Recommended Posts

Morphtronic Remocon

Level 3

Earth/Machine/Tuner

ATK/DEF: 300/1200

● While in Attack Position: Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 "Morphtronic" monster from your Graveyard to add 1 "Morphtronic" monster with the same Level from your Deck to your hand. ● While in Defense Position: Once per turn, you can send 1 "Morphtronic" monster from your hand to the Graveyard to add 1 "Morphtronic" monster with the same Level from your Graveyard to your hand.

Morphtronic Videon

Level 4

Light/Machine/Effect

ATK/DEF: 1000/1000

● While in Attack Position: This card gains 800 ATK for each Equip Card equipped to it. ● While in Defense Position: This card gains 800 DEF for each Equip Card equipped to it.

Morphtronic Scopen

Level 3

Light/Machine/Tuner

ATK/DEF: 800/1400

This card gains the appropriate effect based on its Battle Position. ● Attack Position: Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Morphtronic" monster from your hand. The Summoned monster is destroyed during the End Phase. ● Defense Position: While this card is face-up on the field, it is treated as a Level 4 monster.

Junk Box

Normal Spell

Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Morphtronic" monster from your Graveyard. The monster Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed during the End-Phase of this turn.

Double Tool D&C

Equip Spell

Equip only to a "Power Tool Dragon" or Level 4 or higher Machine-Type "Morphtronic" monster you control. ● During your turn: The equipped Monster gains 1000 ATK. When the equipped monster attacks, negate the effect(s) of the defending monster during the Battle Phase. ● During your opponent's turn: Your opponent cannot select a monster you control as an attack target, except the equipped monster. Your opponent's monster that battles with the equipped monster is destroyed at the end of the Damage Step.

Morphtronic Repair Unit

Equip Spell

Activate by sending 1 “Morphtronic” monster in your hand to the Graveyard, and selecting 1 “Morphtronic” monster in your Graveyard. Special Summon the selected monster to your field and equip this card to it. The equipped monster cannot change its Battle Position. When this card is removed from the field, destroy the equipped monster.

Morphtronic Bind

Continuous Trap

While you control a face-up "Morphtronic" monster, Level 4 or higher monsters your opponent controls cannot attack or change their battle positions.

The 2 new tuners for Morphtronics/Deformers are amazing and can help put the theme to a competitive level, in my opinion. Remocon is pretty good but Scopen is godly for the theme making for quick Level 7-8 synchros. Obviously, this was meant for Power Tool Dragon but nuking the field with Black Rose Dragon is also a possibility. Videon is pretty useless but makes a good beat stick in combination with Double Tool D&C.

Junk Box is a high utility card to getting Morphtronic effects to be more consistent but really this card is meant for quick and consistent Synchro summons.

Double Tool D&C is so-so at best in dedicated builds. You can tutor this card with Power Tool Dragon, which can help thin your Deck. Equipped to Power Tool Dragon makes it a good beat stick and with it's own effect you can destroy whatever attacks this card and use Power Tool's effect to protect itself. Equipped to a Mophtronic and a face-up DEF Boardon you can essentially protect your Morphtronics during the battle phase. Until your opponent drops DAD, however, against GB's this delays them significantly as they'll have to try to protect their monsters long enough until they can drop Gyazarus but a 1000 ATK boost will make that difficult for them. The only thing you'll need to worry about is your opponent dropping Test Tiger or Rescue Cat. LS only outs are Celestia, JD, or Ryko.

Morphtronic Repair Unit is pretty much premature burial for Morphtronics and tutorable making it an excellent target for Power Tool Dragon's effect. Quick Syncs or getting morphtronic def effects to be more consistent. Not a bad card at all.

Morphtronic Bind seems like the best card for Morphtronics as it's essentially a one-sided Gravity Bind. It's a better battle phase lock down then whatever D&C can provide and lets you get the ATK and DEF effects safely. This seems like a must have card for any morphtronic user.

Overall, the new cards look like they've given the theme a tremendous boost and I'm one of the people who were skeptical with the theme but now I'm very interested in building a deck around these guys.

Deformers had a pretty select following but for the longest time I kept hearing that they had serious potential with the cards they got from Crimson Crisis. I was really skeptical after reviewing the cards but I'm starting to see the appeal to them.

I think what was holding them back was their lack of a tuner since they had field swarming and OTK possibilities but the addition of 2 tuners and lots of SS capabilities it seems they have the tools to start seeing more play.
