Malice
[align=center]Plot Duel Monsters. In our time, it is a simple card game played by both children and adults alike. In the past, however, it was a far more deadly affair. In ancient Egypt, the images on what we know as duel monster cards were used in battles and wars between pharaohs, priests, and those humans with the ability to not only connect to their world, but summon them to ours. Today, the connection to the world of the monsters has almost been completely severed. Almost, but not entirely. The monsters can appear as visions to those human that they deem suitable. Pure hearted monsters seek out humans whom also put their hearts in the right place, while evil monsters search out the scum of humanity. However, if a human denies having such visions, they eventually will not be able to see the monster at all, and thus forever lose the ability to connect with the strange world. Additionally, humans that can see the monsters, have some tie to the past, some link to their origins in ancient Egypt. As time unfolds, so will lost memories of a past life, and realizations of the dangers that the futures holds for all involved. What significance does all this have? None, thus far, but the time has come for things to change. An alignment of planets and stars, and a series of galactic rotations will result in the human and monster realm temporarily aligning in a specific area, allowing the monsters to meet the humans they have chosen as their 'partners', but also letting something else pass through the opening... Something far more sinister then even the most malicious of monsters. Info ** We need a Pharaoh, but it would have to be a super awesome application for me to accept it. ;D** Everyone will get a human AND a monster. If you have a monster, you must have a human counter part for it, the bond between the two are key in determining your monsters strength. Also, to help get things going, you'll be allowed two main human and monster characters, this should help us expand and grow a little faster. Attack and defense of the Yu Gi Oh cards are irrelevant here. Pick what you actually like, not what you think is 'powerful.' Rules I highly prefer if you play a good character for the moment, otherwise you have to MAIL me for us to discuss it. - This is mostly because I want us all to be together, and I don't want anyone to get left out. No making up random sub plots, if you have any ideas, mail me and we can work it out! I am quite reasonable. If anyone so much as asks to have a god, earthbound immortal, or those dark gods that I currently forget the name of, as a partner, they will be auto-rejected. Which brings me to my next point, please try to choose a reasonably sized monster. A huge Red Eyes Black Dragon stomping around is quite obvious. I'd like if there was a variety in the types of monsters chosen. For instance, if you notice there is a warrior, a dragon and a machine type already accepted, I would greatly appreciate you choosing a monster of a different type. This will help greatly later on in the Role Play, and thus is something I would greatly appreciate. :) Sign Up Skeleton: Name:Age:Appearance: Description or picture or a character original to YOU. Her hair is black, her eyes are green, and her boots are just as black as her hair. Additionally, she wears faded jeans, a grey undershirt, and a white tee, as seen in the image. Bio: To come.Role in the past: In ancient times, Riley, with a currently unknown name, worked alongside a master of magic that resembles the Dark Magician of Chaos. She served as his apprentice, and often relayed messages between her master and the pharaoh, whom they both served with pride. Though they lived within the great palace of the pharaoh, they resided in a special section that overlooked the graveyard. This area was off limits to everyone, aside the two, as it was filled with many ancient scrolls and valuable objects that treasure hunters coveted. Duel Monster: The Dark Magician of Chaos [spoiler=Blazinghydra's Sign Up]Name: Ryull Iris RaptureAge: 22Appearance: Black haired man with a tall stature, about 6'5". His hair is impeccably straight and would drop to near the bottom of his back, but is currently tied in a strange topknot-like-braid, and such falls only down to the middle of his back. He wears silver-rimmed rectangular glasses, and has greyish blue eyes and small pupils, with a smaller, pointed nose and a triangular, smaller than usual face. His body build is fairly light and slim, with his shoulders being more or less the only sturdy part of his body. His limbs can even be described as 'feminine' or 'bony' from the lack of muscle structure, length, and apparent frailty of them, though he is a fairly quick runner. His clothing is generally a long-sleeved white windbreaker with a length similar to a coat, beneath which he wears a normal, sleeveless black shirt. He wears a pair of silky white pants, tied around with a simple black belt with a silver buckle. He carries a silver walking cane, which he can attach to the side of his belt when necessary, purely for fashion (though he does occasionally use to to act frail).Bio: (Slightly unfair you get to ignore this one, heh)Allegedly a normal university student, people who have stayed around Ryull have quickly caught onto the fact he is not really "Normal". He's been diagnosed in the past with sociopathy, though he is inclined to disagree. His past was odd. Born to a pair of relatively normal parents who were fairly devout Anglicans, he responded to attempts to get him to attend church by briefly adopting the Ancient Egyptian religion, worshiping Set at age 8. By age 10, he was failing school, often due to him either never doing homework or filling in tests with random things that almost never applied to the task at hand. He was held back at least once. And then, when he got bored of failing, he promptly skipped courses with genius grades which befuddled everyone involved until he was once again placed in his proper grade. Ryull repeatedly shows he has the mental power of a genius -On an accurate IQ test, scoring 171-, but either doesn't have the drive or particular want to excel. Early attempts by his parents to control his behavior always failed, due to Ryull's odd abilities to understand people and their scenarios better than everyone else does. To Ryull, people are dancing puppets, or pieces on a chess board that he can move for his own personal gain. Or, if it amuses him, let them think they have control.Once in University, Majoring in Biology and Psychology while still taking minors in Ancient Religions and Advanced Trigonometry, he showed the tedancy to wonder aloud about anything and everything, before promptly surprising even his professors with his advanced knoledge of pretty much everyone. His old roommates all swear that, in the night, he practiced voodoo that allowed him to know their every move, which was furthered by his repeated claims of seeing a cloaked skeleton in his dreams, throned by a pile of human bones, telling him he has a great destiny before him.Role in the past: In the ages gone by, Ryull was once a Necromancer of great renown. Employed by kingdoms to aid them in wars, his prices were not always conventional, nor always wise; At some point, his skill was known famously enough that making a deal with him was akin to making a deal with a devil. In one of his earlier missions, He aided a barbarous king from West Egypt take out his rival with an army of shadow soldiers, who then refused to pay the Dark Mage. In retaliation, Ryull cursed the palace and all those within it, calling locusts to devour their flesh and transform them into horrific, mindless skeletons; The king himself was turned into one of the undead, but begged the Necromancer for forgiveness. Ryull, feeling either compassion or further cruelty, allowed the now-Undead king to retain his sentience if he pledged his undying loyalty to the Necromancer, and awarded him the palace. From then on, the palace was known as the Temple of Skulls; prospective clients would ring the bell at the base of it to call down one of the skeletal servants in order to call out the Necromancer. The mindless bone slaves were dubbed the Skull Servants; beings who lived only to serve their master. The king, though a Skull Servant himself, kept his sentience even after the Necromancer long disappeared from society, calling himself the King of the Skull Servants, and the lord of the dust, for that was all that remained due to his arrogance and ego.Duel Monster: King of the Skull Servants. He is somewhat social, and cynical. Role in the past: In the past, Plato was Egypt's head spy. He served the Pharaoh, above all, and because of his loyalty, was taught how to summon Monsters. He took a liking to Gravekeepers. He never revoked his post, and he saved Egypt from quite a few unneccesary wars, with his spies's help. He dissappeared from history not too long after the death of the pharaoh, as if he never existed. Some historians say he was not real. But, Plato is proof he was. Malice
Sorry Big Rod, but this is an 'advanced' RP, and chat speak is a big no-no in this type of RP. And also, you're supposed to be RPing in the third person perspective, not first person.

Malice
(You two are accepted as well. This is the intro post of the RP, more or less to give you an idea of how the environment is and such. With it, we shall begin the RP, so have your human and monster somewhat close by so that the monsters can move out of 'limbo' and into the human world.) The cooling night air nipped at the tip of Riley's nose, causing it to turn a light shade of pink that looked out of place on her pale face. She sniffled a little, hunching her shoulders subconsciously in an attempt to bring herself a little more warmth. It was odd, really, that such a beautiful night felt so bitter and cold, even while fall was nearing. A stray leaf tumbled along the sidewalk, allowing Riley only a glimpse of orange before swirling on it's way. Several more leaves, as well as some trash, became tangled in the gusts of blowing wind, only to be hastily deposited in a puddle, where they remained. Sighing, the female slid her hands into the pockets of her jacket, squinting her eyes slightly against the wind, which seemed to be growing even colder. Her head tilted upwards the slightest, allowing her to peer at the full moon that stood out perfectly in the sky, without so much as a wisp of cloud to block it from sight. "So this is the night, huh?" She asked, though seemed to have her doubts about the subject, whatever it may have been. Had there been anyone else around, she would have looked like a fool, but because she was alone, she took the opportunity to once more question the 'spirit' that continued to 'bless' her with his presence. "It is," assured a voice that only she, and people like her, could hear. The transparent man that had spoken these words walked beside her, seemingly unaffected by the atmosphere. "Not another false alarm?" She continued to press, nuzzling her face carefully into the front of her jacket as she did so. As she continued, her voice was muffled, and barely audible, "Not like the last time? Or the time before that? Or the time before th-" "Enough," he said simply, holding up a hand to further signal that he did not wish to hear her doubts. In his hand, he staff was grasped firmly, fingers wrapped so tightly around the object that it looked as though either his fingers, or the staff itself would surely splinter at any moment. "I'm sure this time... Even the earth knows it... And she's responding to the change with this weather," he explained, outstretching a hand as a snowflake fell towards them, he stared sadly as it simply phased through his hand. Slowly, he curled his fingers to a fist, drawing it in closer to his body and remaining silent. "I'm sure that I can cross over soon... That I'll be out of this state of 'limbo' in a short while." Riley's eyes softened slightly as he spoke. He had often told her of his 'adventures' in limbo. She cringed to think of how lonely he must have been, traveling the earth, invisible to nearly every creature he met, be it human or otherwise. She pitied him further for having no memory of anything that happened before he wole up on earth, essentially as a ghost. A smile played at her lips as she recalled the first time they had met. It had been simple, but the memory was ever lasting. She had been a mere child, out shopping with her mother at an outdoor market. She had plucked a ripe apple from a barrel, with some difficulty, due to her height, and was about to bring it to her mother when she him. The blue man, hovering beside her. The apple fell from her hand and she simply stared, terrified eyes following his movements. She recalled how shocked he had looked when he realized he had been spotted. Which was followed quickly by an awkward dance of glee, which had startled her as a child, sending her bawling to her mother. Riley turned her head to look at him as she thought, moving just quickly enough to note his eyes dart away. She smiled faintly, closing her eyes and strolling along quietly. And he's been with me ever since, she thought. She had always considered him to be a sort of guardian angel, that only she were able to see. Now that there was a chance everyone else would be able to see him as well, she could not help but feel a tad jealous. Her little secret would no longer be her own. A shudder ran down her spine, and she instinctively grasped her arms. It was not a quiver caused by the cold, but more of a mechanism of the body to signal the mind that there was something afoot, as if the wacky weather was not enough. "It feels so... Unnatural... Outside..." She whispered slowly, hugging herself a little as illogical human fears swarmed around in her mind. "It's because you're connected to the spirit world of limbo," the Dark Magician of Chaos pointed out, tucking his staff under his arms, he rubbed his palms anxiously together, "It's really happening this time!" He exclaimed, feeling increasingly excited as he gazed forwards, at what appeared to be a large, dark vortex, something most would take to be a bad thing, while he, however, let out a call of glee to the skies. Riley appeared startled by his actions, having never heard him so excited in all their days together. She looked to the ominous presence in the sky, brows furrowed skeptically, "It looks more like it wants to swallow the world then help you... Do whatever..." She whispered, looking to him. "Silly girl, that's why I'm going through the vortex. It should bring me to this world from the next!" He chimed, nearly dancing as they made their way towards it. He furrowed his brows as he realized how far from it they were. It seemed to be lingering over the outskirts of the city, far out in the middle of no where. Upon discovering this, he began to pick up his pace. "Should? What if it doesn't? What if it..." Riley's voice trailed off as she followed him, suddenly getting a sour feeling in her stomach. Her companion paused, turning to her with a hint of a smile, "Then don't forget about me, and just hope I'm in a better place," he commented, reaching to pet her head, but as always, his hand phased through. He cringed at the sight, shaking his head, "I'm sorry, if you don't understand, or if everything goes wrong, but... I have to do this... You don't know what it's like to be invisible..." He told her, shaking his head softly, he turned away slowly, before breaking out into a run, his long legs carrying him swiftly towards the vortex. "I saw you..." Riley whispered, almost sounding bitter. She wasted no time in following him, however. She dashed down the streets, startling the normal folk, whom seemed completely and utterly unaware of the threat looming over head. (As you can guess, there's going to be a lot that only our main characters can see. Just because I love the idea of a spirit world and that jazz. xD)
Immortal Chaos
(First off....wow, nice introl, secondly, sweet!) Jain had been walking for sometime, listening to the female voice in his head. He smiled softly, though it was cold, the voice made him feel like he had a friend to talk to. "So tell me again why we're out here in the freezing cold?" The female laughed softly, a heartwarming laugh. "Because something is going to happen tonight. I can feel it Jain." Jain looked over his shoulder, noticing the form of his companion walking behind him. "Please walk next to me, I hate looking over my shoulder." He smiled softly as he watched her walk up to him. He looked up into the sky, seeing his breath as he walked. The girl smiled and jumped alittle. "What's that?" Jain pointed up towards the Vortex, that seemed pretty close to them. "That's what I've been waiting for Jain." the girl replied.

Malice
(Locked and unlocked, all while I was away. o_o; ) (Thanks Flashman. ^^) "Still so far away," The Dark Magician of Chaos uttered as he ran, legs stretching to their full potential to carry him as fast as he could potentially, throwing his dark hair around his head wildly. The human that trailed behind him was faring far worse, however. 'Since when can he run so fast?' She asked herself, feeling the bitter winds tearing at her face. Riley clamped her eyes shut, running blindly against the elements, 'Right... He's never really run before... And nothing in this world slows him down... He feels no fatigue,' a ragged sigh left her lungs, and she had to force herself to stop running for a moment. Bending over slightly, she rest her hands on her knees, panting so harshly that small wisps of 'fog' passed her lips. Licking her somewhat chapped lips, Riley rose her gaze to the sky. To the large hole that swirled about in the clouds, greedily drawing in more and more clouds, she wondered for a moment, how something so dark could be seen at night, but allowed the thought to pass when she realized just how much further ahead of herself her friend had gotten. Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to once more begin the strenuous run. Meanwhile, the spirit man paid no heed to her, completely oblivious that she had fallen so far behind, he was far to concentrated on the goal. Becoming a solid being in this world. From there, nothing mattered. He would be able to be seen, and that was that. He would be a part of their world. The human world. A world that likely would not accept him, as they had rejected many other things in the past. A world that would frown upon him, and treat him as some 'alien' creature. Which he was. A world that, perhaps, would look to exterminate him. None of these things crossed his minds as he launched himself into the sky, 'swimming' towards the gaping vortex that began to suck him in, drawing him into the darkness... Bringerofcake
"The vortex has opened, Demias.""WHAT VORTEX?! You've been saying infinfite variations of the SAME DAMN THING!!""You're being testy again."Demias would've thrown the book at him right then, if he saw a point to it. For now, the only thing that it would do is waste time and a book. His studying was most important, as there was a major quiz in Chem tomorrow night, something that he NEEDED to pass. And while he had gotten used to the presence of the Guardian of Order, he hadn't gotten used to conversation while studying."I know. That's because I hate to be interrupted while I prepare for important things. Like studying for the Chem test that's TOMORROW!""I must enter this vortex, or-""Yes, yes, 'all I know and hold dear', I get it.""That's not what I meant.""Whatever. Alright, if we go to this Vortex thing, will you let me alone for a few hours when we get back?""I shall practice combat techniques in the backyard.""Deal. Right, away we go."The two left the room, and headed downstairs."Mother? I'm headed out for awhile!""Alright, dear! Be back in a few hours!""Heh," he muttered, "that's when you'll be asleep." Hydra of Ages
"A vortex has opened up." a silent creature observed, his ragged clothes ruffling a little in the invisible wind. His eyeless face was smirking evilly, as that was all that a skull was capable of. He gave a silent, gravely chuckle, that would have sent shivers up any other mortal's spine."But I guess that you knew that already, didn't you?" he said offhandedly, still chuckling a little. A man reclining on a couch chuckled also, his glasses glinting in the slant light emitting from the window before him. His hands were placed behind his head as he smirked a little. "Perhaps. And, I am to assume that you are to go to this vortex?" He asked, smiling like a Cheshire Cat but not opening his eyes. "Maybe." His roomate responded. "Invisible or not, I am a Phantom either way. A Mockery of Life." He said with dark glee infesting his words. "So." The human began. "Where does this Vortex go?" "You know already, of course." "You've never mentioned it. "You know anyway. That's simply how you are." "Indulge me." The skeleton seemed to smirk. Of course, it did this all the time, but at the moment, it seemed startlingly appropriate. "Why, here of course." It said nonchalantly. The human got up and ran a hand through his black hair. "Well, in that case..." He said calmly, picking up a black coat and covering himself. "We should get going. After all..." He gave a grin. "I wouldn't want to miss our ticket to here."
Malice
Riley watched in pure horror as the vortex swallowed her friend. Needless to say, adrenaline kicked in, giving her system a much needed boost that brought her directly under the vortex. Her head tilted back as far as it possibly could, staring directly in the swirling darkness, which took the breath right out of her lungs. It felt so unnatural, like no human was supposed to look upon it. Slowly, she fell to her knees, her hands clasping her thighs gently, she dismissed her sudden weakness as her being out of shape, and merely falling victim to an adrenaline crash. Cautiously, she rose her eyes to the sky once more, this time avoiding direct 'eye contact' with the ominous hole in the atmosphere. As something began to emerge from the wounded sky, she felt a cold hand grasp her heart, and soon moved both hands over the left side of her chest, in some weak attempt to ease the tension. Immortal Chaos
It wasn't long before Jain and Dark Magician Girl arrived at the vortex entrance. Looking at his partner he looked alittle worried. "Are you sure you want to go through with this?" He asked, but before he could get an answer, the Dark Magician Girl leapt into the vortex, leaving Jain on the ground.
Bringerofcake
"My word." were the only words Demias could say after witnessing the scene that lay before him. He rushed over to the young girl who lay before him, meeting up with a younger gentleman in the process."Young lady, are you all right?" he asked. Guardian of Order was right behind him, heading for the Vortex. He leapt through at an amazing rate, skidding on the ground when he came through."At last! I am corporeal! I exist!" Malice
"Y-Yeah," Riley managed to murmur, in response to the two males that approached her, though she remained on her knees, which was likely a good thing, considering not only the fact that a 'spirit' had solidified before her, nor the fact that her own companion formed, but rather, what followed him out of the portal. At first, the feet of the Dark Magician of Chaos were visible, though his body slowly emerged as he descended towards the earth, staff in hand as always, he seemed incredibly pleased with himself, as he stood, looking at an open palm. His second thought was to see where his human had wandered off to, only to find her on the ground, which worried him, but not as much as the sudden thickening of the atmosphere. From the very vortex that was allowing the spirits to cross into the human world, began to spill a thick, black substance, which started to crowd the sky. The way the thing line of darkness moved resembled that of a breaking glass. Several small fractures in the sky rocketed across it, branching out into many veins that were thick and pulsating in the night sky. "I... I think we did a bad thing..." Riley whispered, gazing upwards, her green eyes once more filled with terror, not of the vortex, but rather the monster she saw through the forming cracks. Something was attempting to cross into her world. Something that was not allowed to leave it's confinements.
Immortal Chaos
Jain watched in awe as he watched the Dark Magician Girl decend to the ground. Landing on a knee she looked up at Jain and instantly tackled him. "Oh my goodness, its soooooo good to actually be here." Jain fell to the ground when she tackled him. "Well, its nice to see you too, you were gone for a second though." He laughed, but it stoped when he saw what was happening in the sky.
