My....2 card set? lol.

I wanted to create a card that was pretty much solely for defending, and one solely for attack.

Eh, this is what I came up with.

I might have smudged the OCG a bit on them, but I don't think I screwed up anything major.

The are a bit.....over the top, effect-wise. And probably combo with some card I've never heard of, and become super OP. Oh well.

Meet....
If this card is Special Summoned, treat it's original DEF as 0. When this card is Normal Summoned, increase your Life Points by 100 for every monster you control. During your Main Phase, increase your Life Points by 200. When your opponent selects this card as an attack target, toss a coin and call it. If you call it correctly, negate the attack. If this card is destroyed by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, increase your Life Points by the total number of Set Spell and Trap Cards on the field x100.
22767de1.jpg

This card gains 400 ATK for each monster, and 100 ATK for every Set Spell and Trap Card. This card gains 200 ATK for every card in your hand. During your Draw Phase, pay 100 Life Points to keep this card on the field. If you cannot, this card is destroyed. When you declare an attack with this card, pay 300 Life Points. Battle Damage this card inflicts to your opponent's Life Points is doubled.. When this card declares a direct attack, halve it's ATK until the end of the Damage Step. When this card battles a monster, decrease the ATK and DEF of the opposing monster by 300. When this card is destroyed, inflict damage to both players' Life Points equal to the total number of cards on the field x200.

each, not every

"keep this card on the field" = not needed

"Battle Damage this card inflicts to your opponent's Life Points is doubled."

Yeah a few wording problems on the second one. Almost too many effects too, someone dueling with it would have to keep on reading it over and over and over...@_@

As far as I can see though, they are perfectly balanced and I can't think of any cards they work unacceptable with. Good pics, effects, etc. The usual stuff.

8.8/10

They both seem fine to me. As far as the second card goes, I would hardly consider it overpowered. It requires you to maintain a decent sized hand and play poorly (overextend on the field) to maintain any huge ATK power. Regarding the opponent, it punishes them for overextending which I find perfectly acceptable.

Well, balanced... most definitely. Both cards have such miniscule LP changes, and both position themselves so that they can get destroyed in battle just like any other monster.

However, useful? I think not.

In order to get the LP with a Normal Summon of "Lucille", you need to put her in Attack Mode, and just hope that you call all the coins right during the Battle Phase so she doesn't get her butt kicked... remember that it's a 50/50 chance with the whole "call the coin" thing, so 2 monsters would statistically be able to take her out. Of course, the first effect isn't that helpful. However, when "Lucille" is in face-up Defense Position, she's a powerful wall against opposing attacks... though she's not resistant to any S & T effects, so she can die pretty easily too. What's to "balance" that? Well, every MP you gain 200 LP, and when she dies by S & T effect, you gain 100 LP per S & T card on the field! Well, it does balance the card a little (assuming the best advantage situation, you could probably gain a lot of Life Points!), but that whole circumstance is unlikely to happen... besides, "D-Hero Defender" is only 100 DEF points away from hers, is associated with a card set, and takes NO sacrifices... he seems like more the optimum choice to me.

"Karrok" ain't so helpful either. I WOULD comment on him, but it's sleepytime, so I might come back later, or I might forget. Regardless, way to balance those cards! Just work on the wording (OCG, pu;nc...tua'tio-n, and speling) and the actual usefulness of the card, and soon you'll be a regular master!

it just seems like a bunch of effects crumble toghter..... it does not flow..

and the second is ov'pw with the "duble damage" effect....

second card:

"if this card attacks directly' date=' halve the damage"+"this card does double damage"=cancel out eachother..... which means it really inflict just the atk of this card...

4/10

[/quote']

It would double any damage done via destroying a monster, while not allowing it to do like 6k damage on a direct attack.

Bold point 1: Huh? Can't I summon it in face-up Defense Position? >_>

At least, that's what I've always believed...

point 2: I resent you saying I have spelling errors. I may have OCG errors, but I do not make spelling mistakes. Mainly, it's because Firefox has a built in spellchecker. But the fact remains. And you spelled 'spelling' wrong, btw.

I thought my punctuation was pretty good too...

Well anyway, thanks to both of you for the reviews.

reading the cards again, i realize something......... youre ocg are horribly wrong...

This card gains 400 ATK for each monster, and 100 ATK for every Set Spell and Trap Card. This card gains 200 ATK for every card in your hand. During every Draw Phase, pay 100 Life Points to keep this card on the field. When this card is destroyed, inflict damage to both players' Life Points equal to the total number of cards on the field x200.

bold area: it doesnt specifiy that double damage is done when destroys a monster.. its just that this card does double damage..... and as i say before, the second portion of the effect cancels out by the first...

If this card is Special Summoned, treat it's original DEF as 0. When this card is Normal Summoned, increase your Life Points by 100 for every monster you control. During your Main Phase, increase your Life Points by 200. When your opponent declares an attack, toss a coin and call it. If you call it correctly, negate the attack. If this card is destroyed by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, increase your Life Points by the total number of Set Spell and Trap Cards on the field x100.

bold area: this can be overpower... (a 50-50 chance scrap iron)... cause it doesnt specify that if a monster declare an attack on this card...

and again....... ocg needs major editing..

Battle Damage is , according to yugioh.wikia, "Battle Damage is the damage to Life Points sustained from a battle involving 2 monsters on the field or from a monster attacking directly. Also, if a card prevents Battle Damage from being done to monsters, they can't be destroyed in battle, but Battle Damage is applied normally. "

As opposed to my specified direct attack, which it would halve. So when it destroys a monster, the damage is doubled. Otherwise it doesn't. I admit it could be worded better, but it isn't an OCG error. The OCG is still correct.

For the second point: That was an oversight on my part. Thank you for catching it. But again, no OCG error.

I'm pretty sure I said somewhere up there that the point of the halving effect was to prevent it from doing 6k direct damage.

and as for rewording....... im not the best... but at least to me it makes more sense..

During every Draw Phase, pay 100 Life Points. If you cannot, this card is destroyed. Pay 300 Life Points each time this card declares an attack. This card gains 400 ATK for each monster(s) on the field other than this card, 100 ATK for each Set Spell and Trap Card(s), and 200 ATK for each card(s) in your hand. When this card battles a monster, decrease the ATK and DEF that monster by 300, and Battle Damage that this card inflicts to your opponent's Life Points is doubled. If this card declares a direct attack, halve it's ATK until the end of the Damage Step. When this card is destroyed, inflict damage to both players' Life Points equal to the total number of cards on the field x200.

i added the 'other than this card'..... but thats what you intended, you can remove it....

about the 'pay 100 lp every draw phase'... i didnt know what you mean by that.....

you must also pay lps during opponent's draw phase (every)???

or just your draw phase (each of your)??

If this card is Special Summoned, its original DEF is treated as 0. When this card is Normal Summoned, increase your Life Points by 100 for each monster(s) you control. During your Main Phase, increase your Life Points by 200. When your opponent declares an attack on this card, toss a coin and call it. If you called it correct, negate the attack. If this card is destroyed by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, increase your Life Points by the total number of Set Spell and Trap Cards on the field x100.

maybe this is better..... who knows...

This thread lacks pretentiousness, which means that I need to post.

Now:

Anyone who considers the first card overpowered is retarded. Ohnoes, a fifty-fifty chance of a Scrap-Iron Scarecrow effect. The horror.

The second card is balanced, especially since it requires both conservation of advantage and extension in order to do any good. You'd usually be better off equipping Mataza the Zapper with a couple of buffs like Axe of Despair anyhow.
