I'm not talking about really gigantic ones like the Megatherium. I'm talking about animals of the size of a bear, like the Milodon. There are places where they can still exist, like the glaciers in the frontier of Argentina and Chile. Also, here in Paraguay we have a myth about a similar animal, the Ao Ao (the same name that the regular sloth). The Ao Ao is suposed to be a huge animal, with fur like a sheep and long claws. The difference with the giant sloths is that the Ao Ao is said to be a flesh eater, that also eats humans. but that part maybe is just invented because of the fear people had of such a monstrous animal. Night Posted February 14, 2009 Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 oh kewl thats a good theory but mines is better Theory: i think that a long time ago when the dinosaurs died because of the ice age, the loch ness monsters (aquatic dinosaur) traveled to the bottom of loch ness and lived in the underwater caves (many). Then after the ice melted away they tried to go back to the sea but they were closed in because loch ness over the years did actually close so they just stayed here but they started to die out because they needed the sea but then they started to adapt to the new area.
