War of Rifts - (Lumiere and Feuer Clans Unite!...maybe.)

Lord Smeagle

This heralds the beginning of my new set, revolving around four semi-interlocking archetypes. The archetypes are all Warriors, either FIRE, WATER, LIGHT or DARK, representing separate warrior clans. They are frequently at odds with one another, but are willing to form quick alliances and break them just as fast. Each sub-archetype has its own specialties, but is also capable of combining with any of the other three, so you could run a deck with just 1, 2, 3, or all 4 of the Clans!
New - Forging a Fragile Alliance ']

Against the rising threat of the increasingly aggressive Clan Oscuro, Clans Feuer and Lumiere consider a proposition; a joint-preemptive strike with both of their forces.

The Lumiere Clan general arrives at the meeting-place...

"Where are the other Lumiere forces? They should have arrived three days ago..."

The Feuer Clan soldiers draw their swords. "They did," replied the Feuer general. "We took care of them." The Lumiere general drew a steel-bladed fan from nowhere and swung...

Select 1 Warrior-Type monster you control and declare its Attribute. Special Summon 1 Warrior-Type monster from your Deck with a different Attribute than the selected monster. During your End Phase, if you control more monsters of the declared Attribute than monsters of the summoned monster's Attribute, destroy this card and control of the monster Special Summoned by this card's effect switches to your opponent.
186078zm.jpg

When a Warrior-Type monster is destroyed by battle, place a Legacy Counter on it while it is in the Graveyard. If you control a monster with the same name as a monster with a Legacy Counter, it gains 500 ATK. When a Warrior-Type monster destroys a monster as a result of battle, place 1 Glory Counter on it. Monsters gain 200 ATK for each Glory Counter on them during their controller's Battle Phase only. If you control only 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster and it has a Glory Counter, it can attack twice in the same turn. WATER Warrior-Type monsters with Glory Counters cannot be destroyed by battle once per turn. When a LIGHT Warrior-Type monster with a Glory Counter destroys a monster by battle, you can remove all Glory Counters from it to draw 1 card. You can Tribute 1 DARK Warrior-Type monster with a Glory Counter on it from play to Special Summon 1 DARK monster with a Legacy Counter on it from the Graveyard.

1 Warrior-Type Tuner + one or more non-Tuner monsters

This card's Attribute becomes the Attribute of the Tuner monster used in its Synchro Summon. When this card is Synchro Summoned, place "Glory Counters" on it equal to the number of monsters used for its Synchro Summoned. Once per turn, you can move 1 "Glory Counter" from this card to another monster you control.

186078u.jpg

Activate only by selecting 1 "Clan Lord" monster you control. Apply the appropriate effect based on the monster selected.

"Feuer Clan Lord, Reinhardt": Return all other cards you control to your hand. If the selected monster is targeted by an effect this turn, discard a Warrior-Type monster from your hand to negate the effect and destroy the card.

"Lumiere Clan Lord, Elline": Draw 3 cards. If there is a LIGHT-Warrior type monster among them, Special Summon it. Add 1 of the cards to your hand and remove the other from play.

"Acqua Clan Lord, Revielle": Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the combined Level Stars of WATER monsters you control. If the damage inflicted is over 2000, you can Special Summon 1 Warrior-Type monster from your Graveyard in Defense Position.

"Oscuro Clan Lord, Daichon": Destroy the selected monster and 3 cards on the field.

Select 1 Warrior-Type monster you control. Special Summon 1 monster of the same Attribute as the selected monster with a "Legacy Counter" on it from your Graveyard. When either the selected monster or this card are removed from the field, destroy the Special Summoned monster.
Clan Feuer ']

The Feuer Clan of the North is known for powerful weapons and reckless tactics. Their soldiers are rampant glory-seekers who do not play well with others. The frigid temperatures only serve to light their inner fire.

Their leader, Lord Reinhardt, is a man whose skill with a blade is matched only by his ludicrous boasts. But his genuine accomplishments and suicidal tactics earn him the grudging respect - and abject fear - of his enemies.

Many of their effects can only be used when you only control a single monster.

186078o.jpg

You can only control 1 "Feuer Clan Lord, Reinhardt." When this card destroys a monster while you control no other monsters, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your hand. FIRE Warrior-Type monsters in your hand have their Level decreased by 1. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can select 1 FIRE-Warrior Type monster in your Deck and turn it face up. That card's name is treated as "Feuer Clan Lord, Reinhardt" as long as this card remains in the Graveyard. When that card is in your hand, Special Summon it.
Clan Acqua ']

Clan Acqua dwells in the southern seas, and sees little reason to expand its boundaries beyond the ample resources that their territories provide. Their warriors are known for their strange tactics and inexplicable, occasional ability to recover from normally fatal blows.

Lady Reville's truly bizzare combat style is famous both for its actual effectiveness and its ability to confuse and demoralize enemies.

They are meant to be played defensively.

This card cannot declare an attack. During your opponent's Main Phase 1, you can select a monster your opponent controls. That monster must attack this card this turn. When this card inflicts Battle Damage, you can destroy 1 monster on the field with lower DEF than the Battle Damage inflicted. When this card is destroyed by battle, select 3 Level 5 or lower WATER Warrior-Type monsters with different names in your deck. Your opponent selects one at random. Special Summon that card. Its name is treated as "Acqua Clan Lord, Reveille" while this card is in the Graveyard.

186078r.jpg

While this card is in face-up Defense Position during your Battle Phase, you can select one Warrior-Type monster on the field and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its Level x100. You can remove this card in your Graveyard from play to increase the ATK and DEF of a WATER Warrior-Type monster you control by 800 points until the End Phase.

186078w.jpg

This card can attack your opponent's Life Points directly. When it does so, select a Warrior-Type monster you control. This card's ATK becomes half the selected card's ATK, until your next Standby Phase. If this card is destroyed. If you control 2 other Warrior-Type monsters during your End Phase, you can return this card on the field to your Deck to draw 1 card.
Clan Lumiere']

The wealth and benevolence of Clan Lumiere is dependent on the activities of their crusading soldiers. They are happy to spare their fallen foes, but for the treasure vaults, there is no mercy.

Lady Elline is a young and inexperienced leader, though she often displays wisdom beyond her years. Her strict code of ethics in battle and her deep compassion for her people makes her enemies question their own motives.

Clan Lumiere draws cards and gains life, but their stats are generally the lowest of the four clans.

186078.jpg

You can only control 1 "Lumiere Clan Lord, Elline." If you draw this card outside your Draw Phase and you do not control a "Clan Lord," Special Summon this card. When this card would destroy an Attack Position monster by battle, change it to Defense Position, place one Mercy Counter on it, and it is not destroyed. Monsters with Mercy Counters cannot attack. When this card is destroyed by battle, you can take control of 1 monster with a Mercy Counter your opponent controls. That card's name is treated as "Lumiere Clan Lord, Elline" as long as it remains face-up on the field.
In the deepest reaches of the Eastern Wastes lies the crumbling capital of Clan Oscuro. Once a magnificent empire, internal power struggles tore split the nation into disorganized factions, which were promptly obliterated or swallowed up by larger, more stable nations. Clan Oscuro is the last remnant of the glorious empire, which has fallen into ruin.

The infamous Daichon, lord of Clan Oscuro, has held his position for five hundred years. A powerful sorcerer in addition to his prowess in battle, he is determined to live forever, even if every one of his subjects must serve him in undeath to make that possible.

Clan Oscuro revolves around Special Summoning and removing monsters from the Graveyard.

186078m.jpg

You can only control 1 "Oscuro Clan Lord, Daichon." During your End Phase, you must remove a Warrior-Type monster you control from play or destroy this card. Once per turn, you can send a removed from play Warrior-Type monster to the Graveyard to destroy 1 Set card. When this card is destroyed by battle, tribute 1 monster you control to Special Summon 1 removed from play Warrior-Type monster to the field. That card's name is treated as "Oscuro Clan Lord, Daichon."

OCG looks good to me.

About the card. The idea of a single card running 2 different Types of Counters can get confusing when keeping count on them. Also, the rule of removing all Counters from a card when it leaves the field or is flipped face-down is broken with the mechanic of keeping the counter in the Graveyard.

Other than that, the rest of the effect looks good to me. Except the effect for LIGHTs is overpowered, as you can draw 2+ extra cards during each of the first 1 or 2 turns after activation. Concidering they already have +ATK from this same card and possibly from some of their own effects.

It would actually make your opponent think if they either want to get direct hits or let you draw..

Art is from Wanderley.

fix'd' date=' thx.[hr']

Eckerd is the first of my Clan Lords.

Clan Lords each have their own effect that supports their archetype, and a "Successor" effect. When they're destroyed by battle, you can select a monster in your Deck, and it's treated as the destroyed Clan Lord. When you get that monster to your hand, you can Normal Summon it without tribute.

The Feuer Clan's effects will revolve around "monster limitation," since they are highly competitive, with an emphasis on personal glory in battle. Their effects are powerful, but many of them can only be activated when you only control 1 monster.
