I've actually seen for a while that 99.999% of monsters made are all effects, and barely any Vanilla cards (Normal Type Monsters).

 

So, although this card probably sucks or whatever, I've decided to make this card to help out the Vanilla lovers and Vanilla monsters in the long run :)

Effect: "Pay 800 Life Points to play this card. During each of your Standby Phase, pay 300 Life Points to keep this card in play, otherwise, it is destroyed. When this card is played, all Ritual, Fusion, and Effect monsters on the field are destroyed. As long as this card is on the field, both players can only Normal Summon, Special Summon, or Set Normal monsters on the field."

Yeah I know. But that's actually the point. Since almost every Deck has alot of effect monsters, barely anyone will have this card in their Decks (Since it will kill their own Decks). And if a Deck does have this card, it must have little or no effect monsters at all, meaning all monsters are vulnerable until the player draws out the card. Plus with offering the Life Points its pretty worth it. Plus I guess it should be infinite then.

 

But then again I'm just babbling. This card is probably OPed but again, since 99% of decks are loaded with effect cards, barely anyone will have this card.

OCG fix:

 

"Activate this card by paying 800 Life Points. Pay 300 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you do not, this card is destroyed. When this card is activated, destroy all face-up Ritual, Fusion, and Effect monsters. Neither player can Normal Summon, Flip Summon, or Special Summon monsters, except Normal Monsters."

 

Much better.

I can understand why you guys hate or don't like vanilla cards, but I mean come on. Let's put on another perspective. Their pretty underrated to the point where its just criminal. And I mean I love effect cards, but seeing way too much orange can be annoying (If you know what I mean ;))

 

Plus as you both said, many decks have effects, which is PRECISELY the reason why most people won't even consider having this card in their decks, considering it will do more harm then good.

 

Plus if a person were to have a card and make a full vanilla deck, their 100% vulnerable to lose unless they draw this card, which is slim to one. Not to mention losing life points to keep this.

 

And Vanilla monsters don't have anything to draw back on. Isn't it about time they have at least 1 thing that's going for them. hehe.

 

And don't worry. You still have magic and trap cards so its not a total loss ;)

Actually, there is quite a bit of vannilla support out there. Do you have Stardust Accelerator and a lot of cards on it. If so, you just go to Spells/Traps on deck construction and then on effects choose normal and it will come up with quite a few support cards for vannillas.

What if you throw decree in? then we only have spells.

Well that is true. But then again, this card isn't invincible. I thought it would be a tad overpowered, so I didn't make it like it won't be destroyed. A trap or magic card can simply destroy it.

 

But now that you mention it, it is a tad overpowered. I could change the 800 Life point offer to 2000 and the 300 each SP to 500. I guess that way it can balance it out.

 

But yeah, lets just say that its a way to make vanilla supporters happy :)

i think the fix made it a little worse actually

maybe make it so instead of completely getting rid of effect/ritual/fusion monsters you can make it so there's a fine to use them

like;Pay 800 Life Points to activate this card. When this card is activated all face-up Effect, Fusion, Ritual or Synchro monsters on the Field are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. Pay 800 Life Points during each of your End Phases, if you do not this card is destroyed. Both player's must pay 500 Life Points to Summon Effect, Fusion, Ritual or Synchro monsters or activate the effects of monster cards.

It's very overpowered at the moment. Rather than forbid summoning altogether, let's limit it.

 

Players must remove from play a cards from their Graveyard equal to the number of non-Normal monsters they control to Normal Summon a non-Normal monster. Players must discard 1 card to Special Summon a non-Normal monster.

 

First part is safe from macro cosmos because all normal monster beatdowns (and gemini decks) cannot function with no graveyard fuel. Not quite sure it's balanced, but I think this version is okay.

Actually, I would use this card even if I didn't run vanillas. Just for the non-Summon or Set effect. Burn Decks are comming back xD and Gemeni monsters will still be reborn.

 

OCG is off but it was already corrected above. Yes it is highly overpowered. I like vanillas but I would rather distribute the support into a handful of cards instead of making 1 single victory card.
