James Cameron's Avatar. Better fight scenes' date=' took much greater advantage of its potential, had a main character I don't want to bludgeon with a parking meter, and tied up loose ends much better. I've never seen anyone be so blatant about leaving viewers hanging just for the potential of a sequel as Nickelodeon was with A:TLA.

Also, James Cameron's Avatar had giant robots fighting hammerhead rhinos. I'll say it again: [b']Giant Robots Fighting Hammerhead Rhinos.[/b] Not even Zuko with twin Dao was that epic.

It also had a pathetically predictable plot, completely one-dimensional characters, and an anti-military, anti-big corporation, and pro-environment message that was more blatant than any other I've seen excluding "The Happening". Plus, it's not hard to tie up "loose ends" when you have 4 characters. I say characters instead of main characters, because calling the other people in this movie a supporting cast is kind of laughable.

And I'm not sure how else one would end ATLA. They set a specific goal at the beginning of the series, and accomplished it at the end. What more do you want?

A conclusion about the subplot involving Zuko's mom.

^ This.

Also, I'm perfectly aware of Avatar's weak plot; I just think the Hammerhead Rhinos make up for it, when combined with that one scene where Jake runs on top of the plane-copter thing and throws a grenade in the exhaust pipe.

I simply don't like the lack of realism of Avatar. No, I'm not speaking about the SF part.

And please don't call me biased but...if we would find an alien planet with very intelligent life...would we simply kill it to get some precious minerals?

Hell no! As much as you would hate any state, nobody would be retarded enough to do that. And don't take me with Aztec and Mayan and black slavery crap, I know I'm right.

Because humans haven't been going around killing each other for stuff since the dawn of time. This was a corporation, as long as it got the profit, they really didn't give a sheet.

And since (as rag has mentioned before) the expanded universe explains that unobtanium is a needed power source to keep earth from dying...

Yeah, I don't think they had much problem with the idea of killing off a village.

Avatar Movie; An amazing movie, special effects beyond your wildest dreams, a fantastic plot line and fits into every movie genre more or less. However, the crying was simply off putting and it is rediculous how they were being threatened to be sued because they were somehow 'disrespecting' Native American culture.

Avatar TV; Action packed, Watchable for a wide range of audiances, depending, has comic values and brings out an imaginative side of China that still shows their dominance and freedom. Oh, and just to tell you guys, DragonballZ is a Chinese anime, I think. ;D

To be honest, Avatar the movie gave me a great experience but I don't think I could face watching a whole saga of the movie personally, however, I could with the TV show.

So for me, it is Avatar, the Last Airbender.

The movie was just pure amazingness (Not even a real word???)

I hate the show. Just watch Naruto instead.

Naruto is terrible.

James Cameron's Avatar took 15 years to write people so it has a plot

For a regular movie' date=' it was already a pretty shitty plot. For a plot that has had 15 years to be developed, it was an inexcusably shitty plot.

Actually, it was written in 10 years, but made into a fim just 5 years later. But the plot is still shitty.

I think they're both stupid to be honest.

I'll just quote what someone said on another forum regarding James Cameron's Avatar and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

People are scared of anything complex' date=' becaue they fear if they understand or like anything complex, they'll open themelves to strange complex emotions and feel sad a lot. (Oh, boo-hoo, you cowardly pricks). So they like the polar opposite: simplicity. That's why Revenge of the Fallen did so well. What's even better to most people is simplicity that seems to have a deep and obvious meaning (but really doesn't(, because it makes the average dummy feel smart. That's why Avatar is making so much money. Same thing goes for the Spiderman films and Titanic.

Another contributor the film's income is that most theaters are playing it in 3D only. Tickets to 3D films cost more than regular films. Around my theater, 3 to 4 bucks more.[/quote']

I hope Michael Bay, Megan Fox, and Shia LeBeouf die horrible firey deaths.
