A bit overrated >.<

Also what Clariex said. D:

Okay' date=' then we'll see if you'd still say it if your whole family and loads of other people you knew died....

[/quote']

I see where he's coming from. This is hardly the worst thing America has faced. Just the most recent.

But I have nothing but the highest admiration for those who retook the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. True heroes.

I got to go home early from school that day. =p

But really' date=' I can honestly say I wasn't the least bit affected.

I'm such a horrible person~ x3

[/quote']

As much as I appreciate and respect your plain insanity o' doom, but THIS is nothing to be proud of.

Really, unless you have relatives in New York, this probably didn't affect you too much. Most of use were between the ages of 6 and 12 >_>.

No, we may have family who went to war, who may have died, all because of this event.

Anyway, I was 4 at the time. Never realized it was so bad until yesterday when I had a lesson on it in Social Studies. Very sad day.

So there's this foreign exchange student from Germany in my school, and I have a class with him. We were talking about 9/11 today and he decides to go off on this ridiculous (and fairly disrespectful) rant...

These aren't his EXACT words (give or take a sentence or two), but it basically sums up what he said. It mad me pretty angry, actually.

You Americans need to just get over 9/11 and get on with your life. Omg! 3' date='000 people died! Oh no! When are you stupid Americans going to realize that 9/11 is NOTHING compared to other events in history. Ever hear of the Holocaust? You probably haven't, because your heads are too far up your ass because of 9/11. Just get over it already.[/quote']

And this made me, along with the rest of the class as well as the teacher, quite angry. I think the reason we make such a big deal about 9/11 isn't strictly because 3,000 people died. I think it's a big deal because a lot of people felt safe here. I guess what I'm trying to say is... People thought America was safe form attacks, like we were everyone's friend. We felt like we were in this safety bubble where nothing bad could happen. And then the next thing you know, two planes crash into the Twin Towers and all of a sudden the safety bubble was popped. None of us felt safe anymore. IDK. That's just kinda what we talked about in class...

on that day many innocent people's died' date=' i remmember that day like it was yesterday

may the Souls of the dead find peace on the otherworld

[/quote']

Amen.

I second that Amen.

I believe that terrorists should all be killed, if they're not dead already. You could say that someone killing a terrorist is being like a terrorist/criminal, but killing them will save the lives of many innocent people.

I was four when 9/11 happened.

My mom used to go through the Twin Towers to go to work. The plane crashed at the time she would have been going through it. But, my mom's mother had died 9/11/00 and the attack was 9/11/01. My grandmother had died exactly a year before and my mom took the day off to go to my grandmother's grave. If my grandmother hadn't dided the year before, my mother would have been killed. =(

But, luckily she is still alive. =)

I am very happy she is still alive.

That's crazy. It's great that she is still alive.

My best friend at the time had a sister that lived in NY and worked in the towers. She was scheduled to work, but she was pregnant and in the middle of the night she had to be rushed in the hospital to give birth. Her son was born at 9:30AM. They gave him the nickname 'Lucky' for obvious reasons...

Wow, that is very lucky.

One of my friend's Father used to work in the Twin Towers but his alarm clock didn't go off on time and he slept until Noon then noticed he was late for work, so he ate breakfast and while he was eating breakfast he turned on the news and saw what was happening....

He was so lucky.

Wow touche about dead people aren't we Icy?

I was in 2nd Grade.... all my family lives in Ga miles away from the Twin Towers. Was any of my family killed; No. Should i even care; No. But that doesn't meant i don't pay my respects.... Just a small amount though. Cause what the US went through was nothing like the Holocaust.....or what Cubians are going through, but it's still tramatic for all of us.

@ any Non-US person on here Yes we know that you don't feel the scars and the pain that most of the people went through and still suffer from, but don't say, "Forget about it" and "It's not important" To you it means nothing to us the US citizens it means something... so if you aren't gonna post something rememberable about 9-11 Don't Post at ALL.

It's one of those events that everyone in the world remembers where they were when it happened, no matter how long ago it was. Like the JFK assassination.

I remember that our teacher broke the news in the middle of story time in elementary school. I was initially pissed, of course, because I didn't realize how big it really was and my story got cut off.

So much that you abuse your powers.

Face the facts' date=' we aren't breaking any rules.

The mourning for 9/11 in this form should have stopped already, it's alright to remember it, but move on with your lives already.

You don't mourn the holocaust.

[/quote']

I'll go over my decision to prune this thread at my discretion tomorrow, over PM with you.

But you mourn the holocaust year round... Well... I do.
