Welll....

I was watching something not paying attention to something in World History the other day that really surprised me. Well, two things really. I was first watching a video that showed all the empires that had controlled the little strip of land known as Asia Minor and Egypt. There were the Hittites, the three Kingdoms of Egypt, the kingdom of Isreal, Ottomans, Romans, Greeks, Byzantine, Mongol, and Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan's empires all stretched covering these areas.

Also, the next day, we were looking through a slideshow that had a little bit to do with religion-history. Behind the book of Exodus, there is actual historic evidence pertaining to where Moses parted the Red Sea and brought the 2-3 Million (yes MILLION) Jews to freedom from slavery in Egypt the process went as such.

• The process of escaping probably occured at night, to give them the most time before many of the Egyptians woke up.

• They went to Aqaba beach, where there is a large enough space that all the Jews could fit on it. There was a single hill outlined by very steep hills.

• Aqaba Beach has a clear view of Saudi Arabia from the shore.

• There is an underwater land bridge that spans the distance from shore to shore.

• When the tide recedes, the bridge becomes visible.

Now about that pillar of fire that staved off the Pharoah's chariots? Simple driftwood fire. 'Could they have gone around it?' No. The hills were to steep for the chariots to ride on.

• From there, they walked across the Red Sea's underwater land bridge.

• Mt. Sinai, where Moses received the ten commandments is located in Saudi Arabia.

Now for the historic proof.

• Does everyone know the Solomon Memorial Pillars? Well, they were pillars put in Aqaba Beach and the opposing side in Saudi Arabia. The Arab's have taken their pillar down, but the Egyptian one still stands, though the inscriptions faded. They read 'Moses', 'Egyptian' and a few other words.

This is the location of Mt. Sinai. If you look, there is a small, but noticible extension from the Egypt side. This is Aqaba.

What is this? An underwater landbridge?

This is one of the Chariot wheels from the Pharoah's chariots, who obviously didn't make it to the other side fast enough. There are some bones long since sanded, too.

May I ask how this thread got 3000 views with only 8 replies?

Also' date=' doesn't most religion have historical roots? :/

I'd assume some one is holding down F5 (or is it 4, meh)

Yea, most things in religious writing are based on some true event, and like I said, they make some changes to it to fit their need and to convey some message.

Horus (and other atheist "extremists"' date=' such as myself) are not ignorant enough to deny EVERYTHING in the bible, hell, I even believe Jesus existed.

[/quote']

I'm pretty sure there is actual documented proof of a man named Jesus living in that time period.

I known that, and so do most atheists.

Most meaning all, yeah. Atheists are generally smart people, and we don't make idiotic assumptions. This is serious buisness, and we would rather not be reprimanded as most of the WORLD is against us.

I know that as well. But we refuse to believe in OTHER parts of the Bible people believe in. Like Noah's arc and whatnot. People believed that happened. And I don't see what morals you get out of that, so whoever wrote the Bible probably wants you take it literally; not interpretivley (sp?).

There is a lot of evidence that relates to the bible/quran/torah/etc, yet people still refuse to believe that it is true. People can debate that the land bridge only gets out of the water because of Global Warming, and people can debate that it was always like that. Its personal beliefs and religious beliefs in the end. But i think this is interesting and pretty awesome though

No one is saying the Bible is wrong in its entirety. The Bible obviously has some correct points to it, just as a cartoon like Spongebob has some correct points to it. What I am saying is I think the story about Adam and Eve, and Noah, and the countless other stories are LIKE SPONGEBOB, false.

Im just stupid. Dont doubt it for a second.

I wasnt saying that people disagree the entire bible and its contents, I was just saying that some people will put debates and arguments against it, because people are asses like that. Your right when you say that the bible does have some truth in it, but again, so does every other funking book in this planet. Only a little of it can be proved, and everything else is up to personal choice/opinion/belief.

I did write a good two paragraphs more to what you said, but again, im stupid. It'll just be turned down and "LOLN00BSTFUnGTFONAO" like every other thing in this forum that actually has a decent retort infused in it. It gets annoying when your talking about religion or religious stuff, because no matter what you say or do, someone will turn you down. Whats the point of writing stuff if it just gets turned down or laughed at? Its like making a baby just to have it mocked for its small penis or something.

Btw, SPONGEBOB IS REAL D:< MOMMY SAID SO D:>
