The Crimson King
I thought that the man on Solemn was Moses, but apparently I was wrong.
CrabHelmet
Goddess to Queen isn't censorship' date=' Declaration of God to Solemn is.[/quote'] Explain why these changes are fundamentally different.
~/Coolio Prime\~
@ crabs' date=' i go out of my way to use troll at least once. it amuses me. also, maybe they dont care about nuertral/good goddesses. they evidently care about the evil one. whatever. also, im sorry i dont have an encyclopedic knowledge of unused cards. im sure that helps you a lot in life. instead of walking into a conversation to pick at the fallacies of others, maybe you could contribute something worth reading? if you really look at it, athena is a greek goddess, as artemis is a greek god, and venus is a roman goddess >.>maybe they just have an aversion to evil deities and using the word 'god'?evil deities bring out the parents who claim the game is satanic, and gods bring out the people who say its flat-out heretical. i guess goddesses are fine so long as they arent evil then. edit: also, im pretty sure goddess to queen is censorship. theyre very different titles that hold very different meanings. changing a goddess to a queen at any point is illogical.also, maybe black feathers just changed to black wings out of euphonious appeal? they probably decided that black feathers sounds better in japanese, whereas black wings sounds better in english. theres no real loss of meaning.[/quote']Saying someone is wrong is a contribution, you Joker troller. >:( @Helmet: Solemn was very much in relation to the Judaic God, The Goddess was a fake. Solemn was more than a name change, the card's art was altered, whereas Goddesses being Queens haven't gone through art alteration, if I recall correctly. Tronta
oh ya, hes funny.the original is much more violent looking.much more detail. anyway:since you were kind enough to quote my text, you could at least read it. i said contribute something worth reading. not just throw in your two cents whenever it happens to contradict someone. the art was not changed on ruin because its art does not offend. the name is offensive, and thus the name was altered. solemns art could be considered offensive, so it was altered. the same applies to monster reborn, spellbinding circle, and i think magicians circle. this way, konami avoids any trouble while hitting a larger demographic. its just good international business. i suppose konami believes that the american market wouldnt stand for an evil god/goddess of any sort. its not a bad belief. also batman, at this point, i dont seem to understand what your argument is. i think you just want to argue that ruin was changed to a queen for no reason? The Elemental Hero
Extermination is wrong' date=' children. Cockroaches are people too![/quote']That is not true! Most of the time' date=' Gods and Goddesses don't retain their original names if they have a negative connotation. Tethys is a happy LIGHT Fairy goddess of love and joy and stuff, so she can stay a Goddess; Ruin is all about ruin, extermination, and oblivion, not to mention The End of the World, so she becomes a Queen. Of course, then you have cases like The Creator, where it's just arbitrary.[/quote'] Not to mention the interesting case of Solemn Judgment' date=' which went from being a "Declaration of God" (japanese card name) that forbids the opponent's action to a random old man mumbling "NO U!" for the same effect.[/quote'] actually yes' date=' they are usually censorships. its not konami's fault, its the north american market. too sensitive, too religious.[/quote'] The attack of the censorship!!!!! ~/Coolio Prime\~
anyway:since you were kind enough to quote my text' date=' you could at least read it. i said contribute something worth reading. not just throw in your two cents whenever it happens to contradict someone.[/quote']It got painfully old and I didn't read the last paragraph. You're just ignoring what I'm saying at this point. If what you say is wrong, then pointing out that it is wrong for the sake of someone's knowledge is something worth reading. Don't try changing this to some sort of philosophy argument, focus on what we're disagreeing about. the art was not changed on ruin because its art does not offend. the name is offensive, and thus the name was altered. solemns art could be considered offensive, so it was altered. the same applies to monster reborn, spellbinding circle, and i think magicians circle. this way, konami avoids any trouble while hitting a larger demographic. its just good international business. Some name changes are made randomly. The name wouldn't offend anyone, as it wasn't in direct reference to a specific god, and they've left things such as Dark Creator alone. Also, if they did want to censor gods, they would censor all of them. Bringing us to the next part of your post. i suppose konami believes that the american market wouldnt stand for an evil god/goddess of any sort. its not a bad belief. Dark Creator. batmanI'm starting to believe you have some sort of problem with recognizing names. at this point, i dont seem to understand what your argument is. i think you just want to argue that ruin was changed to a queen for no reason?I guess. A lot of name changes are made for no real reason. To only real censorship is an image change or the editing of something in direct relation to the Judaic God.
