RyanAtlus
Almost no knowledge about book 1 is required, but here's the link anyways: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-89474.html For those who don't like reading (gtfo), here's a short recap:
The Story of a Legend Continues] Saitu finds out Seto Kaiba was his grandfather and inherits his Deck. After meeting Ryan, Alice and Jane, the Battle City Tournament is announced. All of them find their way through the preliminaries, and in Domino City, Saitu meets his granduncle Mokuba Kaiba and Katrina Pegasus, granddaughter of Maximillion Pegasus. He learns of the legend of the six Orbs, and eventually aquires them all, along with the card 'Obelisk the Tormentor', which he uses in the Finals. After winning the tournament, all the Orbkeepers are transported to Egypt to face Anubis, who had been trying to seal the power of all the Orbs in his Pyramid of Light. All his friends are defeated one by one, but eventually Yugi and Mokuba come to help. Together they manage to defeat him, but Anubis manages to get a Draw, thereby comatizing Saitu. So, without further ado, here it is!
Prologue: The Day after Tomorrow] In a world that resembled ours in many ways, there was an island isolated from the rest of the parallel universe. On this particular island, called Insopia, there had been a long crisis just a few years ago. And wherever there is a corpse, there are vultures trying to get their part of it.The vulture that had been slowly circling over Insopia was named Ludwig Tönisteiner. He had promised work and a better economy; he alone had a plan, only he could help the poor and needy. But in order to do this, he would need all the political power. As you read it right now, you might think that no one would be so stupid to give him that power. It wouldn’t be the first time, however, that a charismatic man could formulate his ideas so well that everyone put their confidence in him. Ludwig seized control of the country. He managed to re-establish the order in less than a month, and everyone applauded him in everything he did. But a certain day, he decided that only the strong-willed could have everything that they wanted. There was no good nor evil; only might and those who are too feeble to use it. He believed that a card game we all know in today’s world as Duel Monsters could seperate strong and weak people from each other. He had special elites keeping an eye on all the game stores. Whenever a weak player was spotted, he or she was sent to an isolated village nearby. Almost nobody could get in nor out of those villages, until they could prove themselves to be worthy Duelists. Not everyone who was obligated to go and live in those little private villages came along voluntarily. The Snatchers, as the special elite was called, often used violence to cut rotten pieces of the apple. Two people who had objected against the Snatchers had disappeared never to be seen again, and their daughter, Ann, was thereby forced to survive in Dunaco all by herself. She hadn’t heard anything from her parents ever since she had arrived there. She herself thought her story had ended there; that she would be trapped in this village untill her death. But she didn’t know her future was about to change...
Characters]
Main Characters]
Ann]Full Name: Ann EspiroAppearance: normal length, long blonde-red hair, clear blue eyesAge: 17 at the beginning of Ch.1Bio: Ann grew up with her parents in Bolow, a village in the east of Insopia. She attended the local public school and high school untill the age of 16, and was then planning to switch to a Duel Academy, despite her rather weak Dueling skills. However, on her sixteenth birthday, the regime of Ludwig Tönisteiner started, and her parents immediatly joined the ADP, the 'All Duelists' Party'. Shortly after that, she came home to find them kidnapped, and was taken away to Dunaco by the Snatchers herself, where she lived alone. The only person she knew there was Herman McPhinnigan, an old colleague of her father.Character: Before the Krieg, Ann was very open and many liked her. She was very close with her mother, but sometimes they would contradict each other. After Tönisteiner seized control, she seems very depressed, and has not yet accepted the disappearance of her parents. The lack of real friends in Dunaco has caused her to become introvert, untill Saitu came along. Due to his presence, she has learnt to live her life again. Weather Report - Stand
Oh, you're the one who wrote that 'awesome' story that just ended? Yeah, I REALLY think that this is gonna be good too. I'm going to take you down a peg. Just so you know THIS IS A FAKE REVIEW. IT SHALL BE POSITIVE.Here it is: the sequel to 'Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Story of a Legend Continues'!Absolutely no knowledge about book 1 is required' date=' but here's the link anyways:No knowledge required?! So what'll we do when we see 'Bill' or 'Frank' appear for no reason?!http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-89474.html So, without further ado, here it is!Yeah, tryin' to act like it'll take off immediately...
Prologue: The Day after Tomorrow]In a world that resembled ours in many ways, there was an island isolated from the rest of the parallel universe. On this particular island, called Insopia, there had been a long crisis just a few years ago. And wherever there is a corpse, there are vultures trying to get their part of it.The vulture that had been slowly circling over Insopia was named Ludwig Tönisteiner.Oh, so it's on Earth, but not quite? What kind of stupid island is 'Insopia'?! That's such an unoriginal name!! And what's up with that vulture?! Why should it have a name? How STUPID!!He had promissed work and a better economy; he alone had a plan, only he could help the poor and needy. But in order to do this, he would need all the political power. You just mispeled 'promised'. This story now RELLY sucks. And why was it promised such things? Vultures don't have jobs, they don't care about the economy! All they do is eat stuff that died, and other vulture things! As you read it right now, you might think that no one would be so stupid to give him that power. It wouldn’t be the first time, however, that a charismatic man could formulate his ideas so well that everyone put their confidence in him.Well, DUH, who'd give a DUMB BIRD POLITICAL POWER?!Ludwig seized control of the country. He managed to re-establish the order in less than a month, and everyone applauded him in everything he did.HOLY CRAP!! HOW DID THE VULTURE DO THAT?! THIS MAKES NO SENSE!! I---Uh--Eh--I JUST DON'T GET THIS!!But a certain day, he decided that only the strong-willed could have everything that they wanted. There was no good nor evil; only might and those who are too feeble to use it. He believed that a card game we all know in today’s world as Duel Monsters could seperate strong and weak people from each other.Oh, so he'd 'seperate' them, so that he could eat them and live off of those weaklings who can't win a trading card game based on strategy and luck! Yeah, tough luck.He had a special elite keeping an eye on all the game stores. Whenever a weak player was spotted, he or she was sent to an isolated village nearby. Almost nobody could get in nor out of those villages, until they could prove themselves to be worthy Duelists. So there's ONE guy out there...
I'll call him Jim. And this guy is at EVERY SINGLE CARD SHOP IN THE WORLD AT THE SAME TIME AND SENDS PEOPLE INTO SOME CRAPSACK VILLAGE WHERE THEY CAN'T BUY CARDS AND THEY'RE STUCK UNTIL THEY GET BETTER CARDS?! And once more, tell me WHY this vulture is still in power?!
She hadn’t heard anything from her parents ever since she had arrived there.YEAH, I'D LOVE TO LIVE IN A LEGO SET. Why would people volunteer to live in Crapsack Village (that's the name of it)? And they aren't the SnatchERS, they're the Snatchy, since there is only one guy out there. And he is named Jim. REMEMBER?! And why is the village named Dunaco? That's so dumb-sounding! It's like you pulled a random word out of your butt and slapped it onto the computer screen... ugh, I wish I'd never said that. She herself thought her story had ended there; that she would be trapped in this village untill her death. But she didn’t know her future was about to change... This is the dumbest story ever. So a vulture takes over an island/world, then makes everybody play a trading card game for survival?! WHAT KIND OF STORY IS THIS?! And what's up with that guy at EVERY STORE AT THE SAME TIME?!?! THIS IS STUPID. THIS SHOULD BE ABANDONED. But really, it's great. It sets up the situation, however odd it may be, and I realize that he was just described as a vulture. But he let a much bigger impression that the little girl who will likely become the main focus in this story, so maybe you should get on that as soon as possible. Now, watch this:
RyanAtlus

Six o’clock...an outdated alarm clock began to play. The sound was so muffled that you could barely make out the song. Ann’s hand came from under the blankets and hit the snooze button. Again, another day in Dunaco. She opened her eyes and sat up straight, and observed the room she was in with half-opened eyes. The room wasn’t too big nor too small. The walls were a boring shade of grey, and the only furniture in it were a bed, an oversized Desk covered with paperwork, a metal chair, a wooden IKEA closet and several bookshelves attached to the walls. On her nightstand, there were only three things; the alarm clock, a lamp and an old picture showing a red-haired woman an a tall blonde man, with a little girl about six years old standing in between them. She turned the alarm of, and stood up. She was dressed in an oversized white night gown, and rubbed her eyes while walking into a small bathroom. She turned on the light and was blinded by the light; the bathroom was entirely white. Shiny tiles, a toilet, a shower and a sink attached to the wall, with a classic mirror cabinet hanging above it: everything that had to be in a bathroom was present in Ann’s, but it still seemed so empty. The entire house always seemed empty, she thought while brushing her teeth. She quickly combed her long, reddish hair. It wasn’t really red; it was very light, almost blonde. It was obvious she had inherited her hair colour from both her parents. When she left the house, dressed in a blue jeans, greyish T-shirt, white sport shoes and a long black raincoat, she felt the chilly Octobre wind running through her hair. Her neighbour, Herman McPhinnigan was just leaving too, like always clad in a boring black costume, his grey hair neatly combed.“Hi Herman.”“Hey, Ann. Off to work?” He was always friendly towards her, unlike some of the other older citizens of Dunaco.“Yeah...today’s gonna be awesome...” she replied sarcastically. “Always fun to work at Colmart’s...”“Could you bring me some eggs? I’ll repay you tonight.”“Okay, no problem. See you!”She walked on, and Mr McPhinnigan left in the other direction. She spent the rest of the day scanning products behind the cash register. It was dull, but at least it was a job. She talked with some of the customers before they inserted some kind of credit card into a light blue device. Even tough she had been working at Colmart’s for only two months, she knew most of the regular customers. At six PM, she hung her apron back where she had picked it up this morning; on the chair where she had been sitting all day. She quickly took two boxes of eggs from a shelf in the back of the store and inserted her own card. She said bye to her colleagues, all of them several years older than her, and left the store. It didn’t take her long to get home; after a few minutes, she had put the eggs in the fridge and was getting ready to leave for the nearby game club. All she did was re-combing her hair in the depressing bathroom and strapping on her Duel Disk. It wasn’t one of the newest models, but at least it was equipped with Solid Vision, which meant it was useable. Unlike the rest of the house, it was coloured vivid purple. Her usual gamestore was further away than the supermarket, but it was usually worth the trip. By Dueling, people would earn Duel Points, DP for short. DP was the local current in Dunaco, and that’s what people used to pay. She usually won about 500 DP per evening, which wasn’t too bad for someone her level. She was thinking about what packs she’d buy tonight, but it didn’t really matter. She was never lucky when it came to opening packs. Lost in thought, she didn’t even notice being followed, untill she was going through a deserted street. As far as Ann knew, the houses here hadn’t been a home to anyone for years, for she never saw lights burning in them. A handcuff-like device suddenly found it’s way around her wrist, and she turned around in surprise. The other end of the wire was attached to the wrist of a boy who seemed to be in his mid-twenties, clad in a greenish costume not unlike the snatchers wore.“Whoopsie. Seems like my Dueling Cuff got a hold of you.”He smiled as Ann tried to undo it.“What’s the deal with this?”“Nothing at all, miss.” he said with a curt nod. “But I’m a bit short of money lately, and it seems you’ve some on your credit card. Just put it in your Duel Disk and fork it all over.”“No.” she replied fiercely. “Go get yourself a job, you punk.”“Fine. Have it your way.”Her Duel Disk unfolded, and the screen lit up.“What? You can’t force me into a Duel unless I accept!”He snickered. “With ordinary Disks, I can’t. But with this baby, things like that are possible.”His Disk was coloured in shades of grey and green. Ann recognized it, and then recognized the man.“Aren’t you Sy Macend, the one who got in second in the Inovatech competition a few weeks ago?”“Yup. That’s me. I was second. Even tough technologies like these are way more usefull than way-too-advanced computer programs?”“So now you’re pickpocketing people like a tramp, just because you lost?”“Shut up!” he suddenly yelled. “Prove what you can do, because I’m one of the best Duelists in town, and I’ll show you right away! Draw!” He Drew six cards from his Duel Disk, and Ann Drew five.“I’ll Summon Morphtronic Cameran to my side of the field, in attack mode!”As he placed one of his cards on his Disk, a big red camera appeared. It folded open and revealed to be a little human-like robot. (800/600)“That was it for this Turn.”“Then I Draw!” Ann replied. “And I’ll Summon something a bit stronger than your Monster! Go, Dunames Dark Witch!”An angel with black armor and big silvery wings fell out of the sky. (1800/1850)“Dunames Dark Witch, attack his Cameran!”The fairy destroyed the machine with a single strike, and Sy took the blow. (LP 7000)“Thanks, missy. Now I can summon Morphtronic Celfon from my hand!"He laughed upon seeing a yellow phone-shaped robot appearing onto his side of the field. (100/100)“Well, that concludes my Turn I guess...” Sy’s smile grew wider.“Draw! I’ll activate my Celfon’s effect. Let’s make a quick call!”The numbers one through six of Celfon began to flash at random. Eventually, the number four was indicated.“Good! Now I’ll pick up the top four cards from my Deck and Special Summon one Morphtronic Monster from them!” he looked at the cards, and placed one of them on the monster card zone next to Celfon, and put the rest back in his Deck for re-shuffling. A slightly bigger robot appeared, this one in the shape of a radio. (1000/900).“Allright.” Ann said, slightly puzzled by the second weak-looking machine. “What’s it’s trick?”“His trick, ma’am, consists of powering up all my Morphtronics by 800 points!”“What?”Something that looked like a lightning strike connected the radio and the phone. (1800/900 900/100)“And now, I’ll Summon a third monster! Go, Morphtronic Boarden!”A third machine, looking like one of those D-Boards kids played with appeared in between the others, immeadiately being powered up too. (500/1800 >>> 1300/1800)“Now, Morphtronics, attack her directly!”The three machines jumped over the witch in a triangular formation, hitting Ann with an electrical charge. She got knocked over, causing Sy to have to take a step forward if he didn’t want to topple. (8000 – (1800 + 900 + 1300) = 4000)“How did you do that?” she asked on a frustrated tone as the Monsters flew back to their master. “I still controlled a Monster!” She got up again, and and Sy laughed out loud.“Due to my Boarden, all Morphtronic Monsters can attack directly. What’d you think of that? Now I set two, and end my Turn.”Two holograms of face-down cards appeared behind his Monsters. Ann was in a tough situation, but she’d get out of it soon.“Draw!” she said confidentially. “I Summon Shining Abyss in attack mode!”A second fairy appeared next to her Witch. It looked as if it was built out of several blue balls, decorated with big golden wings and other golden pieces. (1600/1800)“I attack Boarden with my Dunames Dark Witch!”The witch flew forwards to attack the skateboard, but a blue, shiny net appeared between the two of them.“Trap Card activate! Morphtronic Bind! While I control a Morphtronic Monster, monsters with a level equal to or higher than four cannot attack.” He seemed to enjoy this Duel in a sadistic way. “You’re blocked, and I’ll finish you next Turn.”“We’ll see about that. I set a card, and end my Turn!”A hologram appeared on her side too, and Sy drew a card.“You’ll hit zero, whatever you’ve got there. Morphtronics, attack!”The robots jumped at her again, and were blocked by a shiny silvery shield.“My own Trap Card! Mirror Force destroys all of your monsters when they attack!”Sy flipped up his own card, and the silver barrier was destroyed.“Morphtronic Forcefield negates a card that would destroy a Morphtronic and destroys it. Nice try tough.”The machines’ attack went through, and Ann took the blow once again. The handcuff loosed and flew back to Sy. The holograms faded away, but Ann didn’t see it happen. her eyes closed as she lay on the sidewalk. Sy walked over to her, and put the credit card from Ann’s Disk into his. He tapped the touch screen a few times, and then put it back.He walked away without looking back, extremely satisfied with himself. A few hours passed, and everything started to get dark. Nobody seemed to have gone through the street, for Ann was still lying there quite motionless. The streetlights went on, and her eyes opened for a second, and then closed again. The only thing she had seen was a tall figure a few metres away from her. She heard his footsteps getting closer, and then became unconcious again...
One of the many Fairy Monsters in Ann’s Deck, and the strongest level 4 she possesses.
Everything seemed kind of blurry to Ann when she woke up the next day. She was awake, but had not yet opened her eyes. Had everything that happened the day before really happen? Hadn’t it just been a weird dream? It might have, for she felt she was lying on her own mattress instead of on the corner of Druid Lane. Strangely enough, she felt as if she was still dressed in her T-shirt and her jeans, and she saw that what she had thought was true when she finally opened her eyes. She saw her coat was hanging over the chair next to her desk, and that her shoes had been neatly put under it. What had happened? Had she found her way home without really realizing it? Or had someone taken her? There had been footsteps. Footsteps that had been nearing her. It was the last thing she could still remember. She sat up straight, and tried to think of whether she had seen a face, or heard a name. Six o’clock. Her alarm clock went off. An old song which she recognized as being one from Tom Jones. It’s not unusual to be loved by anyone. It’s not unusual to have fun with anyone. But when I see you hanging about with anyone,it’s not unusual to- She turned the radio off. Even tough she did not dislike Tom, she wasn’t in the mood. What had happened? She had lost consciousness the night before, and was now at home. Someone had brought her for sure. Then suddenly, the silence was broken. Footsteps. She listened carefully, and noticed they were coming out of her own living room. She quickly got up, jumped into her shoes and ran into the living room herself, just in time to see the front door closing. What should she do? She noticed two pillows lying at the end of her sofa. The person that had just left must’ve spent the night here. Without thinking, she ran back into her bedroom and put on her coat. She then dashed through the front door, and looked left and right. She saw a man disappearing behind the corner, and she ran behind him.“Wait!” she yelled, just before he could pass another corner. He turned around, looking at her in a puzzled expression.“I...- Did you...- Why...?” She was breathing very fast due to the short run. He put a hand onto her shoulder, and looked her in the eyes.He had great green eyes, and a sharp but friendly look on his face. His short brown hair had obviously not been combed for a few days. He was wearing a black jeans, and a dark T-shirt of which the text was barely readable. In his other hand, he was carrying a long black coat and a grey backpack.“I thought it was only logical to do. Who knows what would’ve happened to you?”He turned around and walked away, but she didn’t want him to leave so soon.“Don’t leave yet! How did you know where I live!”She was now walking next to him, and it took him several seconds to answer.“You were carrying a Duel Disk. I inserted the card lying next to it in it, and I managed to find your ID. I then carried you home.”“But why? I mean, you could’ve just left.”“That would’ve been rude.”“I never would’ve known.”“It’s the principle that counts.”“Oh...”The continued walking together, in silence. It didn’t seem as if they were going somewhere.“Sorry for having stayed at your place tonight.”“It’s nothing...I mean, it was allready late and stuff...Where do you live?”“I don’t know. I’m not even sure whether I live in this town.”“Then how did you get here?”“I don’t know. I woke up yesterday morning, in the middle of a market place. It was still early, so I don’t think anyone saw me. I don’t know what happened or where I had been the day before, so I just started walking. I tought I was lucky when I found a street with some deserted houses, hoping one of their doors was open. But then I saw you, and decided I should help.”Ann saw everything in front of her. He must’ve awoken on St.-Edward’s Place.“So, where are you going to sleep tonight?” She had asked it before having thought of what he might answer. He took his time to answer her question again.“Dunno. Think I’ll try to find that street again, Druid Lane or however it was called.“You can stay with me if you want.”Whoops. Had she really said that? He stopped walking, and looked at her again.“Are you serious?”“Otherwise I wouldn’t have asked.” A few minutes later, they had arrived at Ann’s place again. She saw she had to leave for work, but then realized the man hadn’t eaten the past day.“Is it okay if I make you some scrambled eggs?” she asked. She wasn’t one of the best cooks around, but she managed to prepare a decent breakfast for two persons. She made a quick call, and managed to get half a day off. She had said she was feeling a bit ill.“So, what’s your name?”“My name? No idea?” He was obviously hungry, but he ate slowly, as if he was truly enjoying the five-minute meal.“But on the Duel Disk I was wearing, I found a name, that’s probably mine.”He opened his backpack, which was empty except for an old-looking Duel Disk without a Deck in it. Ann took it, and read the name ‘Saitu Kaiba’.“How old is this thing? It’s got a touch screen, but it doesn’t look as if it has Solid Vision installed on it.”“What’s Solid Vision?”, he asked, mildly interested.“It’s a program that makes your holograms have a physical impact.”“Sweet.” They kept talking for a few more hours. Saitu knew what Dueling was, but didn’t know whether he had ever done it, or what kind of Deck he had had. He seemed to be surprised about the existence of Solid Vision. Ann thought he had amnesia, for he couldn’t remember anything about his past. Eventually, she was asked what had happened the night before.“Morphtronics...the Machine Archetype whith effects depending on their Battle Position?”“Yeah.”Twelve o’clock came sooner than expected, and Ann left for work. She had promised to bring a new set of clothes, a toothbrush and pajamas for Saitu, for he didn’t have any of those things with him. She kept thinking about him during work. He seemed like a nice guy; someone she could trust. Would she finally have a friend in this village? She’d been stuck here for over a year now, but hadn’t really got into contact with many people, except some people from the card club. But this seemed different somehow... After work, she inserted her credit card into the machine the customers paid with, and was surprised to see she had finally got the raise she had been asking about. She quickly got a new jeans, a shirt, two T-shirts, two sets of underwear, pajamas, a comb and a toothbrush; everything in vivid blue. Some pizza’s for dinner, and she was of to go with two full plastic bags. She was surprised to see Saitu was waiting for her outside, with his backpack.“Hey. Should I help carrying?”They walked on, and Saitu told her he’d been bored, and after having met the man next door, had decided to go wait for her. Ann noticed they weren’t going in the right direction, but when she told him, he just laughed.“I want something to show you. Just come with me, no need to panic.”Ann did as she was told, and when they finally came to a stop, they found themselves back in Druid Lane. Saitu whistled loudly between his teeth.“Oi! Where are you? Come out’n play, won’t you?”“Saitu!” she hissed. “What are you-“She fell silent as Sy Macend came from around the corner, but Saitu only smiled.“Good...” Sy said. “Looks like our Fairy Princess is back. Brought a little friend for a rematch?”“No.” Saitu replied curtly. “I brought her here to show you you’re not so big as you appear to be. I’ll challenge you, and if I win, you’ll give her her money back.”“What’s in it for me?” he asked, a wicked smile appearing on his scarred face. Saitu took a Duel Disk out of his backpack, but it wasn’t the white one he had shown Ann earlier, but a purple one. And there was a Deck in it. Ann’s Deck.“I’m willing to bet this Deck, if you bet yours too.”Sy didn’t have to think about that for long.“Saitu, don’t!” she asked him in silence. “It’s the only Deck I’ve got.”He didn’t answer.“I accept your offer. This won’t take long.” He unfolded his Duel Disk, and Saitu did the same with Ann’s.“I’ve got to win this. If I don’t, I’ll never forgive myself...” Saitu thought.“Draw!” he said. “I set a monster and end my Turn. Give me all you got!”A hologram appeared, and Sy Drew a card.“I Summon Morphtronic Celfon, and I activate it’s effect!”A yellow phone-shaped robot appeared. (100/100) It’s numbers flashed, and then indicated ‘2’. Sy picked up the top two Cards of his Deck, and put one of them on his Duel Disk.A brown machine machine resembling a radio emerged from it. (1000/900) Immediatly, it powered up Celfon too. (1800/900 900/100)“My Morphtronic Radion powers up my Morphtronic while in attack position.”, he explained. “Radion, attack his monster!”The radio struck the hologram with a sound wave, and it flipped over. It revealed to be an elf with blue-ish skin clad in a long green dress. (800/2000) Radion’s attack backfired, and Sy took damage. (LP 7800)“Too bad for you my Mystical Elf has a mighty Defence.”Ann smiled, but knew it was still too early to do so. It wouldn’t take long before Sy Drew into his Boarden, and then it would be over.
This monster may seem rather weak, but almost no Level 4 monster can defeat it while it’s in Defence Mode. Therefore, it can be used for Stalling purposes.
Sy (LP 7800)*Morphtronic Celfon' date=' attack mode*Morphtronic Radion, attack mode Saitu (8000)*Mystical Elf, defence mode[/quote']“You can’t stall for long!”, Sy sneered. “I set a card. Turn End.”“I wasn’t planning to do so.” Saitu replied while Drawing a card. “Excellent. I Summon Dunames Dark With in attack position!”He placed the card next to the other one, and the hologram of the winged witch appeared next to the elf. (1800/1850)“Dunames, attack his Celfon!”The witch struck the celphone by casting a dark spell upon it, causing Sy to lose 900 Life Points. (6900)“Good job Saitu!”“Nothing at all. but I don’t believe this is allready over. I set two cards and end my Turn!”Sy Drew, and by the looks of it, it was a good draw.“I Activate Junk Box; so I can Special Summon Morphtronic Celfon from my Graveyard!”A big toolbox appeared, and then opened, allowing Morphtronic Celfon to hit the field again. (900/100)“Celfon, do your thing!” The cellphone indicated the number 5, so Sy could basically choose which monster to summon.“I Summon Morphtronic Boarden from my Deck!”“Damn!” Ann said softly, but Saitu didn’t react to the appearance of the D-Board-like creature. (500/1800 > 1300/1800) If he attacked now, he could deal 4,000 points of damage.“To finish things off, I Summon a second Radion! Looks like that Deck is going to be mine!”Ann knew it too. His second Radion had 1800 attack points, and powered up the other Monsters by 2,400 points.“Morphtronics!” he yelled, raising his left arm, like a commander controlling an army might’ve done. “Finish him off!”The two radios, the cellphone and the skateboard-like device all came at Saitu, but a silver barrier burst from nowhere to protect him.“Mirror Force destroys all your monsters upon attacking!” Saitu explained. An explosion suddenly blast a hole in the silver barrier, allowing the Morphtronics to pass through.“Not again!” Sy screamed furiously. “Morphtronic Forcefield negates any Trap Cards that would destroy one or more Morphtronic!”Then, the hole that his Trap Card had blasted through the barrier began to shrink. Eventually, it closed.“Nope.” Saitu said casually. “Seven Tools of the bandit negates your Trap at the cost of thousand Life Points.”His Life Points decreased to 7,000 as all Sy’s Monsters exploded; bolts and screws shattered in every direction before disappearing.Ann was still watching in total awe. Who was this man? He was handling her Deck better than she had ever managed to do. Was he just being lucky or did he really know what he was doing?“I Draw!” Saitu declared. He looked at the card he had just picked up, and then looked at Ann. She knew what was going to happen. With this one card, he would gain a huge advantage over Sy.“I release both of my Monsters!” he announced. Both the elf and the witch dissapeared, but their energy remained visible in the forms of two bolts of light. “To Summon this! Guardian Angel Joan!”Both the lights soared upwards, and then an angel clad in a bright white dress descended from the sky. Slowly, the orange-haired angel flapped her golden wings. (2800/2000)“Joan, attack him directly!”The angel attacked by unleashing a strong beam of light onto Sy, who screamed out in pain. For a moment, Saitu was worried. Could Solid Vision really hurt people when they took direct hits? (Sy 4100) To his surprise, Sy started laughing.“I’m not giving up yet...I can still come back.”“Surprise me.” Saitu said in a cool tone. He was in control.“I Draw...I set a Monster and a card, and end my Turn!”“What a surprise...Draw...”Ann was hoping he could finish this fast.“I Summon Agido in attack mode!”A big red orb-like creature appeared. Its eye and most of its body were decorated with pure gold. (1500/1300)“Agido, attack his face-down card!”Agido shred the monster to pieces, revealing it to be Morphtronic Videon; an odd machine shaped like a video camera. It’s hologram flickered, and the shattered. (1000/1000)“Joan, attack him directly!”This time, Sy laughed in a different way.“Ha! You fell for it! Reveal, Sakuretsu Armor!”His face-down card flipped over, and heavy armor flung itself around Joan. Saitu reacted by activating a Quick-Play Spell Card.“I activate My Body as a Shield! At the cost of 1,500 Life Points, it prevents the destruction of a Monster!” (LP 5500)The armor released Joan, and reattached itself to Sy, who really seemed to be stuck in it. The armor exploded, and Saitu flinched as Sy yelped in pain again. (1300)Saitu ended his Turn, curious about whether Sy could really make a comeback.“I draw...” he said, his voice slightly weaker than before the attack. “And I’ll activate Brain Control!”His Life Points dropped to a mere 500. Agido’s expression became blank, and she slowly walked towards Sy’s side of the field.“Now the tables are turned, I’m afraid.”“How do you mean? You chose the weaker of my Monsters! And besides, I’ll get him back next Turn!”“Not if I activate another Spell! Enemy Controler!”“Damn.” Saitu exclaimed.A giant controler appeared between them, and Sy could operate it with his voice.“Up, up, down, down, left, righ, left, right, A, B, start!” he yelled. The buttons lit up when their name was called. After that, the cord wrapped itself around Guardian Angel Joan.“Now, Joan, attack your master!”The angel strook Saitu with the same attack it had hit Sy several times, but now Saitu felt the pain. The attack went right through him, but he managed to remain standing. He felt the short pain which luckily lasted only a few seconds. So this was what Solid Vision felt like? (Saitu's LP: 2700)“I end my Turn!” Sy said. “You’ve won this.” (Sy's LP: 500)Joan walked back to Saitu, and whiped out the last of Sy’s Life Points when Saitu ordered her to. He got blown back several meters, and fell over on the ground, writhing in pain.“Saitu!”Ann ran towards him as soon as the white-clad angel had disappeared.“You were amazing!”Without speaking, he put all the Cards back in the Deck slot, and handed her the Duel Disk. She put it around her wrist again, and a second after, a metal cuff caught her arm. Saitu looked up, and saw that Sy had gotten back up. He glanced at Ann’s Duel Disk, and saw that her Duel Points were increasing. The cuff loosened again after a few seconds, and flew back to its owner. Sy took a Deck box from his belt and offered it to Saitu.“My Deck.” he said in a hollow voice. “Take it. It’s the best one I’ve got. You earned it.”But Saitu didn’t take it. His eye fell on several other Deck boxes he was wearing.“Then give me your worst one.”“What?” A surprised expression appeared on the scarred face.“The Deck you like least. But I want you to do me another favor in return.”Sy unclipped one of the Deck boxes and handed it over. Saitu took a quick look at its content. “Good. I’m going to ask you something else, but you’re not obliged to do it.”Ann was amazed by this, but didn’t speak. Sy nodded.“What do you want me to do?”“I’ll be needing a Duel Disk.” Saitu told him. “One with the same features as yours.”
The absolute ace from Ann’s Deck: this card can get Duelists out of the worst situations they can get in. Weather Report - Stand
Actually, elites is the proper term. And it (the video) was supposed to be an awesome anime video about 30 seconds long with some guy talking to a girl, then getting punched several feet away for no reason. RyanAtlus

One two three fourUn dos tres cuatroI know you want meY’know I want’chaI know you want meee- The funky tune stayed stuck in Ann’s head as she got out of bed with great effort. Several days had passed since Saitu had emerged as a victor from his Duel with Sy, and Ann had learnt a lot since then. Saitu had been trying to improve her playing style, and he had found a job fairly quickly. He delivered packages for a post order company. He had told her it wasn’t too bad: he’d earn some money and get to know the neighborhood better. It had been his own idea, for he had felt really bored during the day he had been home alone, and thus he had sought a job the day after. She looked at the clock when she came out of the bathroom, which seemed even smaller now that she had to share it, and saw it was already half past six. Saitu had left about one hour ago. That was the bad thing about the job; he had to go to another district of Dunaco, which was more than an hour’s drive.“Everything’s worth it.” He had told her the night before. “The boss said it’ll be payday tomorrow. I don’t want to seem unthankful.”Ann wouldn’t have minded had he stayed without paying; it was nice to talk to someone in the evening. She put her hair into a ponytail, put on her coat and left for work. “Morning, Ann.”“Hi, Herman. Need anything?”“Nothing from the supermarket, no. But we need to talk for a moment.”Now, that was strange. Mr. McPhinnigan never asked to have a word with her. She noticed how serious he was.“Yeah.”“I noticed you’re not alone anymore?”Dang. Well, he was bound to find out some day.“I hope he’s not a refugee. Or an undercover Snatcher.”“Wha-? No, Mr. McPhinnigan. He’s clean. Nothing fishy about him. Except maybe the fact that he’s a great Duelist.”His thick mustache curled a bit. “Then how did he get here?”“Sorry, I don’t know either. And neither does he. He’s got some sort of amnesia, I reckon.”“Well, just don’t trust him too much.”“Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing.” She gave him a little smile and then was off. Meanwhile, Saitu had arrived at his job, and to his surprise, he found he had to deliver something to himself. He immediately opened the big cardboard box wrapped in brown paper.“SAITU KAIBA!”A loud voice boomed out of Jackson’s office. Mr Jackson was his grumpy, 50-years old boss, who had only hired him because there weren’t many people who wanted the job. Saitu hadn’t actually wanted it either, but couldn’t find another one. He hurried into the tiny, messy office where a large-ish man sat behind a desk full of papers and at least a dozen of pens.“You’re late again!” he barked.“Actually, sir, I am not.” He cast a glance at his watch. “I should start working in exactly twenty-three seconds. If you hadn’t called me, I would’ve been on the road already.”Jackson reddened a bit and then pointed one of his fat fingers out of the office. Saitu followed the finger, and saw it was pointing towards the package of which he had been wrapping off the paper.“It’s mine. Don’t worry.”“Yes I will!” he yelled once more. Yelling seemed to be his normal speaking tone. “Because, mister wise guy, whoever sent it to you must’ve thought he was smarter than me! You see, the stamps that are on it make a total of 42 Dröste, and how much would it normally cost to send such a package, huh?”“Looks like a 48-er to me, boss. I’ll repay-”“Y’know what, Kaiba? I’m getting so bloody sick of you I’d better fire you right away!” He banged his fist onto his Desk. “Always late every day, hanging around with customers!”“You know what happened at Ms Goodman’s place. She’s just not fit to carry those boxes into her backyard!”“Time is money!” he yelled furiously, spraying his desk with spit. His bushy black eyebrows seemed particularly restless today.“Good service is priceless, boss.”That seemed to have done it. Jackson got up, and pointed towards the door. This time, he wanted Saitu to get out. One last glance at him, and Saitu had indeedly left the office. He heard Jackson take his silver-trimmed Duel Disk from his desk. Saitu knew he spent over an hour polishing it every day, but had never seen him Duel before. Suddenly, he had an idea which was very normal to him, but would’ve seemed brilliant to others.“Mr. Jackson?” he asked, still in a polite tone.“Ain’t you gone already, little rat?”“What’d you say about a Duel?”Jackson cast a dark look at him, stood up from his desk and attempted to shut the door, but he failed due to a handcuff on a chain that flew through the door in order to catch his wrist.“What in tarnation-?”“This, is one of the newest technologies available nowadays.” Saitu explained, attaching the Duel Disk he had just unpacked to his left wrist, connecting himself to Jackson. “It forces anyone with who I want to Duel to do so.”He raised his right eyebrow, and then one of the mouth corners twitched.“Me? Don’t be such a fool! I’d smash you in three turns! Now get this thing of me!”He continued to wrestle with the handcuff, but soon realized it was impossible to get it off.“RIGHT!” he yelled. “But on one, and only one condition! If I win, you’ll work for free for the rest of your life, you scum!”“And what is to happen would you not manage to do so?”“Then you can stay here forever and I’ll pay you double. Like that’ll happen.”Saitu thought he was a bit too self-assured, but knew he was to end that. He shuffled his never-used Deck and put it into his Duel Disk.“I’ll go first, Draw!” he said, and then smiled widely, showing his ugly yellow teeth. “This couldn’t be any better! I set one monster, and two cards!” Three face-down holograms appeared.“My Turn! Draw!”“Heh. Trap Card activate! Greed!”One of Jackson’s face-down cards flipped open, revealing a picture of a man dazzled by the sight of gold falling out of the air.“Now, as long as my Trap Card’s on the field, you take 500 points of damage during each of your End Phases per extra card you Drew during that turn.”“Then that means I’ll have to play fast. I activate the Field Spell, Mystic Plasma Zone!”His Field Spell Slot flipped open, and Saitu placed his Spell Card in it. The slot closed, and they found themselves engulfed in darkness, as if the light of the building had all been turned off at the same moment.“Next, I summon a Monster, Dark Blade!”A fierce warrior appeared, in black armor with silver spikes, brandishing a matching sword. (1800/1500 -> 2300/1100)“Dark Blade, attack his monster!”The warrior stuck his sword through the hologram, and a second warrior resembling a rugby player made out of stone appeared. (100/2700 -> 600/2300)“What a waste!” Jackson said to this. “Even tough my Destiny Hero - Defender has been weakened by your Field Spell, he’s still plenty of defense!”Saitu played another card, and the sword of Dark Blade began to glow. (ATK 2700)“Forbidden Chalice negates a Monster’s Effect, if it has one. And, its attack is increased by 400 points!”The warrior’s sword then turned to a bright gold colour, and shattered.“Dark Bribe negates any Spell or Trap Cards, and utterly destroys them, but it has also got a secondary effect; you Draw 1 Card, and you know what that means!”“Fine.” Saitu Drew a card, and set two of them. Then, a heavy chunk of gold fell out of the air and hit him on the head.“Argh!”“Yes, it feels realistic, don’t you think so?”Saitu saw his Life Points drop to 7500 as his opponent Drew a card.“Things’re going to get nasty now. I activate Card Destruction, which means you’ll draw four new cards!”Saitu did as he was told, and Drew a new hand. Jackson had been right. He would finish Saitu of in a mere three turns.“I set a monster and end my Turn!”He knew what was going to happen, and held his hands above his head to protect himself from the four blocks of gold hitting him. He checked his hands, and saw to his amazement that they were scratched. His amazement was even bigger when he saw that Jackson himself had also been hit. ‘Greed’ affected both players, and that could help him to win. (Saitu LP 5500 / Jackson LP 6000)“I Draw!” Saitu declared. “And due to Defender’s effect, I draw a second card!”As soon as he had seen what this card had been, he knew it was already over.“Seems like things you enjoy are always over fast,” he said.“Nyeh, giving up already? Knew scum like you could never defeat me!”“We’ll see about that. If you want to get somewhere in life, it is important not to underestimate anyone or anything.”“Then prove it!” Jackson yelled. “Never have I been defeated before, and today’s not going to be the first time!”“I guess this is a lesson that ought to be taught the hard way.”, Saitu replied. Contrary to Jackson, he had stayed calm during the entire Duel. “I activate Nobleman of Crossout to remove your face-down Monster from play.”A young knight in shiny armor appeared, and slashed the hologram of a laughing jar in half.“Gah! My Morphing Jar!”“Next, I’ll play Fissure to destroy your Defender. Next, I Summon Marauding Captain.”A knight who differed a lot from Nobleman of Crossout jumped out of Saitu’s Duel Disk. He had fought many battles, and had won most of them. His suit of armor was old, but still effective, and his sword had slain many enemies before. (1200/400)“That won’t pay your debts yet! I’ve got six thousand Life Points, and the combined attack of your monsters is only three thousand five hundred! You can’t win this Turn, and I’ll finish you next Turn. Your pathetic warriors can’t hurt me!”“Normally, I wouldn’t’ve been able to win this this Turn, but due to Marauding Captain’s effect, I Special Summon Rare Metal Dragon from my hand!”“What?!”A huge shiny black dragon appeared out of nowhere, ready to slash any enemy with his mighty horns. (2400/1200 2900/800)“Monsters, attack!”Both the knights hit Jackson with their swords, making scars appear, even tough blood was nowhere to be seen. The Dragon ran into him, causing to topple over. (Jackson LP 0)All the holograms disappeared. Saitu stepped towards him, but he couldn’t get up yet.“One more question before I start delivering.”, he spoke to the old man in a cool voice. Jackson replied by moaning softly. Saitu placed his foot an inch above Jackson’s hand.“Answer me truthfully, and I will do no harm to you. You see a little girl falling into a deep pit, but her golden necklace is lying a meter away from it. You’re the only one who has seen this. What would you do?”Jackson hesitated for a few seconds, not yet recovered from Rare Metal Dragon’s attack. He gazed through the office, and finally his eye fell on Saitu’s foot.“...I’d steal the necklace...”As soon as he had answered, Saitu turned around and walked out of the office.“At least you’re honest. See you tonight.”
This card is able to get out most low-level monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned, and is therefore a key element in Saitu’s Deck. A lock can be performed by having two of them on the field.
“Morning!”A ray of sunlight found his way through Ann’s half-opened eyelids as Saitu opened her curtains. She mumbled something back and sat up straight.“Nine o’clock, like I’ve promised you. I already made some breakfast. It looks edible. Kinda.”They walked into the kitchen, the one more awoken than the other, and ate the scrambled eggs and toast that Saitu had put there several minutes ago.“Looking forward to today?”Ann was still too tired to answer properly, and therefore nodded while yawning.“C’mon. It wasn’t that late.”“We’ve worked till one!” she replied. “But I’m not blaming you. Hope my Deck’s a bit better than it was before.”The day before, Saitu had bought some booster packs on his way home; he had won some extra money by winning the Duel against Jackson, and it was well spent. Even tough Ann’s Deck wasn’t yet what he had wanted it to be, it should be better. He had been given some commons he still needed of Sy Macend, for he had passed by him to thank him properly. Saitu’s first impression was that Sy was now trying to better his life.“We’ll find out today, won’t we?”“Hope so.” she answered as she helped herself to some orange juice.Today was going to be a good day. They’d go to the Duel Arena together for the first time. Ann was also excited about the changes that Saitu had made to her Deck. Less than half an hour later, they found themselves on the train. Except for a man in a green uniform, it was empty.“Ann?”“Hmm...”“Can you explain who those men are? I mean, they seem to be keeping an eye on everyone around here.” Saitu had seen men like him before, but had never really bothered to ask Ann.Ann cast a dark look at the man in kakkhi. His hat was emblazoned with two silver S’s, in such a composition that they looked like fighting snakes..“Those are Snatchers. They claim to keep order, but in fact they check that no one tries to fight Tönisteiner’s regime.”“And who’s that again?” Saitu whispered.Ann sighed, but decided that she should tell him the truth.“Only a few years ago, I led a happy life. Everyone did. But due to the crisis in 2008, the entire country of Insopia turned their hopes to one man: Ludwig. He had managed to solve the crisis by 2009, but after that, he had become a dictator. All those who weren’t good at dueling got locked away in villages like Dunacon. But he’s afraid. Afraid that one day, someone will stand up to fight him. That’s why he’s keeping an eye on us. On everybody.”“Then why doesn’t the rest of the world do anything about it?”“They can’t. They can’t even legally prove what’s going on here. It’s just like China is the Communist period. Press from abroad isn’t allowed in our country. Anyone trying to cross the natural borders is...eliminated.”“Then what are those natural borders?”“Insopia is an island. Haven’t I told you that?”“Might have. Please do remember I’m not from around here.”“Then it’d be best for you to study some world history and geography.”The man in green left the compartment, after grabbing his walkie-talkie and having turned it on.“C’mon, this is our stop.” They found themselves in a dirty-looking station, and walked on towards a big, but ugly-looking building. They entered, the waiting room, which was completely empty. The only person to be seen was a man in green behind the counter.“Nothing to be seen here.” he muttered. “No one’s here today.”“Don’t worry. I came to get a Duel Pass anyways.” Saitu answered. The man sighed. Saitu had to fill out a document; basically three simple questions: Name:Date of Birth:Address: After having entered the answers in his prehistorical computer' date=' he handed Saitu a card just like Ann’s.“Y’know how it works. Your current Duel Rank is zero. After you’ve dueled, you gain experience and some money; the card works like a credit card too. Got it?”“Kay. We’ll go back home then?” he asked her.“Guess so.”They were about to leave when a guy in rags came in. His Duel Disk, which he carried on his right arm, was grey, and decorated with tiny skulls.“I’m here to Duel. Looks like the competition’s easy today.” He said to the green-clad guy.“Pick one of them and both hand in your card. You’re lucky, Fred. A level three and a level zero. Wouldn’t be surprised if either of them was too afraid to Duel a level eight like you.”“I’ll take him on, thanks.” Ann said to Saitu’s surprise. They both entered their cards into one of the machines, and one of the screens that were hung up in the waiting room displayed: DUEL ARENA 2ANN ESPIRO (***) – FRED SCLOPEIN (********)8000-8000 “You’ve seen it. Number two. Now go.”As soon as he was alone again, he grabbed his walkie-talkie.“The two you just spoke about are both here. I’ll observe their Duel. Over.”“Okay. Over.” “I’ll start things up!” Fred declared after they had taken their positions in the ancient-looking duel arena. Almost everything was grey, and the lines indicating the borders of the playing field could almost not be seen anymore.“I set a monster and end my Turn!”“Then I’ll go second. Draw!”, Ann spoke. “And I’ll Summon my Mystic Tomato!”A huge red tomato, baring a wicked smile, appeared out of the ground. (1400/1100)“Tomato, attack his set Monster!”The vegetable sprung towards the hologram. It flipped around and revealed to be an old witch, covered in webs. (0/2200)“Nyeh-ha! You’ve attacked my Lady in Wight! That’ll cost you some points!”Ann’s Life points dropped to 7200.“Doesn’t matter. I set two cards and end my Turn.”Two face-down holograms appeared, and Fred drew a card.“I activate One for One!”, he smiled, slightly waving his long grey hair. “So I ditch a Skull Servant and Special Summon another one!”A skeleton in a purple cape arose from the ground. Ann could read its stats on her Duel Disk. (300/200)“As for my Normal Summon, I will Tribute my Skull Servant to Summon Ryu Kokki!”The little skeleton crumbled, and made place for a huge beast-like creature covered in all kinds of skulls, of which some seemed to be human. (2400/2000)“Kokki, destroy her Tomato!”The beast jumped towards the plant, and shred it to pieces. (Ann 6200)“Huh. This is going way too easy.”“Don’t laugh yet!” Ann interrupted him. “With Mystic Tomato’s effect, I can Special Summon Nurse Reficule the Fallen One!”A blue-haired fairy, with great wings and clad in white bandages emerged from the place where the Tomato had died. (1400/600)“With Nurse Reficule out, any healing effect becomes a burning effect. That’s why I will open my Trap Card, Dark Cure!”One of her holograms flipped face-up, and revealed a picture of a manticore flying towards a shiny ball.“As long as this remains on the field, you’ll gain life points equal to half the attack points of any monster you summon.”Fred only laughed at the sight of her combo. “Do you honestly think you’ll live long enough to do such burning damage? I set a card and end my Turn.”“Before you end, I activate Gift Card. This will increase-or rather decrease, your life points by 3000!”An envelope with the image of Winged Kuriboh on it appeared, and flew towards Fred. It burst open, and several tentacles slashed him in the face. He yelled out in pain as his life points dropped to 5000. The envelope disappeared, and both Saitu and Ann were shocked by the fact that Gift Card had left red stripes on Fred’s face.“Moving on.” she said, despite the shock. Fred had poked fun of her capacities as a Duelist, and she’d prove her strength, which meant no holding back. “I activate Rain of Mercy, healing both our life points by a thousand.”Heavy drops of rain fell down upon both of them. However, the drops that fell on Freddy’s side of the field seemed to be acidic, for they left red spots on his face.“Argh... Wait till next turn...I’ll get my revenge...” (Fred 4000, Ann 7200) “I’ll set a monster, two cards, and end my turn.”Three holograms hovered a few inches above the ground. The light indicating the turn on Ann’s Duel Disk went out, and Fred’s began to shine.“Hmmm...I draw, and activate another One for One! I discard Lady in Wight, and Special Summon King of the Skull Servants!”A huge skeletal figure, clad in nothing but darkness arose from the ground. (3000/0) As soon as the monster had appeared, Fred’s Life Points dropped to 2500.“Now, King! Attack her Nurse Reficule!”“Activate Defense Draw!” A hologram of a man that got struck by lightning while drawing a card appeared.“The Battle Damage becomes zero, and I draw a card.”“But your monster is destroyed...” Fred smiled. “Ryu Kokki, attack her monster!”The zombie shred a blue-faced, green clad fairy to pieces. (800/2000)“Now that your pesky little nurse is out of the way, let’s heal a bit! I Summon Plaguespreader Zombie!”A small beast appeared, but it looked as if it was being devoured from the inside. (400/200).“Heh. Just as I expected! Trap Card open, Bad Reaction to Simochi!”“What!?”A new Trap Card flipped open, revealing a picture of a kneeling woman being plagued by several spirits made out of thin smoke. Fred’s Life Points decreased by 200, half the Zombie’s attack points. (Fred 2,300)“Congratulations...” he smiled, revealing his ugly teeth. “You have tricked me once more, and if I want to use my Plaguespreader’s full potential, I’ll have to take a second blow. Now, let’s Synchro Summon! I activate Synchro boost to increase my Plaguespreader’s level to three!”He activated the Spell card, and the zombie grew a bit. (900/200) “By tuning my level three Plaguespreader Zombie to my level three Lady in Wight, I Synchro Summon the level six Doomkaiser Dragon!”Both of the monsters jumped into the air and became transperant. Three Level Starts appeared on each of them, and then the stars joined together, making the monsters disappeared. A flash of light, and a giant zombie dragon had appeared. Large black wings attached to a grey body, and a skull as head were the most prominent features of it. (2400/1500)“Then you’ll take twelve hundred points of damage.”“I know.” Fred answered as his Life points dropped to 1100. “And therefore, I end my Turn.”Ann’s Turn Light ignited again, and she Drew a Card.“I activate Upstart Goblin! I Draw a card and you take thousand points of damage due to Simochi’s effect!”Fred’s Life Points were at a hundred now; if Ann could heal him a little bit more, she’d win the Duel.“I’m afraid it’s over then...” he said.“Not yet...” she replied.“How do you mean?”“I can’t inflict any more damage this turn. I set a Monster and I end.”Fred Drew a card. “Then I think I can Turn the tables again. I attack with Ryu Kokki!”The zombified beast jumped at the face-down card. It flipped over, and a small creature resembling a big, pink marshmallow appeared. (300/500)“Gah! Marshmallon!”“Yeah. And I think you know what it does?”The holograms faded: Fred’s Life Points had decreased by thousand due to Marshmallon’s effect. The light on Ann’s Duel Disk became red, and she checked her Touch Screen.“Sweet! Level up!”Saitu jumped onto the platform, but hadn’t expected Ann to run towards him and give him a hug.“Thank you so much! This Deck’s awesome!”“Yeah...” He immediately started to blush. “You just wait till it’s finished.”“Good job.” The voice had come from the door, next to which Fred was standing. “But next time, I won’t lose that easily. Till then.”He walked away without looking back a second time. *** “Seen the Duel? Over.”“Yes. The girl seems to be using a half-finished Simochi Deck. She’s now a level four. Over.”“Tsss...If she can beat level eight Duelists that easy, we might have troubles with them in the future. Over.”The guy behind the counter had taken his walkie-talkie out again.“Nah. You know Fred loses half the time nowadays. Over.”“I’ll keep an eye on them anyways. Inform the boss about them. Over.”
Even tough Ann’s new Deck isn’t finished yet ; this card is to be the most important one.
“Are you sure of what you’ve heard?”“Otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered you, sir!”One of the higher ranked Snatchers stood on one side of the Desk. On the other side, seated in a throne-like chair, sat a man with white hair. It matched the color of his skin, for he was as white as a skeleton. His hair was tied into a ponytail, so that his forehead was clearly visible. He had big eyes, in a shade somewhere between blue and grey. His pale appearance was even more highlighted by the excellent dark blue costume he was wearing. The desk was made out of fine teak, and looked as if it had been polished several times the past few hours. Bookshelves reached to the ceiling, and they were all filled with heavy books, most of them were on the subject of history, science and literature, but several books on languages and other subjects could also be found. He took a small piece of paper out of his top drawer, took one of the many fountain-pens, and wrote down a single word on the paper, in curly letters.“Eliminate.”He then pushed the paper towards the second man, who read it, nodded and immediately left the room, while Ludwig von Tönisteiner put away his pen in its holder.Wasn’t this what he had solemnly been hoping for? That somebody would fight back?He rested his chin on his hands. Of course, there had been attempts to stop him. The ADP, All Duelists’ Party, had been the most successful one. But they were all weak. All of his men were excellent Duelists, all of them with a win ratio of 95% or higher. He closed his eyes again, and hoped for someone strong. Someone with whom he’d have to deal himself. He then looked up, and observed the three paintings he had once painted himself. The first one depicted a knight in black armor. On the second one, there was an enormous dragon, and on the third one there was a sorcerer juggling a black and a white energy ball. If, and only if the girl and boy of whom he had just heard about managed to survive a Duel, he’d take them out himself. *** Meanwhile, somewhere far away, Saitu and Ann were on their way to the St. Edwards church, which Saitu had been wanting to visit for a while. According to Ann, it was a small church, and it had been abandoned years ago, but Saitu had managed to convince her. They heard the roaring of an engine, somewhere far away. And it kept getting louder. A few minutes later, the source of the sound passed them; a green motorcycle, with several extra features such as a Duel Disk attached to the_street, and hologram simulators on the side. After it had disappeared around the corner, Saitu found himself to be able to speak again.“Whoa! What was that?”“That, was a Duel Runner. Advanced Duelists use them for Riding Duels, but they’re very rare here in Dunaco, because there aren’t many advanced Duelists here.”“And what’s a Riding Duel?”Ann smiled. “As the name suggests, it’s a Duel that takes place while riding a motorbike.”“Ain’t that dangerous?” He asked, while they passed a corner. The sound of the Duel Runner started to fade away.“There’s an Auto-Pilot function, but I’ll explain that another time. We’re at the church.”And indeed, Saitu recognized the small, filthy church building. And it didn’t look any better on the inside. The glass-in-lead windows were so dirty that they didn’t let any sunlight through, and the pews looked as if they were rotten. The whole place seemed as if nobody had been in it for years. They walked several meters through the church, and their footsteps echoed loudly, but didn’t break the silence. In fact, it sounded as if the footsteps had already been there before they entered.“C’mon, let’s go.” Ann whispered. But Saitu had proceeded towards the altar. An old man, clad in a priest’s robe was kneeling in front of it, praying in silence. Neither of them knew whether to talk to him or to remain in silence. They didn’t want to disturb him, and therefore they sat down just to watch him. The man didn’t move, or even seemed to have noticed that two youngsters had entered the building. After a few minutes, he stood up, and turned around to face them. His face was partly hidden in the shadow his hood cast upon it, but from what they could see, Saitu thought he must’ve been very old.“I knew you would come.” His voice was weak, and seemed to fill the whole church, though it was not unpleasant. “Come with me.”Both of them followed the man in silence, even though Ann had hesitated for a second, but came with Saitu as soon as he had taken her hand. They went down a long spiraling stairway, lit by several candles, and eventually they found themselves in a large, dark room. Nothing could be seen there, except for themselves.“Saitu...” she whispered. “Why are we here?”“Because He wanted you to!” the man spoke again. This time, his voice was loud and clear. He took a candle from under his cloak, which started burning immediately. He took of his cap, and his long black hair was revealed. Saitu remained in silence.“He? Who’s He?”The man held up a thick black book. The silver letters were clearly visible in the light of the candle; they spelled out the words ‘Holy Bible’.“Then I’ll have to disappoint you, sir. I don’t Believe.”The man raised an eyebrow.“Even if you don’t, I’m sure you know of the book Apocalypse?”“Of course I do.” she replied. “But please explain what we have to do with it. Who are you, anyways? Why did you bring us here?” Her voice showed dislike, even some impatience. He shook his head, and then continued. “In ancient writings, the legend of the Apocalypse does not end in a victory for the Lord. In fact, He does not have anything to do with it. The alternate Apocalypse tells the tale of a man who wants to destroy everyone whom he considers weak, in order to create a perfect human race. Many thought this legend refered to the Holocaust in the early forties, but there are differences.”Ann was unimpressed. She obviously didn’t want to be wherever they were.“The prophecy foretold your arrival, however skeptical you may be, young lady. The prophecy predicted that a young man and woman would stand up to the cruel ruler by opening an ancient gate, thereby being able to shelter those who would otherwise be murdered.”“There aren’t any reasons to believe you yet.”Saitu spoke for the first time. “I’m afraid she is right sir. You might’ve made everything up.”He turned his back to them, and faced the wall opposite of the stairs. The light of the candle revealed an archway made out of stone, with eight holes around it, of which two shaped in the form of a hand. The six others were square-shaped.“Please place your hands in the holes. Trust me.”Ann hesitated once more, but followed Saitu. To her surprise, the opening fitted her hand perfectly. As soon as Saitu had placed his hand into the opening, the arch began to glow with a feeble light, which disappeared almost immediately.“This is the gate of which the prophecy speaks. As you might’ve noticed, only your hands can fit into them. The six other holes...”He thought for a few seconds, as if he didn’t know whether to finish his sentence or not. Ann started to believe him, but wasn’t sure yet.“They shall be filled by six objects. I don’t know what kind of objects, or where they are hidden. The prophecy foretells that they are somewhere on this earth, and for centuries, people tried to discover them, but no one succeeded so far.”“And why would we succeed?”A smile appeared on the old man’s face.“I never said you would.” Neither of them knew what had happened. They suddenly found themselves in front of the altar again. The man was nowhere to be seen.“Let’s get out of here. This place is starting to freak me out.”Saitu threw a last glance at the altar.“Do you believe him?” he asked her.She didn’t answer him. She walked towards the exit of the church slowly.“I don’t know yet. Do you?”Silence fell over the little church once more. Saitu cast a look at the glass-in-lead window. A dark figure, surrounded by several creatures opposed the duo that should represent Ann and Saitu, each with a huge dragon-like creature behind them. Was the legend the man had told them of true? “Saitu!” A scream filled the building. Saitu turned around quickly, and saw that Ann was almost being strangled by a man in a long green coat, and the matching SS hat. A chain flung around his arm, thereby forcing him to release her.“Saitu Kaiba!” he said. “You are under arrest for an attempted coup d’ etat!”“What?” He was struck with amazement. It was true that he wanted to put an end to Tönisteiner's regime, and had discussed ways to do so with Ann, but neither of them had taken any action.“According to the law book, chapter 7, paragraph 3, you are allowed to request an escape duel. If you do, any penalty that would be given to you is doubled, but if you win you cannot be arrested for the following twenty-four hours. Do you accept or not?”“Depends.” Saitu replied. “What if I lose?”The man smiled, showing his pointy front teeth. “Then I, officer Jeff Roosevelt, will personally hand you over to Ludwig von Tönisteiner, for that was his wish.”He looked for Ann, who had fainted due to the strangling. He had no other choice than to accept. He unlocked the chain by entering a code on his Duel Disk, and it flew back to him.“I accept.” he said, while drawing five cards.Roosevelt drew six cards. “Then I’ll start with Goblin Elite Attack Force, in attack mode!”Several goblins wearing superb white armor took form in front of them. (2200/1500)“Next, the Field Spell Gaia Power will boost them by another five hundred points!”He slid open the Field Spell slot of his dark brown Duel Disk, and placed a card with a giant tree on it in it. Immediately, the giant tree had appeared in the middle of the church, and powered up the Goblins. (2700/1100)“I set two more cards and end my turn.” A third and a fourth hologram appeared and Saitu drew a card.“Looks like I’m in trouble. I activate my own Field Spell, Mystic Plasma Zone, to destroy yours!” The tree faded away. The building became even darker than it already was. (Goblin Elite Attack Force 2200/1500)“Next, I activate Bait Doll! I choose your left face-down card.” A hologram of a card depicting a scythe and a voodoo doll appeared. Roosevelt's face-down card flipped open, and appeared to be Final Attack Orders.“Looks like the timing is appropriate, and will therefore be activated.”“Like I care. I was going to activate it on my next turn anyways...”“I think you wouldn’t. I Summon Marauding Captain!”A scarred knight in greenish armor appeared, and was immediately followed by a second knight in blue armor, with a matching Mask. (1200/400 – 1200/1400 => 1700/900)“With Captain’s Effect, I Special Summon Familiar Knight. Knight, attack his Goblins!”Familiar Knight attacked the Goblins, but they counterattack, shredding him to pieces with their swords. (Saitu LP 7500)“Now we can both Special Summon a level four Monster, so I choose Rare Metal Dragon!”“Heh.” Roosevelt laughed. “I Special Summon Goblin King from my hand...”Two Monsters appeared. Saitu’s Monster was a big black dragon (2400/1200 => 2900/800), while Jeff’s was a small green goblin sitting on a golden throne. (1000/1000 => 1500/500)“I activate my other face-down card, Inferno Reckless Summon!”A hologram of a Quick-Play Spell Card flipped over, and two more Goblin Kings came out of the ground. (2x 3000/3000 => 3500/2500)“Now that I’ve got three Goblin Kings on the field,” Roosevelt started explaining, ”you cannot attack any of my Fiend-Type Monsters. The get a thousand points for each Fiend I control, plus another five hundred because of your Spell Card!” He smiled in a self-confident way. “Try to escape now.”“I will.” Saitu replied in a calm voice. “I set two cards and end my Turn.”"Damn." he thought. "I couldn't Special Summon any Monsters because my second Marauding Captain's in my hand, and I run only one Rare Metal Dragon...but I'll have to find another way around his Goblins..."“Very well. I draw. I Summon another Goblin Elite Attack Force!”Another set of Goblins clad in white armor appeared. (2200/1500 - Goblin Kings: 3x 4500/3500)“Goblin King, attack his Dragon!”The Goblin jumped out of his throne, and attacked the Dragon by hitting it in one of its great eyes. The dragon replied to this by simply biting of the goblin’s head. (Roosevelt LP 5600)“How the f*ck did you do that?” he yelled.Saitu pointed towards the hologram that had just flipped face-up; it depicted Dark Ruler Ha Des, who was in a weak condition. (Saitu LP 6500)“Skill Drain negates all Effects, and therefore your Goblin King’s Attack increasing Effect was negated.”“That won’t stop my Elite Attack Forces from doing damage. Attack his Marauding Captain!”The two swordsmen lunged at the captain at the same time, making him scatter. (Saitu LP 5500)“Nice try, but the Duel is almost over.”“It isn’t yet. I end my Turn.”Saitu drew a card, and as soon as he saw it, he knew that the duel would last.“I activate Trap Stun, so that I can use Monster Effects. I Summon Summoner Monk in defense mode with its own effect, and discard Allure of Darkness to Special Summon Rose Warrior of Revenge from my Deck!”Two Monsters appeared at the same time: the first was an ancient monk in a dark blue kimono, with long white hair and a matching mustache, the second one was a young girl in a black suit, with her long red hair tied in a ponytail. (800/1600 => 1300/1200 – 1600/600)“A Tuner Monster...”“Yes. A Tuner Monster.” he repeated. “I’ll tune my Monk to my Rose, to Synchro Summon Colossal Fighter!”Twe two monsters jumped into the air and became transparent. Four level stars appeared out of each of them, which joined together to form a level eight monster. A giant white figure arose from the ground. (2800/1000 => 3300/500)“Colossal Fighter increases its attack points by 100 for each Warrior in our Graveyards. Marauding Captain, Familiar Knight and Rose; together they boost this Fighter’s attack as long as this turn lasts.”The warrior’s attack increased to 3600.“I’m not done yet.” Saitu continued. “By removing Allure of Darkness from play, I Special Summon Spell Striker!” He put Allure of Darkness in his pocket, and put another monster on his Duel Disk. A little warrior clad in blue armor popped out of the card. (600/200)“Spell Striker, direct attack!”The monster cast a spell which flew in between Roosevelt’s army of goblins, and hit him in the chest. (Roosevelt LP 5000)“Next, I’ll attack your Elite Attack Forces with Colossal Fighter and Rare Metal Dragon!”Both Saitu’s Monsters attacked at the same time; the first one using his fists, the other with his mighty black horn. (Roosevelt LP 3400)“There. I’ll end my Turn by setting a last card.”Roosevelt had not said a word, or even showed pain upon being attacked by Saitu’s Monsters. Instead, he just drew a card, which might’ve been his last.“I activate Twister to destroy Skill Drain!” he declared, and immediately Saitu’s Trap Card was shred to pieces by a typhoon. (Roosevelt LP 2900)“Next, I’ll Activate Double Summon, so that I can Summon Goblin Attack Force and Tribute him for Great Maju Garzett!”A spell card depicting a battle between a beast and a magician appeared, and then a bunch of goblins came out of his Duel Disk. (2300/0) They turned into a wisp of black smoke, which took the form of a giant hairy fiend, wearing red armor and a matching mask. (4600/0 => 5100/0)“Great Maju Garzett, attack his Colossal Fighter!”“Trap Card Activate, Staunch Defender!”Roosevelt’s Monster was aiming a dark energy beam towards Collossal Fighter, but Spell Striker came to stand in between them and took the hit.“Spell Striker takes no battle damage. Therefore, I am safe.”“You are now, but next Turn I will destroy you.” He smiled once more. “Did you really think a low-ranked Duelist like you could defeat me, a level nine Duelist?”“Yes I did, and I will prove it. Draw!”Saitu had been overconfident. He knew he couldn’t possible defeat Great Maju Garzett. He looked at the card he had drawn: Enemy Controller. He could try to shift Roosevelt's Monster to Defense Mode, but Final Attack Orders would shift him to Attack Position again. And there were still his two Goblin Kings, each with 2500 attack points. But then he saw it: everything he needed was right there.“I release my Rare Metal Dragon to activate Enemy Controller!”A giant game controller appeared between them. Rare Metal Dragon scattered to tiny fragments, and Saitu recited the code that was required to activate the second effect.“Up, lefty, down, right, B, A, B, A!” The buttons pressed themselves, and Maju Garzett was pulled towards Saitu’s side of the field by the controller’s cord.“You may have seized control of my Monster, but my Kings still protect each other!”“Not if I activate Fissure first. This will destroy one of your Kings!"One of the two Goblin Kings vanished."Great Maju Garzett, attack his Goblin King!”The fiend blast a beam of energy towards the remaining Goblin King, who had only 500 attack points left, causing 4600 points of damage. This was more than enough to take away his remaining 2900 Life Points, and this time he really seemed to feel the attack. He felt on his knees, clutching his heart, breathing heavily as if he had just ran several miles. Saitu turned his attention to Ann, who was still lying next to the back row of pews.“C’mon, wake up. Please wake up.”She did not. Therefore, he picked her up and decided to carry her home.“Twenty-four hours. Then I’ll come and get you.”“Looking forward to it.” Saitu replied, stepping on Roosevelt's right hand when passing by. He wouldn’t’ve been surprised had he broken one or more fingers...
Even a popular Side Deck choice in many Decks in real life. This Card is one of the keystones in Saitu’s Deck, for some of his monsters have effects that may hinder him. Kendo Fish
Dang, I'm lazy. I myself thought it was good. The occasional grammatical misstep here and there (...out of those villages, until they...), but overall could be interesting. Though the vulture simile/metaphor/whatever it was again is a bit weird. A VULTURE FLYING AROUND THE CARCASS OF THE WORLD!!
RyanAtlus

Ann opened her eyes, and was surprised to see she wasn’t on the same place as where she had closed them. She saw the sky, which was turning grey, and Saitu’s face, looking both worried and determined.“You woke up.” he concluded.“Of course I did.” she replied, rubbing her throat while standing onto her own feet again. “What happened?”“Some guy tried to strangle you and win a Duel from me, but he failed to do either.”“I don’t remember any of those things happening...”“Didn’t expect you to.” Ann still had the impression that he was worried, but also heard a bit of relief in his voice. By the looks of it, he had carried her for most of the way back home. Why would anyone do such things? The last thing she remembered was that freaky guy in the church, mumbering utter nonsense about the apocalypse. The she had left Saitu behind in the church, and had seen a man in green dismount a Duel Runner. She felt disbelief as she realized it, but if that what Saitu had told her was true, they were in trouble. No, in danger.“What were his exact words?”“Huh?”Saitu was standing a few metres in front of her; she must’ve stopped walking. He didn’t understand. They had to get away.“What was the reason he tried to arrest you?”Saitu frowned. “I think it was attempted coup d’état, but I was kinda worried about other things at that moment...”Ann started running, and Saitu followed her. She was faster than he had thought.“What’s wrong?”“You don’t get it!” she yelled, panting. “If Tönisteiner’s really after us, we’ve got less than twenty-three hours to live!”“He can’t do that!” he replied, after they had stopped in front of their house.“He’s in control of everything! That’s how it goes!”She took her keys out of her bag, and opened the door. She ran through the living room, dropping her Duel Disk on the chair, and ran into her room, emerging from it less than five seconds later, with two medium-sized backpacks.“Pack everything you can.”Saitu did not take one of the backpacks she gave her, but took her hand instead. She was breathing heavily due to the short run, and he saw fear in her great blue eyes. She calmed down immediately, but the expression on her face remained the same.“I won’t let anyone do anything to you.”His voice sounded unfamiliar. It was as if someone else had spoken through his mouth.“You can’t...” she whispered. “Our only chance is to flee.”“Where to?”“If only I knew. We’re not going to be safe here, but maybe there’s a place where we will.”Saitu let go of her hand, and she disappeared back into her bedroom. A single tear had dropped onto the ground. He watched it for a second, then opened the little cabinet in which he kept the clothing that was his, and filled his backpack with whatever he had. Even with all his clothing in it, there was still room, so he walked into the kitchen, which was one of the few rooms in the house that had a little bit of colour. The cupboards were in a bright shade of orange, but the walls themselves were in a weird greenish colour. He filled his backpack with some bread and canned soup. He didn’t know where they were going, not even if they were going, but there was one thing he knew for sure; he’d follow Ann wherever she went. Not only because she wouldn’t survive when she was alone, but also because he felt a strange kind of sympathy for this girl that he could not explain. *** “Repeat what you just said. But without the mumbling.””They got away, sir. I could not defeat the boy.”Roosevelt was standing in Tönisteiner’s office once again. He couldn’t tell whether his master was angry or delighted, but he seemed to be both most of the time.“I think”, Ludwig spoke, “that you ought to be eliminated if you can’t even handle a couple of teenagers.”"You should not underestimate them ,sir. Even though they're young, they might be stronger than they might seem.""Even if they are, you should've been able to defeat them. If you cannot, you are weak." His voice was soft, but impatient.“Sir, I beg you forgiveness!”“You’re weak!” He shouted. “And those who are weak ought to be eliminated!”“It was an accident!” Roosevelt squealed. He didn’t like Ludwig getting mad. That man could speak with such energy that even the strongest men, like Roosevelt himself, would be ashamed of whatever they had done. “It won’t happen again sir, I swear!”Ludwig’s big eyes narrowed, and turned to a darker shade.“Let’s put that to a test, shall we?”He slid open his Duel Disk; a big model, coloured both dark purple and white. He drew six cards and placed three of them on his Duel Disk.“I set one monster and two cards. I win next turn.”Roosevelt had only realized that they had started a Duel as soon as his Duel Disk’s turn-indicating light flashed.“You can’t say that so early.”“Yes, I can, because you stand no chance. I am strong whereas you are weak.”“We’ll see about that. I Summon Goblin Attack Force!”Three large green goblins appeared, waving their big wooden clubs. (2300/0)“Goblins, attack his Monster!”The three creatures lunged at the hologram of Ludwig’s Monster, which revealed to be a pink, shapeless creature, with large teeth and big, staring eyes. (300/500)“Marshmallon’s effect takes away a thousand of your Life Points.” Ludwig explained. “Not that it matters...”“Indeed. I can take it.” Roosevelt replied, while his Life Points meter went down to 7000. “I end my Turn."The Goblins all kneeled into a defensive position. (DEF: 0)“Time for the last Turn. I activate Hand Destruction, so we both discard two cards, and draw two new ones. I discard Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and D.D. Warrior Lady.”Both Ludwig and Roosevelt slid two cards into their Graveyard slot, and drew two new Cards.“Seems like you’ve made a mistake. With this new hand, I’ll finish you of next Turn.”“But there won’t be a next Turn. I remove the monsters I just discarded to Special Summon Black Luster Solider – Envoy of the Beginning!”“WHAT?”Both Kycoo and D.D. Warrior Lady appeared, and then merged together, as if melting into each other. Whatever the result was turned into dust, and from the dust arose a Warrior with greenish skin, clad in magnificent blue armor, trimmed with the purest gold. (3000/2500)“Eliminate.”The soldier slashed the Goblins to pieces, and then stabbed Roosevelt himself. He fell over on the ground, whining in pain. (Roosevelt 4000)“You just promised me you would never lose again, but you are losing right now...Only the weak break their promises. Trap Card Activate, Lineage of Destruction!”One of the Trap Cards’ holograms flipped open, showing both Giant Soldier of stone and Mystical Elf being destroyed. The soldier attacked Roosevelt again, this time really causing him to bleed. Jeff looked at the blood in terror.“This can’t be... Solid Vision can’t do that! This is madness!”“Madness...?” Ludwig laughed. “This is your doom! Second Trap Card, Return from the Different Dimension!”The two removed monsters reappeared. Kycoo, a man in rags, and D.D. Warrior Lady, a young woman clad in black leather and a large white sword. (1800/700 – 1500/1600)Both of them attacked, causing two more cuts. (Roosevelt LP 0)All the holograms disappeared, but Jeff didn’t react anymore. He lay motionless on the carpet, blood dripping from his three injuries. Ludwig didn’t pay any attention to him anymore. He took out a cell phone, and dialled a number.“I’ve spilled something nasty on the carpet. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be in the East Wing’s office untill the mess has been cleaned up.”He put the phone away and walked out of the office, without taking a second look at the corpse. Another one eliminated. If he kept going on like this, the world would soon consist out of nothing but the strongest, the best that mankind had to offer. If only those people were at his side, or else he’d have to eliminate them too.
This card needs no explanation. It’s effect is so powerful that the turn it is Summoned in is almost always the last.
The temperature dropped by several degrees as the golden evening sun was about to disappear behind the distant horizon. The guards that had just taken their post didn’t look forward to their night shift, but they weren’t allowed to contradict their Master. He had warned them that there would be citizens from Dunaco who would attempt to escape from the village.Originally, they had thought it was just a joke, until they had seen a boy and a girl, each of them about seventeen years old, carrying backpacks. Upon seeing the guards, they had turned around and left again. “Damn it. How could I’ve forgotten about them?” Ann said to herself.Saitu didn’t reply. Both of them knew that, if they attempted to cross Dunaco’s border, that they’d get caught.“I think it’d be best to look for a place to spend the night,” she proposed, casting a look at the sky, which was starting to get dark.“Yeah. We might as well...”They had been walking for several hours, and most of that time had been spent in silence. But now, now that they had reached Dunaco’s borders, they were stuck. After walking another thirty minutes, they found a small hotel, which seemed to be nearly empty. Saitu booked a cheap room, which consisted out of a miniature bathroom and two matching bedrooms. It wasn’t much, but they had to be careful with the small amount of money they had. Ann was both tired and worried when she finally took of her coat and sat down on the dusty, old-fashioned bed. It had been about eleven o’clock when Saitu had dueled his way to freedom, so they had to be sure they were able to fight back around that time the next morning. She became lost in thoughts; which kind of Duelist would be sent for them? Would any of them be able to win? What if they wouldn’t? They would probable be taken away to a faraway place, separated, locked up for all eternity, maybe even longer. But what if they could win? That would be an even bigger problem; they’d have to flee again, but where to? Could they keep on running away? They probably couldn’t, but neither of them seemed to be able to have a better idea. After having thought of many possible scenarios, she lay her head down on the pillow, and her thoughts shifted to a completely different subject.Who was this young man who had come out of nowhere, and had helped her whenever he could do so? Why did he even bother? He was a better Duelist than she was; he could easily leave her behind and go do whatever he wanted. But she already knew him better than that; he was a kind person, someone whom she could trust. Like a brother? Perhaps. She didn’t know, she had never had a brother... “Ann?”“Yes, mom?” she looked up from her Biology homework. Her mother, a woman with bright red hair, only a bit taller than she was, had entered her room. She seemed to be both happy and anxious, emotions that are not often combined.“I thought that it might be a good time to tell you very important...” A small smile appeared on her face, a face that resembled Ann’s as if they were twins.“It seems like you’ll be getting a baby brother...” Her eyes opened. Someone had knocked on the door.“Ann? We should go ‘n have some breakfast. It’s already ten...”She jumped up, not remembering anything about what she had dreamt. “Yeah, be right there.”She quickly put on some clean clothes, put little effort in combing her hair, and then washed her face at the tiny lavatory, which was ironically almost as small as the one back home.“There, ready to go...““Better take our backpacks with us right away.” he replied. They left the room, and Saitu locked it. He pocketed the key and together they left for the hotel’s restaurant, a large circular room, in which several mismatching wooden tables and chairs stood. A small buffet seemed to be made for only a few persons, and except for Ann and Saitu, there was only one person to be seen. A young woman, clearly several years older than Ann, sat at the other end of the room, clad in a dark brown coat, that matched her long maroon hair and eyes. She wasn’t eating, but was stirring a cup of coffee and paid absolutely no attention to either of them.Ann sat down, while Saitu went to get some food. She used the time to inspect the woman closer. Her curly hair hid most of her face, but she was clearly a beautiful woman, causing Ann to wonder what she was doing in a place like this. On her table, next to her coffee, was a large, snow white Duel Disk, and Ann immediately checked her own, which she had attached to her backpack. Was this woman, whoever she was, also running away?Saitu came back carrying two trays with toast and eggs, and two coffees.“Thanks...” she muttered.“What’s wrong?” he asked as he sat down. The woman threw a glance at them, and then checked her watch.“Dunno...” she whispered. “There’s something about her, but I don’t know what.”“You’re probably just imagining things...”“Maybe I am. What time is it?”“Ten thirty, so if that Tönisteiner guy keeps his promises, we’re about to get into some action pretty soon.” The lady looked at her watch for a last time, then stood up, and strapped on her Duel Disk. She started walking towards their table, and Ann looked up in surprise. She suddenly realized that it wasn’t a coincidence for this woman to be here: on her Duel Disk, she could now clearly make out two golden S’s.“Allow me to introduce myself...Marina Solacio, level ten Duelist and high-ranked member of the Social Security.” Her voice was higher than Ann had thought it would’ve been. “I assume you already know why I’m here?”“Yup.” Saitu said, draining his coffee. “You’re here to get us in prison, aren’t you?”She smiled, and raised an eyebrow. “Not exactly...Seems like Roosevelt exaggerated again, the stupid git. Well, he did get what was coming to him. Took hours to get his bloodstains away...”“Then why are you here?” Ann dared to ask.“Well, as you might have noticed, our Master would like to have a chat with you. A mere conversation, that’s all. He himself said that the first one to harm either of you will end up the same way as Roosevelt; almost sliced in half, thrown into the sea...” A slightest hint of amusement could be seen in her eyes.“What if we refuse?”“Come, come... It won’t be that bad, will it? But if you really insist, we might as well Duel for it...”Saitu was about to get up, but Ann had already taken her Duel Disk.“Let me take care of this...It’ll be a good practice...”She activated her Disk, and took several steps back, while Saitu helped himself to some more coffee. “Then make it good.”“I know I will, and therefore I’ll go first.” Marina replied. “And I start the Duel with two copies of Upstart Goblin!”She Drew two new Cards, and Ann’s Life Points rose to ten thousand.“Quite decent. I set a Monster and one face-down, and end my Turn.”Ann Drew a card. “I Summon Nurse Reficule the Fallen One!”She placed a card from her hand onto her Duel Disk, and the winged nurse covered in bandages appeared. (1400/1600)“Next, I’ll activate my own copy of Upstart Goblin, but it will cause you a thousand points of damage!”She Drew again, and Marina’s Life Points decreased to 7,000.“I attack with Nurse Reficule!” She declared, and Reficule immediately tore the face-down monster apart with her long nails. Just before being destroyed, the monster revealed to be a large hairy creature with three eyes. (100/600)“When Sangan is destroyed,” Marina explained while going through her Deck, “I add one Monster with less than thousand attack points to my hand. And I choose Exodia the Forbidden One!”“So you’re playing Exodia...Interesting. I set one more card and end my Turn.”“Not yet. During your End Phase, I activate Limit Reverse!” she countered. A Trap Card flipped open; and Sangan reappeared.“My Turn. I activate Allure of Darkness, which means that I can Draw two Cards and then remove a Dark Monster.”She Drew two new Cards, and then placed a copy of Mystic Tomato in a slot on the side of her Duel Disk.“Next, I activate Emergency Teleport, so that I can Special Summon Krebons from my Deck!”A flash of green light appeared on her side of the field, causing a little cyber monkey-like creature to appear (1200/400)“I Tune my Krebons to my Sangan to Synchro Summon Magical Android in Attack position! Through Sangan’s effect, I add Left Leg of the Forbidden one to my hand!”Both her Monsters disappeared, and then a long-haired woman armed with a futuristic shield and sword appeared on the same place, while Marina had once again taken a card from her Deck. (2400/1700)“Impressive.” Ann told her.“Thanks, but I’m not done yet. I activate Dark Eruption to add Sangan back to my Hand, and I Normal Summon him.”The three-eyed creature was once again on the field.“Sangan! Attack her Nurse!”Sangan charged at Reficule, who countered his attack by shredding him to pieces. (Marina 6,600)“Now I add Right Arm of the Forbidden One to my hand.” she smiled again. “Looks like it’s almost over... Android, destroy her Nurse!”“First, I’ll activate Gift Card, and cause you 3,000 points of damage!”Marina’s Life Points went down to 3,400, and Ann’s to 9,000.“I end my Turn by Setting another two Cards, and Android heals my Life Points to 4,000.By the way Ann Drew her Card, Saitu could see it would be her last one; she pulled it out of her Duel Disk slowly, and was obviously rewarded for this.“Okay. First off, I’ll activate Ancient Leaf! This Card can only be activated by paying 2,000 Life Points when I’ve got 9,000 or more, so I’m down to 7,000.Next, also activate a copy of Dark Eruption, and I re-summon my Nurse!”The Nurse reappeared, along with two face-down holograms.“Next, I’ll activate Rain of Mercy, increasing my Life Points by a thousand and decreasing yours by the same amount...” (Ann 8,000 Marina 3,000)“And then I’ll have to end my Turn...”“Then this one shall be the last...I Draw!”“And I activate another Gift Card, causing me to win!”“Not if I chain Solemn Judgment!”Ann’s Trap Card shattered to pieces, but Marina only had 1,500 Life Points left. If Ann could survive this Turn, she’d win.“Looks like it’s over. I activate a second copy of Dark Eruption...Wonderful card, isn’t it?”Sangan got Summoned again. Once more, he clashed with Reficule.“Due to Sangan’s umpteenth trip to the Graveyard, I add Right Leg of the Forbidden One to my Hand. But I’m going to activate another copy of Limit Reverse, to get him on my Field for another Battle!”Sangan again committed suicide by attacking Reficule, and so Marina got Left Arm of the Forbidden One. She then showed her hand, containing all five Forbidden One Cards.“Looks like I win.” she said. “But you got close... Now come with me.”She started walking towards the exit, and Saitu stood up too, but Ann hadn’t moved since all the holograms faded away.“No.”“Excuse me?” Marina replied.“I’m not going.”“Ann, you heard what she said. Nothing’s going to happen.”“I just can’t, Saitu...”This last sentence confused him.“Why not?”“Because...” she bit her lip, a tear almost rolled over her cheek. “Because Ludwig von Tönisteiner is the man who killed my parents!”An awkward silence filled the room, as Marina cast a furious look at Ann, who replied by doing the same...
Sangan is another one of those cards that is a staple in many real life Decks. With his Effect, he can search out cards that can turn the Duel around, like Most of the good Tuners and Morphing Jar, but one of the first uses of this card was searching out Exodia Pieces.
“No...” Marina whispered. The smirk on her face had disappeared. “If only you knew the truth already, you’d be willing to come.”Ann turned around, facing the room’s exit. “But I don’t. So goodbye.”“Ann...”“No, Saitu. Nothing you say can make me change my mind.” She looked back at him, and only at him. Not at Marina, who was still struck by her words. “I’m going.”She left the room, leaving hollow footsteps behind her. Before she got too far, she suddenly found a handcuff around her wrist. She turned around angrily, and the iron chain rattled.“Don’t do that!” she yelled at Saitu, who had shot the chain from his Duel Disk.“You made a promise.” he replied in a calm tone. “We’ve got nothing to lose.”“But even less to gain from it!”Saitu shook his head. “Wrong.”Marina interrupted their short discussion. “Hem-hem...I was also under the impression that you were an honest girl. But I will leave you a choice.”Ann looked back at her, still furious about her defeat. “No matter what you propose, I’m going.”“Not if I don’t unlock this chain, you won’t.” was Saitu’s answer.Ann cast a filthy look at Saitu too, and sat down on a nearby chair. What on earth was he doing? Was he one of them? Of course he wasn’t. If he was, he wouldn’t have dueled Roosevelt. And on top of that, he was too kind, honest ...“Now that you are finally listening...” Marina continued, getting a bit impatient. “I give you two options. The first option is coming with me.”“Not in a million years!” she sneered.“Let her finish.” Saitu said.“Thanks again. Now, the second option is running away. But in that case, you won’t get any further than this hotel’s doors, where you will be shot in the head by two of my henchmen.”“I’d know what to choose...” Saitu answered.“Well, I’m not sure of what to choose.”“Don’t be so ridiculous.”“I’m not. How long before you think we’ll survive if we come with her?”“Oh...long enough. Depends on how you’ll behave once we get there.”He looked back at Marina, who was now examining the ugly ceiling. “If it might make you choose any faster, Ludwig claims to be on the verge of finding out where they are.”“Who?”Marina’s attention went back to Ann, with an expression as if she was explaining something very simple to a three-year old. “Your parents of course, who else?”The short silence that followed was quickly broken by the sound of Saitu’s chain flying back into the Duel Disk. Ann sprang up again.“Don’t you mess around with me!” she yelled, angrly pointing a finger at Marina.“I am not.” she replied a bit louder, but still controlled. “I cannot prove anything, but the fact that I haven’t killed either of you yet seems like a convincing fact.”Saitu laughed softly. “I thought no one was allwoed to do so?”“Congratualtion. You’ve just proven that it’d be safe to come with me. If your parents aren’t dead then why wouldn’t you already be?”“Seems like that settles it.” Saitu spoke to Ann. “C’mon. We’re going.”Ann’s eyes flashed towards him for a second, and then she faced Marina again.“If anything happens I’ll kill you with my bare hands.” Her face reddened slightly as she put her hair behind her ears. She turned arouns, but in a swift movement, Marina touched her shoulder, causing her to fell onto the ground.“What?” she asked when Saitu raised his eyebrows. He had spotted Marina’s ring, out of which she had made a small needle appear.“She said she was going to come with us voluntarily.”A little smile appeared on her beatiful face once more. “I thought she might have been a little nuissance. That’s all.”*** The sky had already begun to darken when Ann opened her eyes again. She found herself in a limo, leaning onto Saitu’s shoulder. She din’t take the time to look around, but buried her face in her hands. A severe headache seemed to have struck her. She struggled to remember what had happened and where she was, and more importantly; where she was going.“Damn it... how long have I been asleep?”“Dunno...several hours. It was long enough for my left side to become numb. We should almost be getting to...wherever she’s bringing us.”Ann breathed in and out slowly several time, and then looked at her right. Saitu seemed to be relaxed, yet tired. Knowing him, he had probably been awake the entire trip, to make sure nothing fishy happened. She knew it hadn’t been necessary, but appreciated this kind gesture nevertheless...They remained in silence, during which the only sound that could be heard was the monotone buzzing of the car’s engine. Ann thought about nothing. Her mind seemed to be empty. But then a single thought enlightened her. Were her parents still alive? If they were, everything might become normal again. If Ludwig hadn’t killed them, or had them killed, he probably wasn’t going to. He’d release them, and then the entire family would be reunited. But what would Saitu do after that? Ann didn’t know what to think of him for a second. He had been like a brother. Yes, a brother, a friend on whom she could trust when she needed it. Or was he? Each time that they had watched each other in the eye, how rare those occasions might’ve been, she had seen two little stars in those small, green eyes. Was it possible that there was more than just friendship? She managed to remember the first words he had ever spoken to her...“I thought it was only logical to do. Who knows what would’ve happened to you?”Did he just feel morally obliged to stay with her? Probably not. She wasn’t the type of girl that looked weak...or, that was how she thought about it.“Saitu?”Her voice sounded uncomfortably weak.“Yeah?”“I...started wondering... about something.”“Logical, isn’t it?”A smile. Those two little stars again.“Well...do you remember the time when we first met?”“As if it was last week. Why?”“Then do you remember the first question I asked you?”“Certainly, even though you stuttered due to exhaustion. The question was why I had bothered to help you out. What about it?”“I’d like you to answer that question again.”Saitu took his time to search for an answer. He gazed at the sky which he couldn’t see, and Ann looked away. Had she been rude? It was a nasty habit of hers. Maybe that was why she liked him so much. He was calm, and prepared. Strong, fierce, though gentle...the opposite of her.“When a question is repeated, one is often unsurprised that the answer is too, given it was already correct the last time the question was asked.”She giggled. “Sounds as if it could’ve been written by Einstein.”“Or Descartes, for that matter. People seemed to have forgotten he was also into psychology, but I prefer him over Einstein...”She smiled again, but then she realized. Saitu knew who Einstein and Descartes were. That meant that he was either from the future, or the past. Maybe another dimension, but a dimension that was similar to hers.“Saitu!” she whispered. “Did you just understand what I did?”He looked away from the limo’s ceiling, and he seemed to realize too. Everything suddenly became clear.“I do...My world and this world were once the same. Since there are two of them now, it must’ve split. Maybe that’s why Ludwig wanted both of us.”“What do you mean?”“Whether he is good or evil, he must be interested in the archway in the basement of the St.-Edwards church. If we are the ones that can open it, it is probably a gate between our two dimensions...” The limo slowed down, and stopped. The door was opened from the outside.“Well...seems like Miss Espiro woke up then?” Marina said.“Couldn’t stay asleep forever, could I?” Ann replied frankly.“No, I’d have to use my left-hand ring for that...” she muttered as Saitu got out of the limo. “My Master is waiting for you. Let me guide you to his office. But please, do not speak so rude to him. He killed the last person who did that...”
I know there wasn’t a Duel, but I’d hate to break the continuity...D.D.G. was rarely seen in competitive Decks before, and the chance it ever will is rather small. The purpose of this card was to remove D.D. Survivor or D.D. Scout Plane, so that it wouldn’t bother the player.

RyanAtlus

The short silence was broken by a few simple words.“They have arrived.”Upon hearing this, Ludwig smiled. “Thank you, Corteques. As soon as Solacio arrives here, you will guide the girl to her room and tell her that I apoligize for not welcoming her yet, but that I certainly will later this day.”Corteques, a man in a dark suit, a green tie and sunglasses, nodded curtly and then left the room.So at last he would finally meet them. Both of them were very special to him, and for a split second he was wondering whether he should tell them that.Of course he wouldn’t. If anyone knew of his true intentions, his entire regime would fall apart, and he himself would be killed. Or worse. He focused on the room he was in. His East Wing’s office was very similar to the three others he had, except for some minor differences. Some of the books on the shelves were different, and the tapestry here was light gray.He stood up, and walked towards one of he bookshelves on his right, and closed his eyes before picking up a book. He opened them again, and took a glance at what he had picked.“Moriae encomium, sive Stultitiae laus”The Praise of Folly. An interesting, almost sarcastic choice for this moment. He put it back, and sat down upon his comfortable chair again. Now, where would he start once Saitu arrived here? Always start from the beginning, someone had once told him. But where was the beginning?Three knocks on the door.“Enter.” Ludwig replied. The two people who came in contrasted greatly. First came Marina Solacio, in her long, brown fur coat, and a boy with an antique Duel Disk on his arm, clad in an old pair of jeans and a black shirt was following her. Ludwig estimated the the boy was larger than him by several inches.“Thank you, Miss Solacio. Now leave.”Marina pulled a face, but then left. How could he dismiss her, one of his most loyal Commanders without any further explanation?“Well, well, well... what’ve we got here?” he spoke in an almost sarcastic tone. “Looks like you owe me some answers, Mister Kaiba...”“So do you.” was Saitu’s dry reply. “I haven’t done anything wrong, as far as I know.”Ludwig smiled. “Would you mind answering my questions first?”“Yes I would.”Ludwig’s shiny white teeth were now visible. That had clearly been the answer he had been waiting for. “Then let’s decide it with a Duel...It seems that you are far more talented than you look. Would you mind me taking the first turn?”“I think I’ll take that one.” He unfolded his Duel Disk. Why on earth did Ludwig want to Duel him? And why did he himself care so much about the answers that might be given?“Draw!” he declared. This didn’t look too bad. “I activate Reinforcements of the Army, and add Dark Blade to my Hand. Next, I activate Polymerization to fuse him with Pitch-Dark Dragon!”The dark swordsfighter and dragon appeared. The warrior mounted the Dragon, and a new monster was born. (2200/1500) “Set 1, Turn End.”“Well, well, well...such a strong start. But I’m afraid your defences are only feeble...”Saitu looked up.“You’d need a good hand to get over this field.”At this particular phrase, Ludwig started laughing uncontrollably, reminding Saitu of a dog.“The thing is, young lad, that I can win in whichever turn I want to! Draw! I activate Hand Destruction, so I discard Reflect Bounder and Mystic Tomato and draw two new cards.”Saitu discarded the cards he had left, Rare Metal Dragon and Bait Doll. He Drew two new cards, Lightning Vortex and Enemy Controler. They could make the difference next turn...“Don’t look to happy, lad, because I’ve already won! I activate Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying whatever you’ve got on your back line!”Saitu moaned as his face-down Torrential Tribute was shred to pieces by a small vortex.“And now, I’ll Summon the almighty dragon of chaos by removing from play the Monsters I just discarded, for they are Light and Dark! Come forth, Chaos Emperor Dragon, Envoy of the beginning!”A blinding green flash of light illuminated the room, and out of nowhere, a dragon with green scales appeared, flapping its great wings. (3000/2500)“Nice.” Saitu said. “But he won’t kill me yet, won’t he?”“No. But another Monster will, by activating Doule Summon and Summoning Sangan!”The furry, brown creature looked smaller than ever next to the giant dragon. (1000/600)“Envoy, blast everything away!”A second burst of light seemed to explode. But this time, Saitu felt pain in his chest. No ordinary pain, but pain as if he got crushed by several grown elephants. It was nothing like the pain he had felt before by Solid Vision, and seemed to pierce his heart. His Life Points had decreased to 6,200. And if that wasn’t already enough, all the cards he had left, seemed to have vanished. Ludwig didn’t seem to feel sympathy. With a vicious look on his face, he was already fanning through his Deck to apply Sangan’s effect. Saitu knew what was going to happen. Ludwig’d Summon Yata-Garasu through Double Summon’s effect, causing him to get trapped in a lock.“I surrender.”Ludwig looked up from the card he had just taken from his Deck.“What?”“You’ve won. I’ve lost. I am the weakest.”Ludwig’s teeth showed themselves, and Saitu noticed he looked a bit like a vampire when they did.“In that case, a deal’s a deal. My questions will be answered first.”By the time Saitu had gotten up, Ludwig was already seated behind his desk.“Fancy a drink?” he asked as soon as Saitu sat down. “Whiskey? Cognac? Jenever? Or perhaps a glass of water?”“Errr...” he was surprised by this question. “A jenever, if you really insist.”With a smooth movement, Ludwig took a bottle and two glasses from under his desk, and filled both of them with a rich quantity of thick, yellowish liquid.“The best vanilla jenever there is. Imported from Belgium. There’s only one thing the Belgians seem to be good with, and that’d be alcohol. Cheers.”He took a sip from his glass, and Saitu followed his example.“So...I assume you didn’t just...invite me to have a drink, didn’t you, sir?”Ludwig took another sip, and took the time to answer, examining the blue hat that stood on his right side.“Not really. What I wanted to know is; where do you come from?”“Excuse me?”“You seem to have appeared out of nowhere several weeks ago, right?”Saitu frowned and took a second sip too.“Indeed, sir.”“Well, where did you live before that?”He put down his glass. “To be completely honest; I wouldn’t know it myself, sir.”“Ah...”He gazed through the large windows, noticing how the sky began to darken. “Then I will ask you my second question, which is more a request than a question.”Saitu looked surprised. “What could it be that you want from me, sir?” He put his glass back on the desk, and rested his hand on his knees. Finally, he’d find something out about Ludwig’s real plans, whichever those might be.“As you might have realized, Insopia is one of the greatest nations in the world when it comes to Dueling...”“I have.”“Then it won’t surprise you that I want proof of the fact that it is the greatest of them all. In other words, Insopia is to participate in the World Championship. The four greatest Duelists of the country will have a chance to defend it.”“I see...I assume that that’s the reason why you have brought me and Ann here? To participate in a card game tournament?”Ludwig put his hands behind his head, and leaned back with a satisfied look on his face.“No, not quite. Nothing is given to those who have not earned it.”Now it was Saitu’s turn to smile, even though his was less clear than Ludwig’s. “Then how can I earn this position?” He din’t know why he would’ve liked to participate, but something told him he had to, a strange feeling he did not understand.“By qualifying for it, of course. You will, together with Miss Espiro, take place in a small tournament in which seven of my main Commanders will also compete. The tournament will take place in two days, and only three of you will accompany me to the event itself in Japan.”Ludwig himself seemed to get excited by the mere thought itself, and who could blame him? He might finally find a challenge there, solemnly hoping to be able to defeat all the best duelists.“Then I’m in.”“Good.” The glasses were refilled, and together they toasted on the participation of Insopia in the Felixus Cup. *** “A very polite man, he is!” Ann shouted. Corteques had just brought her the message.“He will explain it to you later this evening, Miss.”“What if I don’t want to stay?”“I’m afraid you have no choice.” he answered. This girl started to annoy him. He had only known her for five minutes, but he already realized it would be better to avoid discussion. He closed the door behind him and walked back to his lounge. Ann dropped her backpack on a table, and sat down on the bed. She was in a large, comfy room painted in a dark red, with beautiful long curtains which only just reached the soft carpet. Her canopy bed was gorgeous, yet she couldn’t appreciate its beauty at the moment. What kind of situation had she gotten herself into this time? She had been imprisoned. Even though her door wasn’t locked, she was sure that she wouldn’t be able to get out of this castle-like building. She kicked out her shoes and lay down on the bed, not in the mood to put on her pajamas. Completely lost in thoughts, she dozed off, tired from the long trip. The last time she could think of was Saitu, and what he might’ve been doing at that moment... Thousands of miles away, thousands of years ago, Ann was walking through the sunny city of Andenville. It was the day before the weekend preceding her final exams. She knew she had to do well if she wanted to get in Duel Academy, and since she had always been an average student, she’d have to study hard to pass. She turned a corner, entering the street where she lived. But something just didn’t feel right. Two lorries were standing in front of her house, and one of them was just leaving. For one moment, she stood still, and then turned back as two large men in green tuniques jumped out of the second lorry. She tried to run, but they were too fast, and she knew that all was lost now; that life was now over, and that she’d never find happiness again...
This Dragon is without no doubt one of the most powerfull in the game. It can easily set up the Yata Lock, out of which it is practically impossible to escape.
“Oh, it keeps getting better, doesn’t it?” “Ann, I think you shouldn’t stick to your first impression when it comes to –”“Don’t you tell me what to do. I don’t believe you’re in the right position to do so.”The rising morning sun was finding itself a way through the windows of the small breakfast room Ludwig had had prepared for them. It bore a striking resemblance to the breakfast room of the St. Edwards Hotel, except for this one not being hideous.Ann took another gulp of her glass of orange juice, which, by the taste of it was very fresh, and then continued eating in silence. For some reason, it seemed as if Saitu had betrayed her, and had joined the other side. If he had, she’d fight alone, even against him if she had to.Meanwhile, Saitu was thinking of other things. He had now seen Ludwig’s Dueling techniques. The next time he’d Duel him, he’d use a different approach. His Deck’s focus was still too weak, focusing only on offensive power. That, he thought, should be changed once he got the right cards for it. If only he could get hold to them before the start of the Felixus Cup...“So...” Ann finally said.“So what?”Ann sighed. “This World Championship thing. Is that the only reason he chased us down?”Should he tell her? Even Saitu himself didn’t know why Ludwig had interrogated him about his past. If one cannot answer a question, it’s better not to.“I guess so...” was his reply. “But that must mean he thinks very high of us as Duelists.”Ann didn’t answer, but it was clearly visible that this compliment had made her less moody. They finished their breakfast without saying another word. Just as Saitu was about to say something about the duel he had had with Ludwig, Corteques the servant entered the room.“Miss Espiro”, he said, a little bit more polite than he actually wanted to be, “Sir von Tönisteiner invites you for the conversation that you wanted.”Ann replied by raising an eyebrow. “Now?”Corteques sighed. “Yes, now...”Ann was about to get up as Ludwig himself entered the room, clad in a light grey costume. He seemed to have enjoyed a good night’s sleep.“Please, Miss Espiro. Sit down again. We might as well discuss whatever should be discussed in this room.”This time, it was the servant’s turn to be surprised. “Sir, do you think it would be appr-”“Silence.”He did as Ludwig obeyed, standing next to the door.“You’re starting to annoy me. Go to my main office and work on that stain. I’m still not satisfied about the result yet.”As soon as Corteque’s footsteps couldn’t be heard anymore, Ludwig turned his attention to Ann before sitting down on the spare chair. As soon as he sat down, Ann attacked him with her first question.“Well. Where are they?”Saitu understood that she asked about her parents’ location.“Safe. Which means not in this country.”“In which country?”“I don’t know.”“I’m sure you do.”“I’m sure I don’t.”If looks could kill, Ludwig would’ve dropped dead. It was clear that Ann wouldn’t forgive him for what she thought he might have caused.“How do you know they are safe?”“Why do you think they are not?”“They got caught...by your men!”“Which means?”Ann took a deep breath, apparently not knowing what to ask now. Ludwig took his chance to turn the tables, and used Saitu to do so.“Have you told her about the tournament?”“Yes.”“And about the qualification round?”“Yes.”“And about the prize?”No answer. Just as he had expected. Ann started to counterattack again.“Which prize?”“It depends.”“On what?”“On the winner of the tournament.”“What if one of us wins?”A smile appeared on his face. “First comes qualification, then comes victory declaration...Seems obvious? But in fact, I am hoping for one of you to win...That’s why I’ll give you a small advantage.”Even though Ann was starting to get curious about the tournament, she didn’t show it. Both she and Saitu looked as he took out a little key from his chest pocket and put it down on the table.“The key to my private card collection. You can find it in the North-“Saitu interrupted him. “We can’t accept such a gift, sir.”Ludwig looked at him in surprise. “Can’t?”“No. It wouldn’t be fair towards other Duelists competing in the tournament.”“Like they can’t get all the fancy cards they want.” Ann snapped at him, grabbing the key.“Accept it as a gift. As compensation for all the time you had to spend in that terrible, terrible village.”“Then why did you put so many people in it if you think it’s that terrible?”Ludwig thought for a few seconds, and then gave his answer.“Protection. When light and darkness meet, that’s where chaos begins. And chaos is something undesirable. Now, please excuse me.”He stood up and left without looking back. What had happened? Did she manage to see through his plans? No, she couldn’t have. Things were far too complicated for a teenager to understand. He stopped walking in the middle of a corridor, and stood there to think. How on earth did he get into this? People all over the country thought of him as a bad person, and maybe he was one indeed. But had that been his own choice, or his predestination? He buried his face in his hands, and his gloves absorbed a single teardrop. *** Several sunny summers ago; it was the day that Ludwig’s life would change, except for that he didn’t know it yet. He was eight years old, perfectly happy. He was lying in the middle of a forest, his eyes closed and the sun rays gently stroking his skin. He liked the forest. He liked the smell of the trees, the chirping of the birds and the sounds produced by the river nearby. He could’ve stayed there forever, almost falling asleep, had it not been for a girl’s voice that seemed to come out of nowhere.“Luddy! Are you here? Your parents said you were here! Luddy!”He opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the blue sky, a blue that was identical to the color of his eyes.“Alaïs?”A young girl, not much older than he was, emerged from between the trees. She was dressed in a light pink shirt and a matching skirt. Sandals covered her little feet, and her long curly blonde hair was hanging loose over her shoulders.“Luddy, what are you doing here?”“Just enjoying the summer.” He smiled. “Wanna join?”“Sure!”She found herself a place not too far away from him, and rested her head on a flat stone. Ludwig still hadn’t moved an inch. He rested some more for a few minutes, as if he was still alone. Should he tell her?“So...what brings you here?”“Oh...don’t know, actually.”“Did something happen?”“Not to me, but the news did say something about an accident in Japan.”“Zero Reverse?”“Yeah!” She sat up, and looked at him with interest. “How do you know about it?”He sat up too, and smiled back at her. “Never mind.”For some reason, Alaïs was very curious about the accident that had happened.“Aw, c’mon Luddy! You can’t have heard it from the news! The first report of it was less than twenty minutes ago, and it was live!”“Just drop it.”“No. Where did you get it from?”“You’re not going to give up, aren’t you?”“The accident happened less than an hour ago, so you must have some resource that I don’t have!”Young Ludwig remained silent. When Alaïs wanted to go on, he took a small, silvery package from his pocket and gave it to her.“Oh! Is this the new pack?”Ludwig nodded.“But how? The release is still two weeks away!”“I know. So don’t tell anyone about it.”Alaïs nodded. The sun was brightly reflected by the silver letters.“Duelist Genesis...Do you think I’ll be a good Duelist one day?”“Perhaps...I can’t see the future.”If only he could. Nobody knew what happened next, for it was something unpredictable. The skies had started to darken, until nothing could be seen anymore. “Alaïs!”“Ludwig!”He searched for her hand and found it.“What’s happening?”“I don’t know!” He was disgusted by the fear in his own voice. He did know what was happening. He knew. All of this was an aftershock of Zero Reverse. He had felt it almost an hour ago. He had seen what Japan had seen. And yet he hadn’t thought of warning anyone. But now, he was afraid. Afraid of what he himself had predicted. And then it stopped. The darkness disappeared inside of him; he felt it going in through his mouth and nose, as if it was cold, dirty air. But he knew that it couldn’t be stopped, even if he tried. One last look at the sky, one last look at Alaïs who was trying to wake him up, and then he fell asleep. Or he fainted. Nobody ever knew...

Today would be a decisive day. That was Ludwig's first thought as he woke up.Later this day, the preliminary tournament was to take place, and when it was over, he’d know who would accompany him to Japan in an attempt to put Insopia on the map.Not really knowing what to put on, he chose for a suit almost identical to the one he had worn the day before, and quickly combed his hair before putting on some eau de toilette.Today would be good. He smiled at himself in the mirror. He looked young. This was because he still was young, and yet he had already achieved so much. Actually, he could be quite proud of himself.Three soft knocks on the door. Ludwig answered with a royal “Enter!”, and saw that it was the tailor’s assistant who had knocked. It was a girl with dark hair and soft facial features.“The costumes are finished, sir von Tönisteiner.”“Well, thank you, Michage. Please have someone inform the guests. Which tie would you advise?”He showed her the dark red and light blue tie he had been trying to choose between.Michage, who had only been working at the castle-like building, was surprised by both the question and the fact that her new master already knew her by name.“The blue one, sir.”“Thank you. I had been thinking of it myself.”She nodded, and then left. She headed for the part of the room in which she knew Ludwig’s guests should be having breakfast. She didn’t really know what to think of her master. He seemed kind, but so many bad rumors about him had been heard by her ears before...She found the youngsters where she had expected them to, and noticed that an extra table had been added to the room, almost completely covered with cards. Both of them looked up from their Decks as soon as she entered.“Sir von Tönisteiner wanted to let you know that the costumes he requested have been finished.”“Costumes?” Ann asked. “We know nothing about any costumes.”Michage didn’t know what to answer. She didn’t like abrupt conversation changes.“I suppose he just had some new clothes made for us.” Saitu replied in Michage’s place. “Which is good, because I haven’t got many left.” He slipped his new Deck in his freshly polished Duel Disk. Ann rolled with her eyes, but did the same nevertheless. Actually, she looked forward to getting some new clothes. The blue jeans and white T-shirt she was wearing were getting old, and Saitu’s black outfit could make room for something new too. They followed Michage to the room where she and the head tailor had been working the past evening and night, and was glad that the two of them seemed to like the result.Ludwig obviously had wanted to keep the costumes a secret, for he had not allowed her to take their measurements. He had just given her the images the cameras had recorded, nothing more. For Saitu, she had designed a long white cape with blue accents, and grey clothing to wear underneath it. She had tried not to base it on the Japanese top Duelist Jack Atlus’ outfit, but she hadn't been able to resist the temptation; she was a big fan of him.She had made Ann a long black dress; it was one she herself would’ve liked to wear, with two light blue lines running from the shoulders over the arms.Michage was delighted to see that the clothes fitted perfectly, and for a second she was proud of herself. “That dress looks good on you.”“Are you serious? I’m not sure I do.”Ann and Saitu were back in the breakfast room, sorting all the leftover cards in a box to bring back.“Of course I’m serious. Why wouldn’t I be?”Ann felt that she was starting to blush, and therefore pretended to be examining a Gold Rare version of Sangan. “Well, let’s bring these back, won’t we?”“Yeah...but maybe we should test our Decks first?“Against who?”Saitu unfolded his Duel Disk and took a few steps back. “Against me?”Ann smiled and followed his example. “Sure about this?”Saitu nodded. “You go first.”A bit suspicious, Ann drew her first six cards. It didn’t look too bad, but her opening hand was far from perfect.“I set one Monster face-down, and two more cards on my back row. I end my Turn.”Saitu Drew his sixth card. It looked as if his hand could block Ann’s strategy for a turn or two, and decided to go for that strategy.“I Summon Armageddon Knight, in attack position!”He placed the card on his Duel Disk, and a warrior with long, untidy black hair appeared. His armor was getting rusty, but it didn’t look as if he was prepared to go down without a fight. (1400/1200)“With Armageddon’s effect, I can send one Dark Monster from my Deck to the Graveyard.” he explained. “And the card I choose is Necro Gardna!” A hollow image of a white-haired phantom-like creature appeared, and then dissolved.“Armageddon Knight, attack her Monster!”The Knight pierced Ann’s face-down with a single sword slash, and a giant tomato appeared before shattering to pieces.“You triggered my Monster’s Effect!” Ann countered. “When Mystic Tomato is Destroyed by battle, I Special Summon Nurse Reficule the Fallen one from my Deck!”Ann’s loyal Fairy Monster appeared by her side. (1400/600) “And I’ll abuse her right away with two copies of Gift Card!”Two huge envelopes flew towards Saitu, exploding as soon as they were right next to him.[saitu 2,000]“Well done, but I won’t lose.”He would lose, and he knew it. He could stall a bit longer if he could negate the effect of Nurse Reficule for a while.“I’ll Activate Allure of Darkness!” He Drew two more cards, and was forced to remove from play his second Armageddon Knight, but the cards he had Drawn compensated that loss.”“I set two cards and end my Turn.”Two holograms appeared, and Ann Drew a card. She smiled upon seeing what it was. She would win this Turn: the Upstart Goblin she had Drawn, together with the Soul Taker in her hand could easily finish this Duel.“I Activate Upstart Goblin! I Draw one Card, and then Nurse Reficule will-““Quick-Play Spell Card open! Forbidden Chalice! I increase the attack of one Monster by 400, but I can negate its effect until the End Phase!”“Nice move.” Ann said as she Drew a card and saw Saitu’s Life Points go up again. “But now that my Nurse has become stronger, she can easily defeat your Knight! Reficule, destroy his Monster!”The angel flapped her wings to make a black whirlwind appear, but then got sucked into a dark vortex by Saitu’s Trap Card.“Dimsensional Prison removes from play any attacking Monster. So your Reficule won’t bother me any more this Duel.”Ann was surprised at how easily her strategy had been crushed. But she’d find a way to recover.“I set two cards in my Spell and Trap Zone, and end my Turn!”Saitu saw the holograms appear, but as soon as he had Drawn his next card, he knew he wouldn’t have to be afraid of it.“I Summon Breaker, the Magical Warrior! He will gain one Spell Counter when Summoned!”A younger knight appeared next to Armageddon Knight, and the orb on his shield began to shine with a vivid blue. (1600>1900 / 1000) He slashed with his sword, and Ann’s face-down card got blown apart. It revealed to be a magical silvery shield. (1900>1600 /1000)“My Mirror Force!” If only he had targeted the other card, then she might’ve had a chance.“That leaves your field wide open! Attack, Armageddon! Breaker!”The two Warriors hit Ann, but neither the shiny nor the rusty blade seemed to hurt her. [Ann 5,000]“Good thing this Solid Vision System is turned off.” Saitu said. “Turn End.”She Drew, and realized that if she didn’t Draw into anything that could make the Simochi-Effect take place, she’d lose. Her new card revealed to be Phantom of Chaos.“Sucks...” she thought. She ended her Turn, hoping that Saitu couldn’t generate any further advantage.“Giving up?” he smiled. “Well, luckily for you I’ve got a bad Draw. I Summon Dark Grepher!”A third malicious-looking Warrior appeared. This one wore a black mask, and his sword was shining with purple light. (1700/1600)“Attack!”This time, Ann got assaulted by not two but three blades, and saw her Life Points dropping down to 300.“I End my Turn.”It all came down to this Draw. Even though this was only a friendly Duel, she wanted to show Saitu that she could be strong too. That she could also fight if she had to.Allure of Darkness. Perfect. She Drew into Mystic Tomato and Waboku. She still had Soul Taker in her hand, and a facedown card on the field that would change things around. She removed Phantom from play.“I Summon Mystic Tomato!” she declared, and immediately the dark tomato appeared on her side of the field. (1400/1100)“Tomato, attack his Armageddon Knight!”Just as the two Monsters were about to finish each other of, the hollow image of Necro Gardna came flashed in between them, and both the Monsters stopped their attacks.“Did you really think that would work?” Saitu asked her, one eyebrow raised. She had completely forgotten about Necro Gardna. But that wasn’t going to let her down.“Very clever. I’ll just set one more card and then end my Turn.”A second hologram appeared in her Spell and Trap Card Zone.“Then this will end everything. I Draw, and attack with Dark Grepher!”The swords fighter was about to wipe out Ann’s Life Points as three woman in blue robes appeared before her Tomato, taking the blow.“Waboku, eh?” His smile became even wider.“What’re you laughing at?”“You’ve grown as a Duelist, Ann. I’m happy to have this Duel with you. But that doesn’t mean I’ll let you win.” He looked at his cards, and saw what he had Drawn.“I’ll activate Lightning Vortex, destroying your Monster! And I’ll discard another Necro Gardna to do so!”A flash of lightning filled the room, and when it had stopped, Ann found her Monster to have disappeared.“Draw!” She had grown as a Duelist... If Saitu said something like that, he must really mean it... She glanced at her card, and now it was her Turn to smile.“If I can’t Special Summon her, I’ll just go for a Normal Summon! Go, Nurse Reficule!”A second winged angel appeared, but this time, Saitu didn’t have anything to stop it.“Now I’ll activate Soul Taker, destroying your Dark Grepher!”Grepher exploded, and the black smoke that was left affected Saitu. Hed had to cough loudly as his Life Points decreased to 2,000.“I’ll end this now if you don’t mind. Trap Card Open, Paths of Destiny!”The hologram flipped face-up, revealing a picture of a man standing at a crossroad. Saitu’s Life Points went down to zero, and a large golden coin appeared in Ann’s hand.“Going for a tie, eh?” Saitu said as all the other holograms faded away.“Never.” she answered. “For I have grown enough to win! Go, coin toss!”She threw the coin into the air, and as soon as it had hit the ground, it kept spinning for a while. Both Duelists kept looking at it, until it finally fell on one side.Tails.“Too bad for you. It’s a tie.”“Yes.” Ann replied as her last 300 Life Points disappeared too. “But a tie against you seems like a win against everyone else.”The coin disappeared in a wisp of golden-coloured smoke.
Activating this Trap is always a gamble, and can sometimes decide between a win, loss, or a tie.

RyanAtlus

As soon as Ann heard the knocking on her door, she went to open it, but she was surprised to see that no one was there. The only thing to be seen in the deserted corridor was a small golden box. She first walked through the corridor to look behind the corridor, but she didn’t see anyone there neither. Confused, she picked up the box and took it with her back into her room where she put it on the bed.It had been an hour or two ago that she had returned to her room after saying goodbye to Saitu, and she had tried to do some final fixes on her Deck, without any result. She opened the box, and in it she found a letter, and a glove with a single single feather on it. There were holes for two feathers, but she focused on the letter first before examining the glove any further. Dear DuelistAs you know, I have chosen nine Duelists who should be strong enough to defend our dear country’s honour at the finals of the Felixus Cup. Unfortunately, only three of them can accompany me there. The rules of this preliminary tournament are simple; each of you have been given one feather. You can challenge any of the other Duelists present at the castle today, and if you win you will receive all the feathers of the Duelist you defeated. Do the maths, and you will see that there are three feathers for each Duelist that will accompany me, so the three who have gathered three feathers first are the winners. Pretty simple? L.v.T. Ridiculous. Simply ridiculous. That’s what she thought of it. She put on the glove, which fitted perfectly, and put her Duel Disk on her left arm. Well, if she wanted to have a shot at challenging Ludwig himself, she’d have to advance to the next round, which was to take place in Japan. But first, she’d have to gather three feathers. She left her room for a second time, and locked it. It would all come down to the following Duels, but if she lost, it’d all be over. No shot at the guy himself, even though she already knew she would lose to him anyways. She came down the stairs and entered the large hall, where she found two Duelists already Dueling. She recognised the woman in a long brown coat, who controlled Call of the Haunted with a large three-eyed creature equipped to it. It was Marina, who had already defeated Ann once.“Well, well Arceus...Looks like someone’s here to watch our Duel...” Marina sneered as she noticed Ann. “She has already seen me win once, and she will again...If you counted right, you know I’ve already got three parts of the puzzle...”She laughed out loud, but Arceus, a tall guy with short white hair clad in a silvery costume remained calm. He only controlled a face-down Monster, and had no cards in his hand. Both of the player’s Life Points were still at 8,000, but Marina’s opponent didn’t look like a pushover. When he spoke, it was in a loud voice which seemed to fill the entire hall.“My Turn! Draw!”He Drew a card, threw a glance at it, and put it in his Duel Disk.“A Trap Card? Then I suppose it’s my Turn already?”“Not at all...” he smiled. He had obviously preparing something. “Your tactics may be brilliant, but they rely too much on luck. Which is something you haven’t got today. Reveal, Morphing Jar!”“What!” Marina yelled out as a large jar appeared, with one eye nearly coming out of it appeared from the face-down card Arceus controlled. (700/600)“I assume you know what it does then?”Marina discarded her hand, and both players Drew five new cards. Now it was Arceus’ Turn to laugh.“I’ll win this turn! I activate Pot of Avarice, and use it to send five monsters back to my Deck.”He chose five cards from his Graveyard, and showed them to Marina. Ann could recognize three Cyber Dragons, Cyber Twin Dragon and Cyber Valley. This guy seemed to be running Cyber Monsters.“Next, I will Draw two cards from my Deck, and I’ll activate one of them right away! Future Fusion!”He put one of the two cards he had Drawn in his Duel Disk, and then put three monsters from his Deck in his Graveyard. His target was obviously Cyber Dragon.“Fool!” Marina yelled at him. “By the time your Dragon gets Summoned, I’ll have retrieved all my Exodia parts. Face it, big boy, you’ve lost!”“I was under the impression that it was still my Turn! I will activate Lightning Vortex, so by discarding Dekoichi, I will destroy your Sangan!”The three-eyed creature seemed to know what was to happen, for it started squealing loudly even before it was struck by lightning.“With Sangan’s effect, I’ll-”“Don’t. It’s over. I activate Card Destruction, but I don’t care whether you Draw. I’ll just empty my hand.”He placed all the cards he had left in the Graveyard Slot, but didn’t pick up any new cards. This guy was pro. The only cards left on the field were Arceus’ Morphing Jar, Future Fusion and one face-down card. He activated it, and then Marina realized it was over.“By removing from play ten Machines from my Graveyard, I Summon Chimeratech Overdragon!”A flash of Light filled the room, and Ann heard a giant dragon’s roar. As soon as she could see again, she saw a mighty machine-like, multiple-headed Dragon hovering in the middle of the room. (8000/8000)The holograms faded away, and Marina threw her silver feather at him, and it found itself a way into his handpalm.“I will not forget this.” she said, after having turned around. She left, and didn’t say anything no more.“Nice play.” Ann congratulated the man as he put his third feather on his glove.“I hope you can pull plays like that of yourself too, because the Duelists around here are of a low standard.” he shook his head, and then started climbing the stairs Ann had just descended from. She took a deep breath. If all Duelists here were as strong as that guy, she’d be in trouble. The only thing she was hoping for was that she wouldn’t have to face Saitu. She wanted to walk on through the corridor through which Marina had just left, but encountered another person there.A woman. She was slightly taller than Ann, clad in black, just as Ann herself, but an extremely different style. Her wide pants and jacket seemed to be made of fine black leather, and the cape resembled the two wings of a Dragon. The black, claw-shaped Duel Disk was everything Ann needed to know to challenge her. But, her eye fell on the glove this woman was wearing. There were already two feathers on it. Could it have been that she had already defeated Saitu?“Well, well...who’ve we got here?” the woman asked. Her voice was very smooth and silky, just like her long, black hair.“A Duelist...just like you are. I’ll challenge you...to a Duel!” her voice sounded more confident than she had thought it would.“Very well...An amateur like you could never win against me, Diales, the Empress of Dragons!”“Never heard of you, but I suppose I’m about to experience your strength?”No reply. She took two long steps backwards, and Ann did the same as she unfolded her Duel Disk.“I activate my Spell Card, Trade-In. I discard Dark Horus from my hand to Draw two cards.”She had taken the first turn, and hadn’t even waited for Ann to get ready. Whoever this woman was, she’d have to watch out.“I’ll Summon Red-Eyes Wyvern to my side of the field! And with Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon’s effect, I’ll remove my Wyvern from play to Special Summon it!”A medium-sized black Dragon appeared. It didn’t really look like a big threat (1800/1600), but then it started to grow until it was several times its original size. It flapped its wing, on which long red stripes could be seen, and then it roared fiercely, a sound which resonated loudly through the entire castle. (2800/2400)Sh!t... Such an overwhelming beast could spell trouble...and it hadn’t even been Ann’s turn yet...Diales smiled, obviously proud of herself. But Ann wasn’t going to let herself down.
The Chimeratech Fusion Monsters can be extremely powerful if used correctly. Both of them need at least 1 “Cyber Dragon”, another card that can be easily used to the players advantage.
The smile on Diales’ face still hadn’t disappeared. And the situation was about to get worse for Ann.“With this card’s effect,” she continued, “I will Special Summon the discarded Dark Horus!”Out of the ground, a second dragon of immense proportions rose. This one looked a bit purple-ish, but it's scales looked a lot like those of the other Dragon.“I’ll set two cards, and end my Turn.” Meanwhile, on the other side of the castle, Saitu had only just decided to come out of his room. If he wanted to increase his chances of winning, that would mean decrease his losing chances. In a tournament like this, he thought as he walked out of the corridor, there are two options available: duel once or twice. If it can be assumed that all Duelists are on an equal level, the chance of advancing to the next round would be fifty per cent. Dueling twice would force a Duelist to win twice, and that chance is only twenty-five per cent.He had expected it would take him quite a while to find a Duelist, but he managed to find one fairly quickly. He looked rather odd, in his yellow hunting suit, complete with hat, and the glove with two feathers.“Ah! What a fine young Duelist!” he exclaimed as soon as he noticed Saitu. He took of his hat, and made a short bow. “Allow me to introduce myself. Sir Van Peltzing, delighted to meet you!”Saitu did not bow, and the absence of a hat made it impossible to take it of.“Saitu Kaiba, beginning Duelist. The honour is mine.” After these words, he opened his Duel Disk, and Drew his opening hand. Van Peltzing was surprised by this obvious lack of manners, but followed his example anyways. Saitu took the first turn.“I Summon Twin-Sword Marauder!” he declared as a Warrior appeared in front of him, brandishing several swords that resembled a huge Swiss pocket knife. (1600/1000) "I set one more card, and end my Turn."“Then it is my Turn.”, his opponent said, and he drew a card."I'll activate Drop Off!" Saitu said, opening his Trap Card."Of my. That means I'll have to discard the card I just drew, doesn't it?"He put his newest card in his Graveyard Slot, and after examining his hand closely and stroking his large white moustache, he set two cards.“I set a monster and one face-down, my boy. And that will be all for now.”Damn it. Saitu had hoped to find out what kind of Deck that guy played by performing a weak opening move. He’d just have to continue playing. There were several possibilities that he had to take into account. Van Peltzing’s monster was surely one with high defence, or one he wanted to be destroyed. That was something Saitu could be sure of. The face-down card was probably something to destroy his Marauder when he attacked, like Mirror Force, or Sakuretsu Armor. Another possibility was that that card was Torrential Tribute. That would make perfect sense. Van Peltzing wanted his Monster to be destroyed, by any ways possible. It's defence was higher than 1,600, and therefore he set a card that destroys a monster that is Summoned, or a card that destroys an attacking monster. The best thing he could do was setting a monster and attacking with his Marauder.“I set one monster, and I attack your face-down monster with Twin-Sword Marauder!”The warrior ran forwards, and swung one of his swords at the monster, which appeared to be a gigantic hamster, with a thunderbolt on its belly. (1100/1800)“You did what I had expected you to do!” his opponent replied. “When Super-Nimble Mega Hamster is flipped face-up, I can Special Nimble Momonga from my Deck, in face-down position!”A flying squirrel appeared, and Saitu managed to check its stats before it disappeared under a face-down hologram. His Life Points went down to 7,800, but he was ready to attack the Monster with only 100 defence points.“I activate my Marauder’s effect!” Saitu declared. “After attacking a defending Monster, he can attack again! I destroy your Momonga!”Twin-Sword Marauder used one of his other swords to destroy Nimble Momonga. Two new face-down cards appeared, and Saitu saw Van Pelsing’s Life points drop to 7,500.“Then I’ll end my Turn.” he said.“During your End Phase, I’ll activate Beast Soul Swap!” Van Peltzing said suickly, as if he had almost forgotten he still had the card. “By returning Super-Nimble Mega Hamster, I Special Summon Beast Striker from my Hand!”The huge hamster disappeared, and a hairy human-like beast with a giant hammer took its place. (1850/400)“This mean I’ll take another hit next turn...” Saitu thought. “Maybe I underestimated this guy?” Ann drew a sixth card, filling her opening hand. So this was what she’d have to play with. Okay. Good enough.“I set three cards and a monster, and end my Turn!”Several holograms came out of Ann’s Duel Disk, and Diales drew a new card.“This won’t take me too long to finish. I summon a second Red-Eyes Wyvern!”A black Dragon, identical to the first one that had appeared between the two bigger Dragons. (1800/1600)“With my Equip Spell Card, Different Dimension Reincarnation, I can Special summon the first one that was removed from play!”A small black vortex appeared, and a fourth Dragon came floating out of it.“Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon! Attack her face-down Monster!”Exactly what Ann had hoped her to do. As the dragon struck the card, there appeared to be a large, fluffy marshmallow under it. (300/500) Diales’ Life Points went down to 7,000.“Looks like you hadn’t thought of Marshmallon?” Ann smiled.Diales smiled too, and Ann didn’t trust it. She looked at her Life Points; they had been reduced to 5,700. She checked Diales’ field again, and saw she had activated a continuous Trap Card, Dragon’s Rage.“As you might have noticed, this Trap Card grants all my Dragons the piercing ability.” she said. All the other Dragons proceeded to take turns in clawing and slashing away at the little creature, leaving Ann with only 600 Life Points.“So far for this turn. I told you it wouldn’t take me very long to crush you?” “Then I assume it is my Turn again.” Van Peltzing declared as he drew a card. “I’ll flip both of my Nimbles, and Summon a second Beast Striker!”A second beast appeared, identical to the first one. (1850/400) Two flying squirrels appeared from under their cards. (1000/100 1000/100)“Beast Striker, destroy his Twin-Shield Marauder, if you would be so kind...”The creature hit the warrior on the head with his hammer, causing the latter to implode. (7,550) Van Peltzing let his second Beast Striker destroy Saitu’s face-down Necro Gardna, and then sent his two Nimbles for him. Saitu felt little scars appear on his face and arms, and his Life Points dropped even more, to 5,550. But it wasn’t over yet. Van Peltzing ended his turn, leaving only his Monsters as a defence. This was where he made a mistake.“Draw!” Saitu yelled as he drew, and his draw was quite satisfactory. “I’ll activate Lightning Vortex, so I discard Destiny Hero-Malicious to destroy all your Monsters!”A Dark Warrior flew above both player’s heads, and as he exploded, rays of lightning destroyed all of Van Peltzing’s beasts.“Reveal!” he countered. “Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest! By paying a mere 1,000 Life Points, I Special Summon this Beast from my hand!”He payed his cost, and in exchange, a gigantic baboon-like creature with greenish fur jumped out of the Duel Disk to protect his master. His giant wooden club made him look really powerful. (2600/1800)“Now you’re in even bigger trouble.” his opponent smirked. “You see, the card I discarded earlier was a second copy of Green Baboon. This means that I can just revive the second when the first one is destroyed."“But only as long as you have more than 1,000 Life Points left. And that won’t be the case at the end of this Turn. As observant as you are, you might have noticed that there are exactly thee Dark Monsters in my Graveyard.”“Indeed there are. But I know, for a fact, that there are only several copies of the Dark Armed Dragon in this country, and that all of them are in possession of Sir Ludwig himself!”Saitu could only laugh at this stupid remark.“I Summon, Dark Armed Dragon!”Dark shadows filled the room, and a Dragon, even bigger than Van Peltzing’s baboon emerged from the darkness. (2800/1000)“That’s impossible! How did you get one of those?!”“I activate a Spell Card!” Saitu ignored him. “Fissure will destroy the weakest Monster on the Field, and that’d be your baboon!”The baboon disappeared in a small canyon, but came crawling out of it immediately. (LP 5,500)“Not giving up yet? Then I’ll activate the effect of my Destiny Hero. I remove it from play to Special Summon another one.”Another Warrior appeared, his face hidden beneath a scarf and his long black hair moving as if there was a strong wind. (800/800)“Even though it looks bad for me, I’m not going to give up yet. I’ll turn the tables after this turn!” the hunter defended himself.“But there won’t be a next turn! With Emergency Teleport, I can Special Summon Krebons from my Deck, and Tune it to my Malicious to form Colossal Fighter!”A cybernetic monkey-like creature came out of thin air, and immediately became transparent, leaving only his two level stars behind. The same happened to the Destiny Hero, and then all eight of the level stars aligned. From those stars, a new Warrior was born. (2800/1000)“Now I’ll remove all four of my Dark Monsters, so if you want to keep that baboon alive, you’ll have to pay 4,000 Life Points!” Saitu smirked. Van Peltzing chose to pay, and that was his mistake. If had had let his baboon die after Saitu had activated Fissure, he might’ve had a chance to survive another turn. But he still seemed pretty confident about himself.“Still smiling?”“Why not?” the man said as he checked his Life Points meter, which indicated 1,500. “Your first attack reduces my Life to 1,300, so I’ll still be able to revive my baboon. Your second attack will finally destroy it, but I’ll still have 100 Points left! So unless you can find another way to put another Dark Monster in your Graveyard, I’ll finish you of next turn.”Saitu was amazed by this guy’s stupidity, and therefore revealed his Spell Card. It depicted a large black coffin on a blue background.“With Burial from a Different Dimension, I can put three of my Dark Monsters back in the Graveyard. You can surrender now if you want...” Yes. He had done it. He was going to the next round. Van Peltzing lowered his Duel Disk, and all the holograms faded away.“Well, young man. That was quite a Duel. May I congratulate you with your victory?”They shook hands, and Saitu was glad to fill the holes in his gloves with the two silver feathers the man gave him. “My Turn!” Ann cried out as she drew a new card. Diales still controlled four Dragons, a Trap Card that gave them Piercing, and a face-down.“Here goes...I Summon Nurse Reficule the Fallen One!”She placed the card on her Duel Disk, and her most loyal Fairy jumped out of it. (1400/1100)However, before she could even stand up properly, a holy light surrounded her, and then she was gone. Diales’ Life Points had gone down to 3,500.“Looks like your strategy’s kinda dead now...Solemn Judgment can negate any Summon. Come to think of it, it can negate anything.”“But it did cost you half your Life Points. And that’s exactly what I was after.”“What?” Diales cried out. “You can’t have known I was going to do that! And besides, all your Traps became fairly useless now.”“Perhaps. Except for one.” Ann laughed as she pressed the button on her Duel Disk.Another Trap Card opened, and it showed a woman being plagued by several greenish spirits. The other Trap Cards were also activated, and huge envelopes carried by Kuribohs came out of it. They came floating towards Diales, who knew the Duel was over, and de-activated her Duel Disk. She pulled the feathers out of her glove, and walked away without another word.Ann picked up the feathers, proud of herself. *** Meanwhile, in Japan...A man with spiky blonde hair, clad in a fine white leather biking suit, was enjoying a drink while lying in a long chair. Today was the day his plan had to be carried out, and he knew he was going to succeed. He, Jack Atlus, the former Dueling King, was going to take his title back. And there was nothing anyone was going to do about it.The automatic doors opened, and another young man, about the same age as Jack entered. He looked completely different, tough. His hair was black, with yellow striped in it. He wore a jeans jacket, brown pants and matching gloves. He had several orange pieces of protective armor on him, and a long golden scar covered the left part of his face.“Jack.” he spoke. “If you don’t hurry, you’ll be late for our Duel.”Jack sat up straight, putting his drink aside. He took the time to carefully put on his grey gloves, and checked whether his leather belt looked good. He took of his earrings, two large A’s, and put them in his pocket.“C’mon. Or do you actually want to miss this?”“No.” his voice was loud and intimidating. “The King has to look good when reclaiming his title.”“Pretty sure of yourself today?”Jack didn’t answer. Of course he was sure of himself. That last match was just bad luck, and he was going to prove it.
Green Baboon is Staple in any kind of Beast Deck. With its effect, it can be Special Summoned up to seven times per Duel. When another Green Baboon is in your hand or Graveyard, you can just prevent it from being destroyed by paying a mere 1,000 Life Points!
“Well, congratulations to the three of you. You have proven yourselves, and will be rewarded for your efforts.”Arceus, Saitu and Ann were standing in Ludwig’s office, and it seemed as he had just finished his short speech. That evening, they would take his privateb jet to Japan, where the finals would take place the day after.“But on a different note...the former Dueling King, Jack Atlus, challenged Yusei Fudo for a rematch. The Duel is about to begin, and will be aired live. So if you wan to, you can join me.”The three of them nodded, and they followed him to a small cinema.“How does a Turbo Duel differ from a normal Duel?” Saitu whispered to Ann as several images of the stadium already appeared on the screen.“Oh, you’ll see.” she answered. “The main difference is that Spell Cards can’t be used, but are replaced with Speed Spells.” Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, the MC, a man in a red costume with a gigantic black hairstyle started commenting the match that was about to begin.“Everybody Listen!” he yelled through his microphone, just as enthusiastic as everybody else seemed to be. “Today, we’re about to see some fast-paced Dueling! Introducing the challenger: Jaaaack Atlus!”Jack appeared out of the catacombs, and he performed a quick tour around the circuit. Many girls screamed at the sight of this half-god on a motorcycle that was called the Wheel of Fortune. It only had one, huge wheel, in which Jack was seated, and the shiny white colour reflected the summer sun.“And now, the current King, the Indomitable Junk Rider, Yuuusei Fudo!”A red Duel Runner appeared from the catacombs at the other side of the Stade, just before Jack passed it. This caused the Riders to race half a circuit before coming to a halt right in front of the starting line.“Let’s do this, then.” Yusei said to Jack. Both of them pushed a button on their steer, and the image of a Spell Card appeared on their screen.“Everybody ready! Let’s start the Riding Duel that will decide who’s best!” The MC finally declared, and the lights at the starting line started to count down. The final light went on, and of they were. All the fans started cheering for their favourite, and Jack took the time to raise an arm, as if greeting the audience. After they were halfway, Jack accelerated, and caught up with Yusei, who did the same. He even gave it a little bit more, and right before the finish line, Jack slowed down. This caused Yusei to have to take the first Turn.Had he planned this, or did he slow down for technical reasons?“I’ll go first then!”Yusei drew a card, and the zeros indicating SPC on the scoreboard became ones.“I summon Shield Wing in Defense Mode, and set one card. I End my Turn.”A greenish bird appeared, and it started flying along with Yusei, while a hologram disappeared behind it. (0/900)“Your tactics are still the same!” Jack yelled at Yusei. He drew a card, and both players gained a second Speed Counter. “Unfortunately for you, the King is always a step ahead!”“We’ll see about that!” Yusei answered as they went to the first curve of the battle.Jack placed a card on the Duel Disk that was attached to his steer. “Come forth and do my bidding, Twin-Sword Marauder!”Two warrior equipped with two swords was already familiar to Saitu. (1600/1000)“Marauder, Attack his Shield Wing!” Jack commanded, and the swordfighter attacked the bird.“Trap Card Activate, Defense Draw!” Yusei declared, and the hologram of his face-down card reappeared. “The damage from one battle becomes zero, and I draw one card from my Deck!”He drew his card, while Jack already sent his Marauder to attack Shield Wing for a second time. This time, it managed to slash right through Shield Wing, who still remained unharmed. Yusei’s Life Points dropped to 7,300.“Even though your Monster remains unharmed, your Life Points have decreased! I set two cards and end my Turn!”Just like Yusei’s, Jack’s holograms were visible for only a few seconds. Another Speed Counter was added, and Yusei was about to make a serious move.“I’ll activate my Speed Spell-Angel Baton! When I have two or more Speed Counters, I can draw to cards, and then discard one card!” He drew two cards, and decided to discard his Quillbolt Hedgehog to the Graveyard. He took a long look at his new hand, and decided to set a Monster and a card. As both the Duelists went through another curve, Yusei ended his Turn, causing Jack to laugh in a self-secure way.“Do you honestly think defending will help you, Yusei?”“Actually, I think it might.”, Yusei replied as he accelerated a little bit more. “It might be the best option I have right now.“But keep in mind that the King will always be two steps ahead! Draw!” Jack drew another card, and immediately sent his Twin-Sword Marauder to attack Shield Wing.“Trap Card Activate!” his opponent anticipated. “Scrubbed Raid!”Yusei’s face-down monster, a large red ladybug with a level Star on its back, disappeared, and a barrier stopped Twin-Sword Marauder’s attack.“When I send a card I control to the Graveyard, the Battle Phase is ended!”“Very well, but as I warned you, I’m two steps ahead!” Jack replied, and placed a card on his Duel Disk. Yusei’s Continuous Trap Card was eaten by a large, purple-ish creature that came out of it. (1900/1600)“Trap Eater, huh? I knew I’d see him soon enough.” Yusei smiled. “So it’s coming, right?”“Indeed it is!” he answered, and took a card from a deck box on his belt. “The ruler’s heartbeat will now file through here! Take witness to its creation shaking power!”Jack’s Monsters disappeared, leaving only their level stars behind. The eight stars aligned, and a new monster formed around them.“Synchro Summon! My very soul, Red Demon’s Dragon!”The huge red Dragon roared and looked down upon Yusei, hovering in mid-air. (3000/2000)“YES!” the MC yelled through his microphone. “Former King Jack Atlus managed to get his ace monster out on the fourth turn already! Will he be able to reclaim his title?”“My Turn!” Yusei declared as he drew a card, which immediately gave him an idea.“Surprise me, Yusei! Entertain the true King!”“I will. And my Quickdraw Synchron will help me with that! By discarding Tuningware, he is Special Summoned to my side of the Field!”He placed Tuningware is the Graveyard Slot, and then made a cowboy-like creature appear. His armor was blue, his cape was red, and he wore a large brown hat with a single feather on it. He looked fairly impressive, despite the fact that his gun looked like a children’s toy. (700/1400)“Next, I Normal Summon Junk Synchron!”Just next to the first Synchron, a second one appeared. This guy looked more like an orange robot than his bigger counterpart, but right after it had emerged onto the field, Tuningware reappeared; a rather small creature with a long scarf. (1600/500) (100/300)“I see what you’re trying to do. But you won’t get far by trying to think another step ahead than I’m doing.”“But at least I can try, Jack. I’ll Special Summon Quillbolt Hedgehog from my Graveyard in attack mode, with its own effect!”The orange Quillbolt reappeared, filling the last place on Yusei’s field. (800/800)“Attack Mode?” Jack asked in a serious tone. “Even if you can Summon Stardust Dragon, my Red Demon will still be stronger!”“But I’m not going to Summon Stardust yet, Jack! I’m tuning my Shield Wing to my Junk Synchron to Summon Junk Warrior!”The orange robot sprang up, and then its level stars aligned with those of Shield Wing. The five stars formed a new monster; a futuristic looking blue robot that looked as if it could’ve been Junk Synchron’s bigger brother. (2300/1300) As soon as it appeared, Tuningware and Quillbolt Hedgehog began to glow, and their attack points were added to those of Junk Warrior. (ATK: 3200) It immediately took out Jack’s Dragon, which decreased his Life Points to 7,800. Yusei’s other Monsters lowered Jack’s Life Points even further, to 6,200.Due to the shock, Jack was forced to slow down, allowing Yusei to pass him.“I set one more card, and end my Turn! Still think you can win this?”“Of course I can! The King will reign once again! Draw!”Jack looked at his card, and then set a single card in one of his Spell and Trap Card Zones. He ended his Turn, and Yusei started his by drawing a card, and gaining a seventh Speed Counter.“It’s all over, Jack! I’m going to Tune my Tuningware to my Quickdraw Synchron and Synchro Summon Turbo Warrior!”Once again, two monsters jumped into the air and fused to become a new Monster, this time a large red creature that seemed to be composed of several red truck parts. (2500/1500) Yusei Drew one card due to Tuningware’s Effect, but it didn’t seem as if he were ready for his Battle Phase yet.“I Normal Summon Debris Dragon from my hand, allowing me to Special Summon Shield wing from my Graveyard!”A small white Dragon appeared, and only a few seconds after that, the greenish bird arose again. (1000/2000) (0/900)“Alright!” the MC declared. “Now the Indomitable Junk Rider Yusei seems to be ready to Synchro Summon his Absolute Ace!”“Clustering hopes will become a new shining Star! Become the light its paths shines upon! Synchro Summon! Stardust Dragon!” The three smaller monsters emerged together to form a gigantic white Dragon, which wouldn’t stay on the Field for long. (2500/2100)“I now activate a Trap, Assault Mode Activate! And I’m pretty sure you know what it does!”“I do.” Jack said. “It was I who learned you that strategy, remember?”An even mightier Dragon took Stardust’s place. It let out a loud roar as almost everyone in the stadium cheered. (3000/2500)“Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode, destroy Jack’s Life Points!”Jack looked over his shoulder as Yusei’s Dragon was about to destroy him. This couldn’t be happening. He should be the King again. He couldn’t let Yusei win, and he’d have to go all-out to prevent that from happening...
These two Dragons have a lot in common. They’re both level eight Synchro Monsters that debuted in Duelist Genesis and the Collector Tins. So far, they’re the only two Signer Dragons to have an Assault and Savior form. Even though Stardust Dragon is more popular due to its effect, a good Duelist may be able to destroy the opponent completely with Red Demon’s higher attack power. RyanAtlus

“This is truely incredible!” the MC announced. “Yusei Fudo has Summoned a few of his best monsters and has wiped out Jack’s Red Demon! Our challenger only has three face-down cards that should be able to help him!”“Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode, destroy Jack’s Life Points!”“Not so fast, Yusei! I activate my Trap Card!”One of Jack’s holograms reappeared. Several chains came out of nowhere, and stopped Stardust from attacking.“Shadow Spell will stop your Monster from attacking, and will decrease that Monster’s attack by seven hundred points for the rest of the Duel!”“By sending Stardust to the Graveyard, I negate the activation of your Trap card and destroy it!”The dragon disappeared, causing the dark chains to be left behind somewhere on the road, only to shatter a few seconds later.“Junk Warrior, attack his Life Points directly!”The blue robot dashed forth, but just as he was about to hit Jack, a small fiendish creature appeared. (0/0)“When a direct attack is declared, Battle Fader is Special Summoned from my hand. It negates the attack and ends the Battle Phase!”“What a move from the former King!” the enthousiastic voice boomed through the stadium once more. “The continuous Trap Card Shadow Spell was a manouvre to get rid of Stardust Dragon for one turn, so that Battlefader’s effect could be activated! Is Jack on his way to becoming a new King?”Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode reappeared, announcing the end of Yusei’s Turn.Yusei accelerated in order to drive next to Jack again. “Give me all you’ve got.”“I will. My Turn!” Eight Speed Counters. That would open new possibilities.“I activate my face-down Speed Spell - Overboost!” he declared as the second of his face-down cards appeared. “This card will increase my Speed Spells to 12, but they will drop to 1 at the end of this Turn!”“Looks like you’ve been thinking ahead, Jack, and it’s starting to pay of. I’m forced to negate this Spell, because otherwise you could destroy my Dragon through Speed World 2’s effect.”Stardust Dragon disappeared once more, but Jack’s card was destroyed in exchange.“Yusei! You’ve run into my Trap!” Jack laughed. “This Duel will end this Turn! Reveal, Call of the Haunted!”The last face-down card was revealed, and with it, Red Demon’s Dragon was reborn, just as triumphant as ever. (3000/2500)“I don’t believe it’s already over, Jack. You’ve only got two cards in your hand left, and Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode will come back at the end of this turn.”“I believe otherwise! I Summon Majestic Dragon!”A small pink Dragon arose right in front of the large red one. (0/0)“I Tune my Red Demon and my battle Fader to Majestic Dragon, to form the force of absolute power!”All of Jack’s Monsters aligned, and after all ten of their level stars had merged together, a new Dragon was born. It was way bigger than the Assault Mode Dragon that had just left the field, and it didn’t even need to roar to be impressive. (4000/3000)“Majestic Red Dragon will increase its attack by the attack of Junk Warrior, so it goes up to 7,300!”The Dragon became even larger, and Junk Warrior seemed to shrink as its attack points dropped down to 2,300.“What happened?” Yusei exclaimed.“It’s very simple. By absorbing a Monsters’ attack, Majestic Red Dragon also negates the Monster’s effect.”“But it’s still not strong enough. If you attack Junk Warrior, the damage will be 5,000. Majestic Monsters return to the Extra Deck at the end of the turn they are Summoned.”“That’s where my last card kicks in! Speed Spell-Final Attack! When I have eight or more Speed Counters, it doubles the attack of a monster, and destroys it during the end Phase!”Jack’s Dragon now filled almost the entire stadium, with an attack power of 14,600. Both the Duelists slowed down, and Jack finally declared his last attack, inflicting more than 10,000 points of damage!“Impressive! Absolutely wonderfully impressive! Everybody applauded for the renewed King, JACK ATLUS!” *** “Well, it looks like things are the way they were meant to be again.” Ludwig said as they left the small cinema room.“What do you mean by that, sir?” Saitu asked him. Arceus had to laugh at this question.“Tell them instead of laughing, you fool. He is not to blame for his own ignorance.”Arceus serious’d, and then shortly explained the situation. “Sir von Tönisteiner used to be the King of Turbo Duels before he started ruling over Insopia. Due to a lack of time, he had to give up on riding Duels. It was he who first hinted that Jack Atlus would be the following King.”“But don’t be mistaken.” Ludwig continued the story. “After I regained my title of World Champion, I will be the King once again...” Later that day, Ann was having a look at her Deck for the umpteenth time, not really knowing how to fix it. There was no way something like a Nurse Deck could win against some of the moves pros like Jack Atlus and Yusei Fudo could pull of. She threw the Deck box aside, and took the golden key from the small cupboard next to her bed. It was time for something new, she thought as she walked through the corridors of what seemed to be a huge castle. Time for something innovative, something that could overwhelm Chaos...At last, she had found the library-like room again, filled with cupboards, each filled with finely decorated wooden boxes, each of them with golden letters on them, describing what was inside of them. She looked at the names of all the possible Deck ideas. It seemed as if there were thousands of perfect Decks in this room, but each of them a little bit weaker than the almighty Deck Ludwig wielded himself. She searched and searched, not knowing how long she was in that room, only to find that nothing would really suit her well. After a time, however, she discovered a box greatly resembling the Gold Sarcophagus, a little bit smaller than all the other boxes. On the box, there was only a single word.Unique.Unique cards? She decided to give it a look, and immediately knew what she’d have to do. Ann started rummaging through loads of single cards, all nicely sorted by name, and eventually opened one of the many packs of sleeves that simply lay there. This would have to do, for it was all she could try to...
Even though Majestic Red Dragon is almost impossible to Summon, it’s almost always the last card that hits the field when it does.
