Guest JoshIcy
No support. If a person does not care to look at the stickies, which imho, are more visible than PMs. Why should we force it on them? And most people will learn as time goes on.
Saturn of Elemia
I support this. If they choose not to read the PM (that they should be directed to when they log in for the first time - which I'm guessing is the suggestion), then it's their own fault. SUPPORT!!! 8)

A PM banner is on EVERY PAGE right at the TOP, completely unmissable. A stickied thread is within a particular forum and therefore harder to notice. Apologies. I don't get that when I get a new PM anymore. And either way. I did not read the rules when I joined, and I learned just fine. As such, I expect the same from new member as well. That being; I don't expect them to read the rules.

That being; I don't expect them to read the rules.[/quote'] I didn't read them either and I did- well I'll stop there but I followed the rules when I first joined. :)But just because we did that you can't expect everyone else to; people are different to others and some might be oblivious to what the Rules are until it is directly pointed out to them (by which time they may already be banned). At the end of the day, if they're schooled and taught what to do as soon as they register then they will learn a lot quicker then just "learning it as they go along". I regret not reading the Rules myself after I made a necrobump back when I first joined, but I only didn't for 2 reasons. 1 was that they were too long, and 2 was that I didn't know where to read and which "The Rules" thread was the updated one. Guest JoshIcy
"I don't expect", and figuring out a learning curve is better. In my opinion. My lack of support has been always, pure bias. Why you're trying to prove it wrong is beyond me.

Why you're trying to prove it wrong is beyond me.[/quote'] How exactly does this count as a comeback? You've just completely ignored what I just said and haven't challenged it at all. Therefore everything said just remains true and valid. :? What I'm trying to prove is how a PM explaining everything on registration is going to beat "just learning as you go along", and I have done just that. SushiTheLegend
Exactly, if a newbie knows where the rules are, where all the important things to know are, then they will be that much better of a member, instead of being told "Well idiot you didn't follow our rules, goodbye". Fizzy™
I support. This makes the rules and how the forum works clear to everyone. It's true that some might not read it but it's there for the people who will.I have this enabled at my forums and it works great. Flash Flyer - Sakura
I suppose I support this topic: I admin my own site and so far, no one has broken the rules. I give them the site rules when they join. But over here, some new members don't read rules. Just PM them the entire YCM rulebook during registration and they're fine. Guest KAJN
I think I wanted this to be done before. It should give them links to all the needed threads/rules and a link to the intro forum. I for a fact know I read welcome PMs when I join' date=' so it would be very useful.[/quote'] Same. I even posted a god damn thread about it. I don't know where it is now though D: No support I'm with Crabzorz.
