Guest Welche
Where you live, you may not celebrate Remembrance Day today, but in Canada we do. So just pretend your celebrating it today. Listen to this while you read. So the day has come. The eleventh of november. Today we honor the loss of so many men and women who left their homes to fight for what they believed in. To fight for what they though was right. To fight for freedom. Both sides of the war should honor this day equally because it marked the end of the Great War, or World War I. They left, not knowing how much death would await them. We must honor this day, for if they had not left the world be very much different. The Americans on this site have made friends with the Japanese, but if the war had gone the other way, would YCM even be here? Would you be reading this right now? Would you be siting were you are? Probably not. You may not even have ended up in the same country. Would internet even exist? I doubt it. If the war had gone the other way to the Nazis, we would not have been as free as every man and women is today. Nobodies life would be the same. I might have met more of you YCMers in real life, or maybe I wouldn't exist. For these reasons and many more, we must honor the brave men and women who gave their lives to shape the world the way it is. Give your two minutes at 11 AM today. Its just to minutes. They gave their lives. Rest In Peace.

Altαir
I celebrated it here. (12:00 now, around) I find two minutes to be so paltry compared to what they have done for our country.

Muluck
There are several songs that set into rememberance of what we call Veterans day, but the best in my true opinion are the ones that wee made after 9/11 or, 11/9 for those non-Americans. One of those songsOne of the most emotionally sung songs

~ P O L A R I S ~
Here's my opinion. Remembrance Day and the like are part of a long line of sickening traditions. Why should we only remember the sacrifices of our country's soldiers and not the opponent's? What makes our country's soldiers so much better than the EVIL EVIL EVIL AXIS SOLDIERS? Everyone's just taking orders from materialistic sorcerers of destruction and hatred. "The allies" were behind Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Remembrance Day and the like are a crime against hopes of global peace. Same with Independence Days, national anthems, borders, and any form of patriotism to one's own country. What happened to "one world united"? What happened to worldwide co-operation? Why are we to remember the acts of fools taking orders they don't know the motives behind to either kill or be killed? Remembrance Day and the like are fuels for prejudice and hatred.
