Mr. Judgment Dragon
As well as being summonable by REDMD, Trade-Inable and Allureable, it can also be summoned when a Counter Trap is activated by you. Add to that the fact it has a nice 2800 ATK.
Chevalier
On the REDMD Deck Contest:What Counter Traps would you run in Hopeless? To add on, Horus has 3000 ATK, is summoned by REDMD and has decent enough effect because it will be hard to get rid of him without activating at least 1 Spell. He's also Trade-In and Allure bait. Mr. Judgment Dragon
What Counter Traps would you run in Hopeless? Solemn Judgment. He's also Trade-In and Allure bait. Dark Horus by himself doesnt give enough targets for 3 Trade-Ins.
~ P O L A R I S ~
As far as Trade-Inable Allurable Dragons go, this is how I'd rank them. 1. Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End (BANNED)2. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon3. Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord4. Dark Horus5. Tri-Horned Dragon6. Gandora the Dragon of Destruction7. Victory Dragon (BANNED) There're 7 of them so far, and 2 are Banned, the others Unlimited. Dragon Lord and Dark Horus are by no means the only Level 8 DARK Dragons. REDMD itself, Tr-Horned, and Gandora can also be used, and Tri-Horned has the advantage of being Vanilla, thus gaining all Vanilla support. Van'Dal is better than Horus due to its better effect. Van is triggered by Counter Traps, and Horus is triggered by Quick-Plays and opp Spells, but Van's actual effect is much better, SPecial Summoning itself and getting an extra cheapshot on top of it. Horus just gets an LV4 DARK monster. EXACTLY LV4. =/
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
2. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon Lol. Redrum is trade-able? But Van is > Dark Horus; I've never had a good opportunity to use the latter's effect.

Guest PikaPerson01
To further expand on my point, any deck that mains a ridiculous amount of counter traps to make Vandy NOT be a dead draw is almost always definitely going to be anti-meta, which means it's already running Royal Oppression. Not to say Dark Horus is better in a standard deck, it fills it's niche somewhere. Even in the niche deck Van'Dalgyon started in it's bad.
GenzoTheHarpist
Van'Dalygon may be bad but that doesn't mean Dark Horus is better. All Dark Horus is good for is having an extra 200 ATK, Van'Dalygon on the other hand might occasionally put his effect to good use.
Tabris
In Hopeless: Dark Horus is better. Non-Hopeless: Both suck.
Chevalier
All Dark Horus is good for is having an extra 200 ATK You're completely right, it's not like you're opponent will need Spells to get rid of a 3000 attacker.
Felix
I'm not entirely sure how he works in Meta because, well I don't know how Meta works. However he seems to have the same jump out and slap things surprise as "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness". This is probably somewhat irrelevant but I still thing they're similar. The Counter Traps serve as another outlet for Special Summoning along side REDMD. That's why I won that little REDMD Deck Contest.
