I usually don't mind spells, but I've lost count of how many times I've lost due to my opponent laying out enough traps to send my entire field to the graveyard, twice.

Usually when I play I try to avoid traps and keep my opponent's field wide open.

Try a Skill Drain deck. It's anti-meta, and fairly cheap depending on which cards you use. Skill Drain decks run monsters who had severe drawbacks, like goblin attack force or fusilier dragon, and Skill Drain removes their effects on the field along with the opponent's monster effects.

If it's traps you don't like, try running stuff like Jinzo, trap stun, and other things like that

If it's traps you don't like, try running stuff like Jinzo, trap stun, and other things like that

 

 

sounds smart. You can also try ancient gears. they stop the opponents spell trap usage during the battle phase, which is probably when your getting owned by traps.

 

or you could just pick a meta deck and win pretty quickly...

 

If you really want just a dark deck then, again, go look on yu gi oh wikia for what you like.

Any deck with 5+ DARK monsters has DAD. No exceptions.

Any deck with 5+ DARK monsters has DAD. No exceptions.
