Wait, how is Breaker god? [DISC]

Each time a Spell Card is activated' date=' place 1 Spell Counter on this card. When a card with a Spell Counter(s) is destroyed, place its Spell Counters on this card.[b'] Once per turn, [/b]if you would activate a card's effect by removing a Spell Counter(s) from cards you control, you can remove Spell Counters from this card instead. If this card would be destroyed, you can remove 1 Spell Counter from this card instead.

Ok, I understand how this is good. It works really well with Arcanite Magician since Arcanite can remove spell counters from any card (without having to activate Citadel's effect) to destroy things, but how would this make Breaker god? Ooo, you get 2 s/t destructions in one turn, but you also make Breaker a 1600 failstick and it is easily replaced by Heavy or Breaker + MST, something any deck can do. Also, once that spell counter is gone, you have to replinish it with Spell Power Grasp or Pitch-Black Power Stone to continue the destruction spam, but you can do that without Citadel anyways...

turn 1, I play citadel and use spell power grasp on it, then set one monster, (4 cards in hand)

turn 2, they play a monster, and since it's early in the game, they don't use destruction effects, they just attack.

face down was apprentice. I set another apprentice.

they set 3. (3 cards in hand)

turn 3, I play breaker, he gets counter. my oppoent does not use a card on him. (4 cards in hand)

I activate his effect, sub endymion counter.(that's one)

I activate his effect, no sub (2)

I activate spell power grasp and add another counter to breaker, then use it again. (3) (4 cards in hand)

I flip apprentice, and give him his counter back.

then I play soildary, increasing all my monsters by 800 ATK.

I attack with breaker, killing his monster (or running into honest if's it's light, but that kills anything anyway.)assuming it is 1900, I do 800

then attack with apprentice for 1200.

that's 2000 damage, endymion now has 3 counters, breaker still has his counter, and I have 3 cards in hand.

they only have 3 cards in hand.

unless this is a tourney, most noobs quit after that, and most other's go on the defensive.

>_>

I think it's the fact that you can continuously destroy a spell-trap every turn' date=' even if it is only one a turn.

I find it amusing you ask this, and then I look at your sig...

That's cuz it's funny <<

Not every bannable card has to be Chaos Emperor Dragon in order to be bannable.

Huh? I am very confused how that applys... I'm not saying it isn't bannable, I'm asking why it's considered god with Citadel

I don't play Spellcasters but I'm guessing because with enough fueling Breaker can be a Harpie's Feather Duster each and every turn.

Not every turn, but I see your point. However, while 1900 is a very respectable ATK, it's really not hard to get off of the field. Then again, you should only need 1 Feather Duster to win or control the rest of the duel.

I was just giving an example.

he would have likely chained if he had anything, and I can't assume one deck other another, then it would completely change the situation.

plus, none of these actions have to be done, it's all optional, which is actually another bonus to it.

and all the cards I mentioned can be run in threes.

I assumed like half the other discussions in this place, it was more of a "Discuss if This Card should be banned or not" topic. If you can't see how Magical City helps Breaker, I feel sorry for you.

........I wonder

Would Citidel's "Once per turn" effect, count for each monster on the field? Like lets say you had 2 Breakers out(each still have there Spell Counter), would each of them be able to use there effect twice? O,o

No, because it's not "once per monster" it's "once per turn" so I'm confused how that was percieved differently... and I saw the initial advantage of Breaker with Citadel, but without the combo WWJ put forth, that's 1 per turn, and with all of the chainable traps, I didn't see the reason. Now I understand, partially, but eh, still seems overrated.
