The Warden
It isn't as hard as you think, humans usually over-think stuff, causing them to believe it is harder than it really is.
iCherry
What? Putting them together? Or editing?
The Warden
Both, it is rather easy actually.
iCherry
Of course putting them together is easy. Just Copy/Paste and then take out the Chapter Titles for 2 and 3. Editing, maybe. Depending on if I want to think to fix anything.

Nexev
Nex' date=' that's essentially what a Spell Card is though. A spell inside a contained medium to be used by the user at a time of their choosing. Your idea is creative, but why would Skul use gels when he could use actual cards and amplify those to even greater effect? The second idea is good though, since he can use his vampiric traits to mess with the opponent's blood, meddling with their magics is a good idea. Also, I forgot about that scenario. Remind me of what it was again, Skul. @Lar: xD That pic is epic.[/quote'] I was genuinely worried about that but thought the cards matched up too well with the characters power. OR at least it looked that way. So i thought the spell card was a lens of sorts that allows one to channel thier power and condense it into a powerful attack. I don't know exactly why I thought this, probbaly because they seemed common but still individually unique. Thus the gel idea allows one to use a spell they couldn't normally cast. But that idea doesn't work since it's what a spell card is for. So if I make a magical artifact of sorts, would that make it technically a card? Just wondering. DL
No. I pretty much gave up on it. I was making too many mistakes and didn't feel like making up for them. Every time I read over my work a second time' date=' it always looks damn awful really.[/quote'] o_O Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa- I liked the fanfic! Sure, there were slight mistakes, but only professionals are perfect. Heck, I've been through a creative writing class, and even I make mistakes... So all that editing was for naught? *cries* Well, if you ever start it again, I can be co-writer, since I'm not as busy with fanfics as I used to be. The Warden
Writing only comes naturally, sure classes can help define your ability, but you just need experience damnit.
DL
Actually, not even professionals are perfect. That's why the job of editor exists. They look for any mistakes. As for experience, that much is true. Being born with talent for writing sure helps, but it's not that hard to write well. Experience is the greatest factor, as is having stories you write critiqued, so you can find out what you have to improve in your writing.

Skuldur
@Zex: I thought I would ask him to have us do a duo battle. Where we would unlease our true powers. Cool' date=' no agruements here, in fact if I ever finish planning the prolouge we do the same thing against Zaraki pm the idea to Zex.[/quote'] Here's the idea. Zexaeon
Ah, duly noted. @Nex: Well, yes, a Spell Card is basically a spell that the individual holding it is capable of creating. Thus, many Spell Cards do in fact tend to be unique to the individual, either by their type, their execution, or both. Even two Light-users could have a completely different variant of what is essentially the same spell. However, to say that one cannot use a Spell outside of what pertains to their abilities is inaccurate. Most people in the Card Maker Kingdom are skilled magicians (at least in theory, as they passed the test to be accepted as citizens), and so have mastered the rudimentary skills of various different magics. So even someone who does not Specialize in Light-based magics could still probably muster up a Basic Photon spell. It’s just that exceptionally powerful magicians (such as the ones that have all been seen so far in the fic) tend to prefer using spells that they are more familiar with, and that are more unique to them. This is because it gives them a bigger edge in combat when the opponent hasn’t seen what they’ve got, and also because they can fight more effectively with the things they are most familiar with. However, there are also examples of Exclusive Spells that can literally only be casted by the individual who made it. These spells are always made from the unique power of their maker. An example would be The Swordsman’s Dome of Black – it was a spell crafted from his power, a power no one else in the Kingdom Possesses (at the moment, at least), and thus no one else could have made it. You might be thinking “Now Zex, Mr. Sword’s power was to remove sound from anything of his choosing, not sight.” But that is another unique point about Spell Cards that must be addressed; what makes them so useful is that by crafting a Spell into a card, one can use their Power’s as a base, and then modify it with natural magics. So in this example, The Swordsman started by crafting a blank Spell Card, a simple task anyone can do. He then cast the Magical Gateway spell on it, another thing that anyone can do, which is necessary to open the card up so that it can receive a spell. Next, he transferred some of his unique, sound-stealing ability into the spell, and then closed the Magical Gateway. Working fast, the next step is to craft another blank card, and cast the Gateway spell on it. Now, the Swordsman transfers some Optical Magic into it (this would require he has some experience in that field of magic), along with some Trasmuting Magic (rudimentary understanding of this magic should be all that’s necessary), and closes the Gateway. Now, he crafts one more Blank Card, casts Gateway, and now casts Spell Fusion – this makes the card absorb two or more other cards and fuse them together. So he takes his first two cards and fuses them into the Blank Card. Now the fusion process begins, which he must carefully monitor if he wants it to turn out a specific way. Once the fusion is complete, he has a new Spell Card, which he can tell (by reading its magic signature only he, as its creator, can read) has transformed his sound-sealing into a sight-sealing spell. Satisfied with the result, he now casts Spell Seal, which locks the card from any future modification (this step is very important and must always be done after creating a spell card, because if it isn’t, you may accidentally modify it without realizing it, or can end up misfiring it). A card that has been Spell Sealed, incidentally, cannot be modified any further, cannot be unsealed, and cannot be used in fusion. So once you have sealed the card, that’s it, it’s a finished product. … My answer turned into a huge explanation on the mechanics behind Spell Cards. Well, anyway, to get back on track… ahem. Yes. For the most part, Spell Cards will be unique to the individual’s abilities and style, but they don’t have to be. If the user knows a variety of different magics, or even basic understanding of different magics, they can craft a different kind of spell. And frankly, it’s wise for an individual to teach themselves at least three different types of magic in-depth, so that they have a variety of options when making Spell Cards. Just knowing the basics of everything and not specializing in any specific field won’t cut it.

Marisa Kirisame-ze
Zeonark, I have a long lasting grudge on School Days. Your signature and avatar makes me cringe. Kotonoha scared me the most, when Makoto went for Sekai for that long period of time, and she pretended to talk to Makoto on the phone. *shiver* And writing is a great way to pass time. And I did a Touhou fanfic before. Posted it on my DeviantART. But since I don't like it... I'm in the middle of taking it down or not.
