For #1 - That is true. Some people can't be reasoned with. Now my question is, if you torture someone and got nothing from him or her, what does that make you?

 

For #2 - I would disagree on this. Even in death one may not be in peace. I think that as long as there's hate, there can be no peace.

 

For #3 - That would be a question of morality. If that's how you're brought up, then 90% of the time, that's how you'll end.
