level up and lvl monsters

Recommended Posts

ok so i have an armed dragon lvl 3 and armed dragon lvl 5 in my deck, should i put the card Level Up in? i mean isnt it the exact same effect as armed dragon lvl 3's? lvl 3 says: "during your standby face, send this face-up card to the graveyard to special summon 1 armed dragon lvl5 from your hand or deck", meanwhile level up says: "send 1 face-up monster on your side of the field that has lvl in its name to the graveyard to activate this card. special summon the monster that is written in the card text of that monster from your hand or deck, ignoring the summoning conditions".............they sound the same to me any1 wanna explain? 0_o

Level Up and LV 3 are completely diffrent.

LVL 3's effect summons LVL 5 at the Sandby Phase. If you don't know (I think that you don't) You summon monsters at the Main Phase which is after the Standby Phase so with LVL 3 you should either protect it for a turn or SS at the end of your opponent's turn.

Level Up's effect allows you to SS LVL 5 on the turn you summoned LVL 3. It can be activated in the Main Phase when you normal sumon LVL 3.

LV monsters (minus Horus) suck.

Run none of the above.

Officially:

A turn is composed of:

Draw Phase (that phase in which you draw a card)

Standby Phase (the time in which all your LV ups and others can be activated)

Main Phase 1 (summoning, activating spells, setting and activating traps)

Battle Phase (where you battle)

Main Phase 2 (same as 1)

End Phase

Read the rules.

LV 3's effect can summon 5 after a dangerous opponent's turn. It's near impossible for LV 3 to NOT be destroyed. LV up can do it more faster, with less risk.
