WC or Tag Force?

Recommended Posts

Turbo Duels are crap. The added Mario Kart feature is also crap.

The Wc games usualy have a larger/more recent card pool, but with a decent competition.

The Tag Force games have retardidily stupid AIs, which makes them easeir then the Wc games.

Tag Force also has anime-only cards.

For casual, go for Tag Force.

For competetive online play, go with World Champ.

I've actually had a bit of time to spend with both...

Firstly with TF4, something about the inability to check what everyone else is running really irked me about the PSP. Like, if I duel Gladiator Beast Gyzarus on WC, I have some hint as to what kind of deck I'll be facing. But if I wanted to duel a Gladiator Beast deck in TF, remembering the guy who ran Gladiator Beasts in Tag Force was a ridiculously huge chore, since the only thing I remembered about him was that he was a Sector Security guard, and there were about 6 of them, and all of them named their deck as "[Person's Name] [Number]".

Secondly, the only way to progress in TF4's storyline is with an abysmal "relationship" system. And that ends up being a bigger portion of the game then it should be. There's the mini games when you talk to them. There are 3 of them. One is general card knowledge (What's this card's name? What's this card's card type, spell, trap, monster? How much attack does this one have? Etc etc). One is a rock-paper-scissors kind of thing, except your opponent goes first... except it takes them a long time to go first, so you end up waiting about a minute or so. The last one is some... weird game I have difficulty describing.

The other way to increase other people's hearts is to give them items. Thing is, no one drops ANY hints of which items they like. I mean, sure somethings are obvious. Stardust figure goes to Yusei. Red Dragon figure goes to Jack. Then there's the weirder items you get (by paying 200 DP at some Casino kind of machine and getting one at random BTW), and I found a disturbingly large amount of males who wanted my Leather Boots. Also, good luck getting those Stardust and Red Dragon figurines, because they're really really rare. You'll be get a ****load of Card Protectors and [Adjective] Deck Cases from the random Casino Machine.

But then, and here's the kicker, the only reason you're trying to increase these guys moods, is to get them to become your partner and then go in a tag duel with them, and your partner's AI is, of course, ****ing awful. Not to mention how many of them run god awful decks. I have no clue how I got through anything with Carly maining 12x Fortune Fairies. (That's Fortune FAIRIES, not Fortune LADIES. The 0 Attack and Defense Vanillas.) Sure, you get to edit their deck at some point in time, but they only do it when they're at a higher "heart" level.

In short, TF4 can be summarized as follows: The only way to progess (IE, unlock more booster packs and get better cards) is to play a painful series of unpleasent and boring minigames, and afterwards your only reward as you progress is the ability to Tag duel with a maddeningly awful partner.

I mean, yeah WC'09 had it's share of godawful minigames and terrible sections (Stealth Section. Race against Trudge. Stealth Section. Riding Duels. Stealth Section. Did I mention the REALLY awful Stealth Section!?) but they were only mild diversions from the core of the game, not 50 percent of it.

Ultimately, I'll go with WC on this one.

WC because it is' date=' from what I've seen, much better in just about all aspects [s']and I can't find a PSP emulator[/s] and Tag Force is further from the TCG because of crazy anime cards.

Now that's just rather untrue. Tag Force, with a large card pool (of actual TCG cards, and a few anime cards) is much closer to the actual TCG then is WC, with it's frequently small card pool.

Tag Force sucks because, as the title implies, the only way to progress in the game is to Tag Duel.

If you need to know an example of what it's like but lack a PSP, replay The World of Chaos in WC'08's story mode. (I think that's the one...)

l have both.

And l like both. Actually, th AI on tf4 has vastly improved. But they are still retarded.

(I lost a duel due to akiza activating torrential. l had a field fill of syncs set up for her to win. Ok, so she didn't sweep. But then the opponent summons krebons. l'm like, 'oh we about to win...' She torrentials. l facepalm at least 5 times, throw my face into my pillow, and l scream and cry in utter frustration. We lose.)

Tag Force

Turbo duels are just tiresome and a pretty stupid idea, Tag Force has a bigger card selection and it is pretty fun to use the Dark Synchros although i suck at using them

although WC does have it's strong points here and there, i think Tag Force is the superior game in the end

right

the playstation 3 have recently been given and app that alows you to play adhoc only games as infrastructure' date=' meaning!!

that tagforce 4 can be played online against other people

[/quote']

*facepalm*

I could have had this new feature a month ago. Oh well, on to downloading it.

OT: WC was only better that TF because of the online connections. Now that TF has that too, TF is now better than WC in almost every way imaginable.

But it requires you to also have a PS3 in order to... actually have this feature. <_<

Except for the part in Tag Force where the developers of the game think it's cool to follow the title, and Force you to Tag in order to proceed with the story and get everything you need. And the only way to tag is with a poorly designed "dating sim"-esque system of favours in which you hand your participants a series of "gifts" to get them to "partner" with you.

wc is so better cause when you duel its easy to see the cards and tf is just tag duels

I going to have to disagree. You can see the cards easier with TF than with WC, because graphics are simply better on a PSP then on a DS. TF deck editing system is also way better than WC; you can search out key words, the layout is easier to understand, and you can tab key cards that you normally use so that you don't have to research for them. Although you have to go through the story line through tag duels, you don't only have to tag duel.

I will admit TF4 is annoying, especially in the beginning where they start you off with that piece of S*** they call a deck, and force you to duel 300+ times in order to get the deck you had on TF3. And the loading time can be ALOT faster. But when it comes to actually dueling, TF outclasses WC.
