The_Prince_of_Death
ohh thats what that show was, I never watched it. when does it air?
ragnarok1945
that series ended in 2007, I think. Anyways, the point I'm getting at is some rich people will never see the poor (if they move into their family) as anything more than a strain on their money problems
The_Prince_of_Death
ok, I see. the rich people dont like to care for the poor people, especially the ones that live in their home.
ragnarok1945
not always. Some go by the "those who have the most should also give the most" saying. That's why there's so much donations to charity. But if you're going to adopt in a marriage, you should at least give the benefit of the doubt, if not sympathy
The_Prince_of_Death
true. adoption helps more than people think, but it also sometimes hurts the family that adopts.
ragnarok1945
well what family would want to give up their own child unless they had no choice?
The_Prince_of_Death
yes, but adoption can also make the adopting family suffer money wise.
ragnarok1945
yes' date=' but adoption can also make the adopting family suffer money wise.[/quote'] that's true, but some families will take it if it'll bring them another child. For example, you have a married couple who couldn't have any children (wife has some disease that prevented this). They'd be willing to sacrifice a little money for a child of their own, even if adopted
The_Prince_of_Death
true, but it also depends on the age when you adopt the kid, if its still a baby then there goes over $3,000 on diapers.
ragnarok1945
that's still a small price to pay for a blessing

ragnarok1945
Other times it is initially a liability problem at the beginning
The_Prince_of_Death
true, I have a friend that was adopted into a family and according to them he was a liability but in the end he was a great help.
ragnarok1945
you just have to spend some time with the family first. Normally given a few months (maybe up to 1-2 years) they'll grow to accept you
xzMasteRzx
Having a kid is not a blessing if you don't know how to take care of it. Besides, IN MY OPINION, having kids is horrible. They annoy you, critisise you, and don't respect you. *Cries becuase of a horrible memory* (not really crying)

You just have to lay down the rules for them. ragnarok1945
Hmm' date=' true in most cases.[/quote'] I admit there's plenty of cases where the end result is the kid saying "You screwed me up", but that depends on how well the parents can tell if their standards are considered too old fashioned or not, and if it is, if they're willing to change their ways
The_Prince_of_Death
yes, too bad the old ways also pass on to the kids. then when they have kids they do almost the exact same as their parents did to them.

It's the same concept in marriage: you just have to listen to what the other person says

Icy
Lolz. I love how this "debate" has been going on. Its just sad... Popular Definition is a phrase, used when something has a definition commonly used for a definition outside of its original intent. Like on that is used in Slang. This holds true for Marriage as well. It has drifted far from its original purpose. Such as tethering a person to another legally, and bound to them by law. For various purposes, giving many benefits in the process. This also allows a documented LOVE between 2 people. And while many know that their love is eternal or otherwise, having it documented is a welcoming feeling. Knowing that even through death or separation, that person will always be there in some form. Is it needed? Depends. Is it wanted? Depends. Can this debate move further? No.
