Skyson
ATK points are a large factor in this card game, obviously. But where does one draw the line between "broken" and "useless" when a monster with high ATK has an effect that makes it less effective? I like pushing these risk-reward type cards, and I made two cards to demonstrate. [spoiler=Effect]This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set unless you reveal this card in your hand to your opponent during your Standby Phase. When this card is revealed from your hand, your Life Points become 200. Any Battle Damage inflicted by this card becomes 0 unless you discard 2 cards from your hand when this card would inflict Battle Damage to your opponent. [spoiler=Effect/Image Credit]This card cannot be Summoned or Set from your hand or Graveyard. If this card is removed from play, you can Special Summon it to your side of the field by Tributing monsters from your side of the field with a total ATK equal to or higher than 4300. You must control at least 2 face-up FIRE monsters to inflict Battle Damage with this card. Image Credit: Wolf's Image Archive [spoiler=Effect]This card cannot be Summoned unless you send all Spell and Trap Cards you control to the Graveyard. When this card is Summoned, declare 1 Attribute. Reveal the top 5 cards of your Deck. This card loses 1000 ATK for each card that is not a Monster Card with the declared Attribute. The revealed cards are then shuffled back into your Deck. Your opponent receives no Battle Damage from monsters you control with a DEF of 1000 or less. The first art comes from Wolf's Picture Thread, and the second image comes from another Image thread that was on this forum a long time ago, I really don't remember the name of the thread, and I can't find myself directly naming the topic in my post log, but it came from an Image Archive thing, so yeah. Constructive criticism is appreciated. I'm working on a few others, but I thought I'd throw the first idea cards up for public comment.
Lord Smeagle
I like this concept. You planning on making a set out of them?
Skyson
A mini-set or something. I had a plan for some first-glance-broken Spells and Traps as well. I've recently become a fan of balance among custom cards, so I guess I'm making this "set" as a lesson for people who don't know how to balance cards. I'm also a little bit of an extremist with things like these, though, so more cards like these two are what I'm aiming for. It's fun.

Dweller of Parables
A set would be fine.Just don't overdue it.
J-Max
You have some major Skills :) These effects are very nice and balanced too.
Skyson
Haha Skill Drain bliss. I always think of Skill Drain when I attempt to do these. Hence the in-hand reveal for the first card, and the sending all Spells and Traps you control to the Graveyard for the second. The existance of Skill Drain seriously limits what I'm able to do as far as balancing effects because most of it has to be done OFF the field. >_> Thanks for the comments. Also a bump to the first page.

Skyson
And a bump. Thanks for the opinions. I don't have much time to be here today, so I'll bump it up and potentially add to this later. I think a Spell is on the rise, but I'm juggling ideas. Shiranui
Impressive. Your balancing skills are something to be envied... On a side note, these remind me of the 11000 ATK powered dragon Demented made awhile back but these are actually realistically balanced.
OMGAKITTY
Excellent. The limits you put on these things is almost ludicrous...and I'll admit, I like using that word, which is why I used it instead of something like "silly" or "ridiculous"but back on topic. I like how the cards have increasingly alarming amounts of attack as you progress downward... First card:I think the reveal the card part is rather creative. I'd never use this thing personally, but it looks fun. Second card:This thing has some ridiculous restrictions on it also. >_>Less risky, but much hard to actually use = good. Third card:You're potentially left with a 300 ATK monster that can't deal battle damage anyway? lol. [spoiler=I greatly approve of this thread]
Skyson
Third card:You're potentially left with a 300 ATK monster that can't deal battle damage anyway? lol. Or a 5300 ATK monster that can be buffed with Horn of Light and start swinging away for major Battle Damage! :O
Lord Smeagle
You could also run Yellow Luster Shield...
Guest JoshIcy
Still too easy to summon.Have them treated as effect monsters, no matter what.
Lord Smeagle
Add this text to all of them: "This card's effect cannot be negated." Mm'k?
