My Resignation From Cardmaking

Note that I did not know what other Forum(s) or Thread(s) to place this in, and since this contains no cards what-so-ever, I did not bother for the CC section. It does not belong in the Leaving and Return Thread, so I settled for the General section. =)

 

I have been a member in YCM for a very long time now. And one thing I learned is that cardmaking is a lot of the experience here. Getting OCG fixes, entering contests with your new card, Holoing, cropping, and the list goes on. You hone in on many abilities when you make cards. But sadly, I grow bored of making them. The strenuous work of making a 50-card set, perfect OCG, excellent pictures and whatnot has taken too much of a toll on my personal life. Even making a measly 4-card set bores me.

 

Cardmaking is fun to most people, but for me, I got really bored of it. Now, I will not stop making cards at all. When I finally find a good Hentai site, dA artist or Photobucket picture, I will obviously make a single, solitary card. I will probably enter some contests if I run low on points or just want to annihilate my competition. But making even a 3-card or 4-card set makes me bored and I don’t feel like doing it.

 

I will be taking place in 1-on-1 contests, making 1 card at a time and even hosting some contests. But I will discontinue making sets of cards. I don’t know why I am complaining to the YCMembers, since I will most likely be spammed for flamed from this. But I could really care less.

 

Again, I am resigning from card making, and no, I do not have a farewell card. ;) I guess I am growing bored of cardmaking, soon I will grow bored of the Forum itself, and I will eventually quit and make my own Forum. But let us take one step at a time, and for now, I have quit making sets of cards altogether. Who knows, maybe I may have an archive of cards later on.

Do what I do. Make the odd card but pool all of your resources into that one card. This was the reason I stopped Pokevolution. People were demanding a lot from me and I didn't have the time for it. Also no need to feel bad retiring from making Sets, the creative juice always flows more smoothly and freely when focussed on one thing, a well known J-Max fact for you ^_^

That's exactly how I feel, except for people pressuring me. I really want to make a set, but I can never seem to find a time, and making 1 card at a time is just too boring. Making one card at a time is more fun, and you gain more knowledge that way. ^_^

Exactly, lol. Glad to know that you understand. Also there are a few members on YCM (Including myself) who would be more then happy to help with Fleshing out effects or helping with OCG. Think of the CC People as a Family lol. Sorry to get all Mushy but I feel like that at times, I wouldn't be here today without the help to improve the way I design.

You know what J-Max? You have inspired me to make a nice card today. Even though I have resigned, it does not mean I cannot enjoy myself and waste 15 minutes making a perfect card. ^_^

i am sorry to see you have stopped Card making.
