-Berserker-
I learnt spanish in just 1 year, and i was a baby. im still learning english, but some people don't notice it when i write. If i can master the english, i would be able to learn german more easily, but for now, i can only understand a bit of portuguese, french, italian, and 1 or 2 words of latin and greek, because all those languages are related to spanish. Learning japanese would be a total new experience.
RyanAtlus
Conclusion: Learning languages isn't paying of. There should be a language that is easy to learn for everyone in the whole world, because it contains elements from all languages. Hey what'd ya know? It has already been invented, but it died twenty-three seconds later.

Language isn't required to graduate high school. Unless you're talking about those mandatory Spanish lessons in Elementary. Those don't count. ragnarok1945
well maybe things have changed since then, but at any rate the point is you can't go through elementary, middle, and high school without learning a single foreign language (whether it counts from your POV or not is another matter)

It's not a requirement to graduate, and I know plenty of people who don't bother with it.Let me say that one more time, since you didn't catch it the first two times I said it either...language classes are electives. You don't have to take them to graduate.
ragnarok1945
ok fine, but many of my elementary and middle schools I know, foreign language was the only elective available, so everyone had no choice in the matter
