[Discuss] I'm Stereotyping Attributes.

Recommended Posts

Here's something pointless to discuss about. :D

In general:

LIGHT : High attack beatsticks. (Honests, Allius, some Lightsworns)

DARK : Graveyard related, destructive effects. (DAD, Zombies, Armageddon Knight, Dark Grepher, D-Heros, things like Chaos Necromancer)

WATER : Low level, Control style. (Frogs/Wetlands, Ice Boundary, ALO)

EARTH : High DEF, flip summoning. (Exxod, Sphinx, Rock-type monsters)

FIRE : Burn. (Volcanics, Fire Princess, Lava Golem)

WIND : Bounce, Spin, S/T Destruction. (Harpies, Mist Valley)

Yes, there are exceptions, I'm talking about generally how Konami make monsters/archetype of a certain attribute behave.

Discuss.

Ah yes, like the good old days of lolbeatsticks of 2001. I still remember the monster the first monster that had 1850 attack. Good old Light Machine, Mechanical Chaser.

Then we got 1900 vanilla beatsticks, Light Beast Warrior Vorse Raiser and Light Spellcaster Gemini Elf.

And then later on, we got the strongest level 4 Vanilla in the entire game. The Light monster Gene Warped War Wolf.

... Oh wait.

A lot of EARTH cards are Beatsticks too' date=' and mostly involve around Battle Damage

[/quote']

^This^

The majority of EARTH-Attribute monsters are about either high ATK or DEF

EARTH-Attributes are your generic beatstick-type monsters. Like Gene Warped Warwolf for example.

Indeed, it is false if you look at the Level 4 Normals. However, look instead at the archetypes:

1) Zanji is the strongest of the original Six Samurai.

2) Neos Alius and Captain Gold are the strongest Level 4 E-Heroes... and Prisma and Sparkman are the next strongest after Stratos and The Heat.

3) The two Shining monsters generally have the most ATK of the E-Hero Fusions. If it keeps its manga effect, The Shining will also qualify. Other possible candidates are Electrum and, if we count it despite it not actually being an E-Hero, Rainbow Neos. All five of these are LIGHT.

4) The two highest ATK Gladiator Beasts, excluding the Fusions, are Alexander and Octavius.

5) Radion, the one who essentially has a default ATK of 1800 and increases everyone else's ATK by 800, is certainly the most ATK-heavy Morphtronic.

6) The Lightlords are all LIGHT, but note that their Level 4 monsters tend to have more ATK than any other theme - one has 2100, one has 1850, one has 1800 but hits for 2100, and one has 1700. The only other archetype with anywhere near that is E-Heroes, but E-Heroes also have far more weak monsters.

7) The Ritual with the most base ATK is Shinato. However, the resident Level 4 LIGHT Warrior, Cú Chulainn the Awakened, has an effect that can boost its ATK to 3500, surpassing even Shinato.

8) The Ninjas barely even qualify as a theme, and yet their strongest monster, with 1800 ATK, is Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke - a Level 4 LIGHT Warrior. And among the primary subset of Ninjas - the ones with Flip Effects - the strongest is White Ninja, a Level 4 LIGHT Warrior.

9) In terms of Vanillas, there's always Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

10) There's a tie for highest-ATK Fusion, but only one of the two, Dragon Master Knight, can make its own ATK even higher.

11) In terms of support, LIGHTs have Honest.

Your reasoning is epic.

Merely a coincidence. The highest attack HAD to be one attrib, and it just so happened to fall on light monsters this time around. There are plenty of multi-attrib archetypes where the highest attack monster isn't a light.

Crystal Beasts

Vehicroids

Genex (I assume, and I base this on YGO WC'09. I'm not gonna open 24 pages on the lolwiki.)

Neo Spacians

/Assault Mode

Spirits

Psychics

2) Neos Alius and Captain Gold are the strongest Level 4 E-Heroes... and Prisma and Sparkman are the next strongest after Stratos and The Heat.

If we're being selective on levels, Level 4 Aliens, level 4 Toons, and a bunch from the previous list that are only level 4.

But why decide those are the "boss monsters" of the set? Just because they so happen to follow the line of reasoning spelled out, we take them over other likely candidates? Why not Absolute Zero, Terra Firma, Gaia, Inferno, or Tempest?

Of the evil heroes fusions, Dark Gaia (Earth) is arguably the strongest. Malicious Fiend (Fire) has the highest base attack.

Divine Roar Dieties are also an all light theme, and only 3 out of 10 of the level 4s have an attack of 1500 or higher, and Grimlo only goes up to 1700.

If we're talking straight up numbers and level 4s, Archfiends out rank Lightsworn in terms of beatstickery. Archfiend General (2100), Shadowknight Archfiend and Terror King Archfiend (2000) Archfiend Soldier, (1900) and Mad Archfiend and Infernity Archfiend. (1800)

7) The Ritual with the most base ATK is Shinato. However, the resident Level 4 LIGHT Warrior, Cú Chulainn the Awakened, has an effect that can boost its ATK to 3500, surpassing even Shinato.

[...]

9) In terms of Vanillas, there's always Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

10) There's a tie for highest-ATK Fusion, but only one of the two, Dragon Master Knight, can make its own ATK even higher.

Highest attack Synchros (3000):

Hyper Psycho Blaster (Earth)

Naturu Gaodrake (Fire)

Red Dragon Archfiend (Dark)

Road Warrior (Light)

Trident Dragon (Fire)

Highest possible (within reason) attack Synchro:

Colossal Warrior (Dark)

Highest attack Geminis (2400):

Chthonian Emperor Dragon (Fire)

Doom Shaman (Dark)

Gigaplant (Earth)

Highest Attack Tuner (2600):

Emissary from Pandemonium (Dark)

Highest Attack (just) Effect Monster (4600):

Machiners Force (Earth)

11) In terms of support, LIGHTs have Honest.

Earth Monsters have Spiritual Earth Arts, but that doesn't mean they're all about tribbing and reviving from the grave.

Water Monsters have Salvage, but that doesn't mean they're all about renewing from the graveyard.

Somehow, I'm still with Crab...

Oh, that's right, because he covered actual used archtypes, instead of....archfiends. Wtf?

Anyway, your argument doesn't quite match up. You're right, it is a generalisation, but a well justified one.

....

whats the purpose of this topic? i think this is specifically on the wikia....

Here's something pointless to discuss about. :D

I quoted myself lol.

-------------------------

Out of the five spiritual arts, Water follows the (hand) control theme, Fire follows burn, Wind follows the spin (though on the bottom of the deck :/).

Only Earth is somehow a Cunning of the Six Samerai for EARTH, and DARK is fail, though it seems Dark gets more draw cards than other attributes though. With Destiny Draw (D-Heros are all DARKs), Allure of Darkness and the Dark Spirit Art.

Then the monarchs are just weird.

Fire one is burn, but is associated with hand control, and the Caius actually burns better than Thestalos.

Granmarg targets facedowns so it's kind of related to the Earth theme.

Raiza follows the pattern the best.

Kuraz, Mobius and Zaborg doesn't though.
