Before any of you say anything' date=' I am only back here for this. I got an E-Mail from one of my buds here saying that Mr. Triangle Person here was talking about some dude from MyBB Central offering to buy this site.

 

I do have something to say.. If the dude was offering, then why didn't he just PM Ycmaker on MyBB Central? [b']YCMaker might not sign on.[/b] Why didn't he make an account in the first place if he's as great as you say he is, Mr. Triangle Person. I don't know. For someone as great as this, Labrocca, he sure doesn't think all that much ahead. Perhaps he wanted me, a member of the forum to request. I don't know. If I were him, I would actually make an account here and post a thread inplace of this one. Well, you're not.

Don't you dare doubt Labrocca's Administrating ability. Labrocca will doing nothing but improve the forum' date=' and at least he'll be active and communicate with the community. YCM is not a nice friendly community, it's just a shitty spamhole, hence why I left. YCMaker never does anything, and no he isn't doing anything secret because neither the forums or Card Maker is never updated. Labrocca, however, is f***ing awesome and [b']knows how to run his forums.[/b]

Exactly, he knows how to run HIS forums. This forum, is totally different then say, his hack forum, or MyBB Central.

Well, he's had experiencing Moderating forums was my point. You have a fair point too, though. I'm sure that (if) he needs any help then you (the Staff Team) could help him out. I'm not even sure that YCMaker knows how this forum runs, considering he comes on for an hour a day and never posts. =/

To address some issues.

 

1. A thread at Mybboard was made about this site and how the owner seems absent. I sent the OP of that thread a PM saying I might be interested in acquiring the site.

 

2. I been a lurker here for a couple years. I may have even offered to buy the site in the past as I would love to own this site. If memory serves me the owner wasn't at that time interested in selling. I may be wrong because I do make offers on sites fairly often.

 

3. I am more than capable of running this forum. Past forums I have created include pspforum.com, talkvideogames.com, democracyforums.com, animalcrossingforum.com and talknintendo.com all of which are no longer owned by me. I currently own and created these forums:

http://www.webmasterforums.biz

 

I also own many other domains, sites, and forums but I am not going to name them all here. The point is that I have been doing this for over a decade so experience is not a problem.

 

4. I have 2 sons ages 13 and 10. They love Yugioh. I took my son to a couple tournaments even. It was cool my wife plays with him occassionally but honestly I haven't played the game. I understand it though and do understand how it's played. Running a forum though is more about managing the community well not just knowing the genre but I do know enough about Yugioh to be a part of this community.

 

5. I didn't ask the OP to start this thread. I wasn't aware how well he knew the owner.

 

6. If the owner is interested in negotiating for the site we can do that. I don't see how he is making a lot of money here but value is always decided by the seller. If we don't come to terms we don't do a deal.

 

7. Every forum is different. The community would have to be monitored by me for a time until I decided what changes I would make. Some of the things I look to do is make users happy, raise activity, and review policies (rules).

 

8. I write my own mybb plugins. This forum would be great for many of my plugin ideas. For example I have a Match Rank plugin recently released which allows for match reporting and ranking on the forum. It's released as a beta for now but this site would be amazing to use and develop it further.

 

9. For what it's worth... "new administration sounds like a fail sandwich. with aids and cancer with a side of niggatree." That would get you banned if I owned this place. I wouldn't allow racism in any form here. I would also concentrate on quality posting instead of spammy garbage which I really hate. So if you make 100 posts a day and they are worthless...you wouldn't last long with me as the owner.

 

I am not trying to be an arsehole here but thought to answer some questions. IMHO the owner of this site is probably unlikely to sell but he knows where to find me if he is interested in discussing it further. I am a busy guy. It's not going to bother me if he doesn't ever reply or contact me. If a deal happens well...it does.

I agree with you saying that the Administration at this website is not up to par, but an Admin cannot control a website all by his/herself. There are Moderators and Super Moderators to deal with any issues to arise, you as an Admin must ADMINISTRATE, not MODERATE. Just my 2 cents on this.

I am not looking to sell this site, and have never intended to do so. I'm sure labrocca does a great job administrating his forums, using his own methods, but every forum is different and requires a different skill-set. In addition, this site is more than just a myBB forum - the card maker is the main attraction, something that would most likely cease to be developed. Originally the forum was meant only to complement the card maker; of course, it's evolved into something much bigger of its own since then.

 

Edit: I didn't see labrocca's post. Thanks for your interest in the site, you've done some great work on the forums that you own (mybbcentral in particular has been a great resource for me). As I said before, I'm not interested in selling the site, but I appreciate the offer and wish you the best of luck in your online endeavors.
