1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

You can Tribute 1 monster to destroy 1 card on your opponent's side of the field. Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 DARK monster in your Graveyard to increase this cards ATK by 1000 until the End Phase. When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your hand or Deck.

[spoiler=Card 2]43681rej.jpg

This card cannot be Normal Summon or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 2 Zombie-Type monsters you control from play. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your hand to randomly select 1 card from your opponent's hand. If the selected card is a monster, send all monsters on the field back to the respective owner's hand, except this card. If a LIGHT monster battles this card, negate that attack. If this card is is sent to the Graveyard by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, remove 1 monster on the field from play.

Nightslash Phantomare

We already have enough generic LV6 Synchros. Do we need more?

Art is kinda vague and lame.

As for the stats, they're alright, but kinda too high for a card that'll get another 1000 atk.

I like the last effect a lot, especially how it works with the first effect.

6,73/10

[Vampire of the Setting Sun]

AFAIK, unique Summoning COndition.

The first effect isn't really worth it...

Second effect: Ally of Justice wannabe.

This card's last effect is sweet, too.

8,16/10

My vote goes to card #2!

Nightslash Phantomare is broken, but not too broken.

The second one has a lot of OCG Problems, though.

My vote goes to Nightslash Phantomare.

How do you know which card is whose? =/

Time for the DOOM rubric. =)

CARD 1: Nightslash Phantomare.

OCG:

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

You can Tribute 1 monster to destroy 1 card on your your opponent controls. Once per turn' date=' you can remove from play 1 DARK monster in your Graveyard to have this card gain 1000 ATK until the End Phase. When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your hand or Deck.

Errors:

-"side of the field" is outdated.

-"increase" is outdated.

16/20

NAME:

Nothing wrong with it, I can see it being used for a card any day. 5/5

PICTURE:

It's basic, blurred, and has a simple solid-color background, which is unrealistic for ygoz. 9/15

BALANCE:

The abilities to be a 3450 beatstick, 1-for-1, AND produce advantage upon removal from the field is way too much for a LV6 Common Synchro with no specific material. 9/20

EFFECT LENGTH AND QUALITY:

I'm not seeing the effect as being overly well thought out. It's relatively short and basic in contrast to what I'd want to see in a 1-on-1. 11/20

ORIGINALITY:

No overly new concepts here, but still fairly original considering that none of the effects were taken from existing cards. 8.5/10

DETAILS:

The TCG doesn't use 5 character Set ID prefixes. Other than that, you're good. 9/10

[b']TOTAL: 67.5/100[/b]

CARD 2: Vampire Of The Setting Sun

OCG:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing from play 2 Zombie-Type monsters you control. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card to randomly select 1 card from your opponent's hand. If the selected card is a monster, send all monsters on the field back to their owners' hands, except this card. When a LIGHT monster attacks this card, negate the attack. If this card is is sent to the Graveyard by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, remove from play 1 monster on the field.

Errors:

-"Normal Summon"="Normal Summoned".

-"remove _____ from play" is outdated and is now "remove from play ____".

-It's just "discard ___ to ___" not, "discard ___ from your hand to ___".

-"battles" would be used if either monster was attacking, to negate only the LIGHT monster's attacks, use "attacks".

-Your return nuke effect is misworded, check the latest version of Giant Trunade when in doubt next time.

-You tripped up on the RFP thing again at the end.

14/20

NAME:

First of all, "Setting Sun" doesn't exactly sound as fearsome as you'd want to make this look, second, "of", and "the", shouldn't have capped first letters. 2/5

PICTURE:

Nice holo, minor blur. 14/15

BALANCE:

The Summoning Condition is way too easy to fulfill considering that it's a 2600 ATK beatstick which can nuke the field except itself, prevent attacks from LIGHT monsters, and generates instant advantage when taken out by a Spell or Trap. Zombies from the field would be more appropriate. 11/20

EFFECT LENGTH AND QUALITY:

A little choppy, looks a bit like a pile of random effects with no connections. The length is sufficient, but could be MUCH more. 12/20

ORIGINALITY:

Has a nuke, a nomi condition, and a destruction trigger. Not overly original. 6/10

DETAILS:

Circ is unrealistic since the Card Maker transforms "1st Edition" into "1ST EDITION". Set IDs are a must. 4/10

TOTAL: 63/100. Card 1 wins.

Oh cool, a contest between two cards on an equal level! I didn't know these actually happened!

Let's break them down, since they're actually not half bad.

Nightslash Phantomare - DARK

6/Fiend/Synchro/Effect

You can Tribute 1 monster to destroy 1 card on your opponent's side of the field. Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 DARK monster in your Graveyard to increase this cards ATK by 1000 until the End Phase. When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fiend-Type monster from your hand or Deck.

2450/1800

I hate Synchros personally, but that has nothing to do with this card.

This card is hilariously broken for a multitude of reasons.

The synergy with a variety of monsters make his first effect, the Tribute to destroy effect, horridly abusable. The most obvious combo, of course, is to Tribute himself. You get to destroy an opponent's card and net a free Special Summon in the process. Dark Resonator into a replicate Synchro Summon, maybe. The options you get out of using this doesn't quit. Tributing off all other monsters you control to basically wipe the field, then Tributing himself if necessary for another card blown up, then replacing him with a card that will often take control over a field that has just been cleared.

The remove from play effect is broken too, but is almost irrelevant. There's no reason to give him an ATK increase unless there's no cards left over to destroy. Then, you've cleared the field for a 3450 ATK monster. Oh boy, the ATK drops at the End Phase, then your opponent is left with no field and a 2450 ATK monster that will be able to destroy at least 1 card that they play unless they get rid of it.

There's no downside to this. When it's on the field, it promotes a vicious control aspect, and it makes sure that you maintain card advantage even when he's removed from the field by giving you another Fiend-type monster as a replacement. For some reason, Dark Resonator is the only Fiend-type coming to mind that has any reputable use with this. I know there are others, though.

This is broken, clearly.

Vampire of the Setting Sun - DARK

7/Zombie/Effect

This card cannot be Normal Summon or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 2 Zombie-Type monsters you control from play. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your hand to randomly select 1 card from your opponent's hand. If the selected card is a monster, send all monsters on the field back to the respective owner's hand, except this card. If a LIGHT monster battles this card, negate that attack. If this card is is sent to the Graveyard by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, remove 1 monster on the field from play.

2600/2200

Summon Condition = Vampire Genesis, made a little more generic to cover for uniqueness.

If you had quit typing after the first actual effect, this card would've been amazing. The LIGHT effect is completely unnecessary and merely points to this as a specific-counter, which it isn't. It just buffs its advantages.

The last effect is okay, you're at least getting something out of the death of a nomi that you had to lose 2 Zombie-type monsters to put down.

This card is far superior to the first card in the fact that you're actually losing advantage by discarding cards, although Zombies have numerous ways of making the Graveyard their playpen.

The LIGHT counter effect is a tad unnecessary, but overall it's a good trade. The hand bounce effect is pretty cool, I'll admit. It forces an opponent to either hold their Spells/Traps or get the monsters out of their hand to force a miss, lest they lose all their field monsters. It's pretty nifty.

So, really, both are extreme advantage-generating cards, but the first card's self-synergy makes it far more broken than the second. The fact that the first is a Synchro... who cares? Synchro Summoning a monster can be done in so many simple ways with very few cards that it's irrelevant.

The second card gets my vote.

And please, don't vote for "creativity" only.

Wow, what a way to out yourself for having the less creative card. xD
