though
