I highly agree with this. However, people still think they can resist and it will change because of them (like the RP clauses as an example), many people were against it and even were calling everyone that did follow the rules elitists. It has to end one way or another.

Well, in order to take this thread seriously I would need to delude myself into believing this is not an attention-seeking thread due to the fact that Icy had alot of work to do for YCM.

 

In order to relate this thread to something else for myself, I will imagine a large project at school that is worth 50% of my grade. I will imagine that I was absent at the time it was assigned. I will imagine that I come back to school, finding out I have to do it and none of my assigned partners helped me so I do it all by myself. I will imagine that everyone in my group was incompetent due to the fact that someone decided that they were not going to help, thus everyone went into a crazy panic and did not do anything.

 

There fore I will get on the loudspeaker and complain that everyone else is an idiot for panicking, and that I have a life and I am going to take a break from school for a few days. I will also imagine that there is a guidance counselor next door to the loudspeaker microphone that would help me sort out my problems without disrupting everyone else. I will also imagine that I do not have to talk to said counselor and that everyone must know of my problems. EVERYONE!

 

That is generally what I understand of this predicament in terms that my stupidity can understand. Therefore I refuse to take this thread seriously.

I understand the Freeport doctrine, a rule is only as powerful as the people's will to obey it. But then we come to something else entirely, that rules exist to keep order, and the continuous allowance of behavior that violates the rules cannot be tolerated. I am willing to give people a second chance, to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but when those people consistently flaunt their disobedience, it is time to fully bring forth the consequences that have thus been held back.

The arguement about taking a site seriously is ridiculous. It's as if you say, we are a company for candy, and we have staff issues, but because we sell candy, the issues don't matter.

Except a candy company collects revenue and likewise SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. This is a forum devoted to a game that isn't nearly as popular anymore inhabited by people who aren't making money off being a member. Thus, it's not to be taken as seriously as a candy company.

 

Also, the people who enjoy doing things other than babbling on inane topics AREN'T in danger because of the people who DO enjoy babbling about inane topics.

We get a mod team who's panicking because apparently Umbra decided to demote himself. When Umbra has been gone quite some time anyway' date=' and I can always repromote him when needed. Without being on much anyway (direct ACP Access ftw).

I had to warn/ban a moderator who was properly unbanned by Crab Helmet (I overreacted but my point was still proven to this moderator). On my off time no less. Despite both our points being proven adequately, it was still out of line the same.

 

Yeah banning a bunch of people, warning a few and not doing anything to the others who did the same thing, just further proves that you are a bad mod and are not doing your job correctly. Crab Helmet did the best thing and he's usually the one to be harsh
