I made a deck based around him; I haven't tested it though. Seems like a fun card in a deck based around him and/or equip spells. Discuss. With UWS at 2, I think I will see more use of ben-kei in casual play. However, equips are generally way to slow for any competitive play, except maybe supervise with gigaplant otk's. DARKPLANT RISING Posted February 21, 2010 Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 In the case none of you know, Ben Kei is a once existing histrorical being. In Japan, once there were 2 armies of Samurai, the Heike and Genji. While the Genji Leader Yoritomo, with the help of his younger brother Yosistune, killed off the Heike, Ben Kei was a Samurai who worked beneath Yositsune. However, later on Yoritomo, seeing Yositsune as someone who may betray him, send spies across Japan to assassinate him. While Yositsune is running away from the spies, Ben Kei helpes Yositsune by fighting and using his wits to get him away. However, during one particular fight in which Yositsune was betrayed by someone he trusted, he was cornered. During this fight Ben Kei was shot by arrows all across his body, but it is said he didn't die until the battle ended. (Whether this is a real story or a myth based on his bulky body it is not known. ) Yositsune died during this battle, and so started the long reign of Yoritomo... The reason Ben Kei is armed so much is because of another story (this time true) that before he was recruited, he killed all Samurai in his way and stole their weapons. By the time he was hired by the Genji, he had more than 1000 weapons. Wait, 1000 Equip Spell Cards!? Anyways, this card is, easily said, something that can be fun to play. It's really fun, if I get a good enough hand at the start, I could easily win in that turn or the next few. Really fun card to play around with. I just remembered, I forgot to put UWS in the deck.
