NOTE: Even though I am leaving YCM, I am subscribed to this thread, and will still post here.

For millions of years, the world was a bright and peaceful place, led by the Council of Immortals, a group of immensly powerful immortals who watched over the peace with care. They ruled benevolently, keeping the world safe for all who inhabited it.

1000 years ago, this peace was destroyed. The Council of Immortals banished Maenik from their ranks when they discovered he was not a true immortal, sealing him behind the Forgotten Door, and creating a weapon should he ever return, called the Crystal Blade.

One day, a young boy accidentally set Maenik free, and so he then set about raising an army to take over the planet.

In the war that followed, Maenik established his supreme rule over the world, disbanding and killing the Council of Immortals.

Since then, the planet has been held under his tyranical grip, oppressed and destroyed through his quest for greater power.

The training of mages is now severely stunted, being purposefully shortened to stop any challengers to the throne from arising.

But now, a small group has come, and they are searching for the key to Maenik's defeat, the Crystal Blade, and plan to end his horrible rule.

Name: Tao Ray

Personality: Very energetic and hyper, most of the time happy. He has a symbol on the back of his hand, which marks him as a citizen of his people, the Clemions. It glows when he feels angry or hurt, and glows when he uses magic. It is said that their special powers derive from the symbol.

Appearance:

Age: 16

Abilities:

Bow and Arrow- Tao weilds a magic Bow and Arrow, blessed by the Light. The Bow and Arrow were carried down by his ancestors, making it an ancient relic. When fired by a true "pure" soul, it generates magic within the Arrow, making it deal more damage and be controllable. The Bow and Arrow, when in possession of the wrong owner or an evil owner, disinergrates and reappears in the rightful owner's hands. The arrow, when charged, can pierce through enemies, but do not affect mortal humans.

Distortion of Light- His ancestors were believers in Light, and was what they praised. They had a special power, derived from their Great Ancestors, that allowed them to control Light in times of need. This power is respected and treated lightly, for if it is used for the wrong purposes, the power is taken away.

Distortion of Lightning- Adding on to the Distortion of Light, his people can also control electricity.

Staff of Power- His father gave him a staff, but right now has no purpose to him.

Name: Vince Granville (Known around the world as Let, not many people know his real name.)

Personality: His personality is basically happy and carefree. He lives a very charismatic existence and loves to try and help all who approach him for help...

Appearance:

Age: 28

Abilities: Being a "Battle Mechanic", Let has the ability to fix/upgrade absolutely any mechanical weapon. In battle he attacks with small machines at his side, but his main weapons are his own created weapons that he has named "Rikigaku".

Personality: Serious, risk taking, trustworthy and intelligent

Abilities: Because she is "risk taking", she has taught herself to jump from anyhight, she also has legendary blade skills.

Personality:Kind and caring for his friends

Lightning Hammer:He is the only one who can lift this hammer. Also because of this hammer he can fly if he wants to fly.

Lace

Abilities: Telekinesis, Illusion, Immortal, Spell Casting

Notes: Uses Telekinesis to fight with levitated swords, uses illusion to aid this. Found the last shard of the Crystal Blade and is now being hunted by Maenik. He is under the protection of Shipmaster Dahl, and is being trained by Zejj the Philosopher and Ninja Master Reijai. Is special in that he is the first immortal to be born in centuries.

 

Immortal Shipmaster Dahl

Abilities: Spirit Gun, Immortality, Spell Casting

Notes: Former member of the Council of Immortals, Mage of Spirits, was one of the mages who banished Maenik 1,000 years ago. Now protects Lace from Maenik Roq.

 

Ninja Master Reijai

Abilities: Telekinesis, Teleportation, Illusion, Alchemy, Spell Casting

Notes: Ninja Master who is good friends with Shipmaster Dahl. He kept the Shipmaster hidden and safe during Maenik’s rise to power. Is currently teaching Lace.

 

Zejj the Philosopher

Abilities: Teleportation, Spirit Reading, Magic Current Control, Spell Casting

Notes: Was one of the assistants to the Council of Immortals, was strong enough to join them but wasn’t immortal so he was instead a senior scribe, resents this. Is currently teaching Lace.

 

Lord Raven

Abilities: Master of the Ravens, Perception, Intellect, Immortalilty, Spell Casting

Notes: Master of the Ravens, a powerful group of beings that have existed since the dawn of time. Sees everything the birds see and is the ultimate source of knowledge on the planet. Lives in a castle above the clouds. Originally founded the Council of Immortals so that he wouldn’t be required to watch all that happened on the Earth, and since their creation has taken an oath of Non-interference.

 

Maenik Roq

Abilities: Immortality, Telekinesis, Conjuring, Teleportation, Psychic, Spell Casting

Notes: Evil leader of the nation, was once a member of the Council of Immortals but was banished when it was discovered that he had gained immortality by killing an immortal, instead of being born with it. He then began a war against the free people of Trinia. Was sealed behind the Forgotten Door when the war ended. Found a shard of the Crystal Blade and eventually escaped, took over Trinia and established himself as ruler.

 

NOTE: There are more characters than this, these are just the main characters.

Council of Immortals

Notes: Was an ancient council that decided the laws and judgments for Trinia. Made up of nine Senior Immortal Mages. Created the Crystal Blade to defeat Maenik Roq, and banished him behind the Forgotten Door. Destroyed the Crystal Blade and hid the shards in constantly moving spirit towers. Was defeated and disbanded by Maenik Roq upon his return. Only two members of the Senior Council still live, Maenik Roq and Shipmaster Dahl.

 

Forgotten Door

Notes: An ancient door to a different dimension. Used to seal Maenik Roq away from the world. The seal was broken by a young boy and Maenik escaped, having already gained a shard of the Crystal Blade from one the Spirit Towers when it appeared in the separate dimension.

 

Crystal Blade

Notes: Powerful blade created by the Council of Immortals to defeat Maenik Roq, was broken into shards by the Council (None of them being strong enough to fully destroy it). The shards were hidden away under guard in moving Spirit Towers. One of the shards was found by Maenik Roq when a Tower appeared in the other dimension. The sword was then almost entirely remade except for one piece that was found by a young mage called Lace. The shards are all subject to Quantum Entanglement, they all are connected and one can be used to locate the others.

 

Immortals

Notes: Are rarely born, cannot ever die of natural causes but can be killed, they are the most adept magic users and are capable of communicating with Spirits. Are said to be the creation of the Ravens.

 

Ravens

Notes: Ancient creatures that predate the dawn of Immortals. Are said to exist as watchmen of the planet and are capable of human speech with those they consider worthy. Are the most powerful beings on the planet, but only intervene in Earthly affairs in times of dire crisis. Are led by Lord Raven.

 

Spirits

Notes: Souls of existence, are incapable of communication or recognition by normal human, but can communicate with immortals. Can be harmed by the Crystal Blade.

 

Spirit Gun

Notes: Weapon that uses energy from Spirits to attack non-spirits. Only one has been built, it is used by Shipmaster Dahl. Was built by the Mechanics.

 

Mechanics

Notes: Beings that are incredibly adept at Metallurgy and weapon construction, the great constructors of Earth. Created the Spirit Gun millennia ago for Shipmaster Dahl.

 

Mages

Notes: Powerful Magic wielders that can channel and control Magical Currents. Have various ranks and are led by the Council of Immortals. Since the rise of Maenik, Mages have been systematically slaughtered so that no one can counter Maenik’s rule. Few still survive, but do not utilize Magic for fear of detection by the Black Guard. Lace and his teachers and guardian are an exception to this.

 

Magic

Notes: Powerful currents of energy that can be channeled and controlled by Mages, was once thought to come from the Ravens but was then discovered to be independent of them. Magic currents are stronger around Mages and immortals when they use Magic, which is how Maenik detects young Mages. Lace’s gang cannot be detected due to protective spells and shields made by Zejj the Philosopher.

 

Black Guard

Notes: Maenik’s secret police, used to enforce Maenik’s rule. Hunt and kill Mages.

The Raven quickly flew away to communicate the decision to the rest of the flock.

Iazzar sat in his seat, pondering what had just transpired.

He had recieved intellegence of a small uprising in the south, thousands of people had been killed by the Black Guards.

"Maenik seems to be having trouble."

Lord Raven always kept watch over the planet, and was particularly interested in the movements under Maenik's control.

Of course, he never interfered, not wanting to violate his oath, but still it piqued his interest.

So he sat there on his thrown, watching the people down below, and pondering the next movement.

[spoiler=Clemos Part One-The Hunt 1/3]

Tao woke up with a yawn and a stretch, then looked at his clock to see what time it was. He got up from bed and got dressed, then walked down the stairs. His father was there to greet him. "Good Morning, Tao." He said with a calm voice. "Did you sleep well?"Tao answered, "Yes I did." "Well good, because we have some work to do." the father said back.

 

Tao ate his breakfast and went outside. He had to go to class, which was regular on a daily basis, but Tao still hated it. He was excellent at Archery, and even was bumped up to the highest level, but even still, that wasn't a challenge for him. But then there was other subjects. He was high in History, Math, English (Their language was english), and Chemistry, math and Chemistry being the highest. PHCB, which is Physical Combat, he was horrible in. The best kid in his class, which was Tino, beat someone every time they tried, and was never beat. Sports he was regular at, and his sub-topic, like Art, Healh, and Language he was regular at.

As Tao walked into his first class, Math, he took a test and aced it. He next went to English and learned a little about Prepositions. He went to his sub-topic, which was Art, and finished his drawing of a cityscape. He then went to History and learned the Rebellion of Arited Sithet, one of the people who found this place. In Chemistry, he learned about electricity, then had lunch. He then took Archery Class, which was a breeze, then had PHCB.

Today he was facing Tino, again, because nobody else volunteered. He got onto the mat, and so did Tino, looking at him as if he would know he would win, which everybody thought was true. Tino first started with a headbutt, but Tao dodged it. Tao then grabbed his charging head and pushed it back, causing Tino to lose balance. Tao, as quicck as lightning, used this opportunity to jab him with a few punches. Tao got two or three in, but the Tino pushed him back. Tion then kicked Tao twice, which really hurt. Tino came in for a final kick, but then Tao grabbed his foot and threw him. Tino landed in a thud, and looked madder than ever. Tino started charging up for a blow, then dissappeared. He reappeared in front of Tao and delivered his blow, sending Tao up. Tao knew this was Tino's special move, which was a OHKO to anybody. As Tao was floating in the air, Tion hit him with a seires of punches and kicks, then came on top of Tao to elbow him down to the floor. Tao thought quickly and punched Tino in the face, making Tino lose balance and open. Tao came behind Tino and mimiced what Tino was about to do. Tino fell to the ground and Tao was declared winner. Tao, exausted, went to sit down as Tino was brought to the nurse for expection. As Tino was being rolled away, their eyes met. And he looked like he was choosing the flowers that would go best with his funeral.

[spoiler=The Risk Part 1: The Beginning 1/6]

 

Agas sit ontop of the roof of a 50 ft. building, she look down at the ground of grass and lotus flowers, or was it?, Agas closed her eyes and opened them again to see the true face of what the earth looked like, it was nothing more then a dark swamp, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes and began to meditate.

 

Meditation consisted of complete consentration, sort of like cutting yourself off from the rest of the world, staying in complete stillness and thought, not letting the destractions of hunger and greed of money make you have a second thought.

 

She meditated for awhile, keeping her mind on track and the outside world shut off from her, she saw visions of beautiful gardens and lakes, and of children laughing and playing, she also saw a beautiful building, its multi-coloured walls and its very elegantly designed roof.

 

She then opened her eyes and thought to herself "damn it!, distracted again!!", she then stood up and looked back at the hard ground and took a deep breath again, except this time she walked over the edge and began to fall down, she saw the ground inches away from her, she closed her eyes in hope, she then felt her feet touch the ground and her stumbling forward just a touch. She then opened her eyes to see she had landed ok, she took anouther breath and began to walk on.

[spoiler=Clemos Part One-The Hunt 2/3]

Finally, though seeming like forever, class was over. And the great part is that now, school was over for the summer. But today was Tao's big day, especially since today he was to be given the Trophy of Archery and the sacred Bow and Arrow of Light. As he walked out of school and was done talking to his friends, he was greeted by his mom and dad. "Congrats son," Tao's mom said, "you have passed school with great scores." "Thanks mom." Tao said back, "I'm glad I did." They went back home to get ready for the ceremony. There were other trophys at the ceremony, like the Trophy of Energy, which was when you really mastered your energy skills, and the Trophy of Close Combat, which was obviously going to be given to Tino.

When Tao was done getting ready, he went outside for some archery practice. In order to be accepted into manhood and go to secondary school (Primary is Elementary, Middle, and half of High, unlike England), you had to take a test, chosen by the Elders and your parents. The tests were on each subject, and you had to go through a seires of obstacles, just like in the real world, to reach your goal. He was taking a Chemistry test first, then Math, then a sub-topic test, and finally an Archery test. When he started to go, he fidgeted in his seat, nervous about the tests.

First was party time, which was fun, but didn't have much importance, though it deserves its own paragraph.

Next was the ceremonies. They called the trophies in order, meaning that archery was last. The Trophy of Math was first, then Chenistry, then English, then History, then sub-topic. Next was Close Combat/Physical Combat, and we all waited for Tino to stand up. He did, still glaring at me for what I did earlier. He went up to the Chief Elder, Hanon, and Hanon delivered the prize to Tino. Then Hanon delivered his speech, which was always the same for every ceremony, so it was kinda boring. When the speech was over, Tao's stomach tied itself in knots. He waited for the announcement for the archer expert to come up. Tao stood, but then saw another person stand, who was, he believed, the second best person in his class. They each came up, thinking that the other one made a mistake or needed to inform the Chief Elder about something. Hanon looked at the two boys, and announced the misunderstanding. "Ah, yes, we have two experts here. They are both considered even in Archery, and so they must pass a simple test in order to decide the winner. They must hit the target from 16 meters away." A target board came out and the boys moved 16 meters away. The other boy, Chiron, got his bow ready and fired into the air. It flew, and flew, and flew into the board in the yellow spot, which was the spot circling bulls eye. Tao shot his bow, but instead, it hit bulls eye straight in the center. This was shocking to many people, and Tao came back as winner.

Tao recieved his prize and went back to his seat. Now it was time for the tests. He passed his Math and Chemistry test and aced his sub-topic test. Now it was time for the Archery test. And for some reason, Tao felt that he would never return alive.

The dark figure, stepping up from his workbench, dawned his thoughts on the sunset and wondered whether to continue wit his plan. Almost immediately after he stood up several guards entered the figures shop. "Let! You'll be coming with us." Let turned to face the guards. "How so." Let asked, but it was really a subtle order. "Our army will be using your advanced mind and technology for our own war efforts! Now come!" Let reached behind him on his desk. "Sorry...not today, I'm far to busy..." Let through the object he had just picked up at the guards, and exploded in a burst of light. Let, after grabbing a few objects, jumped out of the three six story window and landed on his feet with a slight crack of his ankle Dang, not as young as I used to be... Let started to run off and the guards were yelling for him to stop from the top of his shop apartment. "Sorry, I don't want to take your lives, but my technology cannot be used for war..." Let pushed a trigger and with that his whole shop exploded in a ball of flame, but something was odd. The fire didn't catch to any other house, it was as if it was being contained to only destroy Let's building. The fire died down after about a half hour, but Let was nowhere to be found...
