Phantom Roxas
I'm taking Pre-Calculus, and I have decided that taking Math is now utterly pointless. I'd love to drop the class, but my high school requires me to take three years of math.
Catman25
Math is in almost every career. =o And is this a poll?
Guest xbon
Math is pwnsome, I'm in algebra right now and I ace every test, math is really insanely easy, but It does help with real world things, a lot.
♥ ЅϯᵲåώӀӞ℮ᴙʀɣ−ɴɨɨ−ƈħåɴ ♥
Where I live, we only have four years of high school, and mathematics is only compulsory up to Grade 11. You can choose whether or not you wish to continue mathematics in Grade 12.
OMGAKITTY
After algebra, I think math should be voluntary. I don't think I'll be needing calculus in my career.
Jacoby746
Im in Middle School, but im taking Algebra 1. And I have a ton of homework to make up cause I was sick for 2 days. Anyway, what's calculus? Can't help you there.
Guest xbon
I'm in Junior High too, taking Algebra, And, After Algebra is Geometry, which I believe is still involuntary, and then probably after Geometry it could be voluntary, not sure though. Raelen
Math is mucho importante. Ya like my Spanish? Anyways, stick with it. It's hard but learning math, overall, is very rewarding.

Dark
After algebra' date=' I think math should be voluntary. I don't think I'll be needing calculus in my career.[/quote'] Algebra II is a good stopping point. After that, you will almost never use the rest of the math you learn in your life. Math can either be easy or hard. Lucky for me, it's easy. Math is definatley important, as we wouldn't have so many things without math, but crap like Calculus and Statistics is a bit overboard. Phantom Roxas
Besides, I've narrowed down my career choice to the following: • Voice acting• Creative writing• Video game designing I doubt that even video game designing would require knowledge from Pre-Calculus. Dark
Video game designing actually requires an immensive amount of math. But I doubt it would get into Calculus. Pre-calculus, possibly.
Красивая Ведьма
Math isn't pointless. True, you will most likely not use most of it again, however people who enter jobs that use a large amount of it will.

Bloodrun
I hated Math with a passion, and still do. 5y + 17b = ? Will never, ever, EVER, be in your daily life, not even in a stock brokers life. It's just plain ridiculous. The basics of math, I can accept and be willing to learn. But most of the other Math basis, is just like.. come on now, all I want to do is buy a Hamburger and a coke. I don't need AY over ZX to do that. Dark
5y + 17b = ? Isn't that impossible unless you have a value for both y and b? Or are you talking about substitution?

Mindscatter
Math is very useful for some people, and useless for the others. I mean that, excepting the fact that numbers exist and some physic formulas, math has nothing to do with the real world and I hate it. Where I live, math is compulsory from the 5th to the 10th, and that's quite a long time. 3 more years of torture for me...
Dark
Without math, many of the things we currently have today would still be jokes that people threw around when talking about the future. "An aeroplane? No way! That's impossible!" Imagine that in 2050.
