[DISC] Magical Merchant

Recommended Posts

One of my friends runs Lightsworns as their main and needed something to replace 2 Lumina's. He wanted to run Archlord Kristya, but didn't have any of those, so that was out of question. Oddly enough, he came up with this.

So he dueled a couple of times and saw how it worked out.

Surprisingly, it did an amazing job.

It's Light by itself, it mills like a mad man and allows you to draw your Torrential, Mirror Force, Charge, Solar Recharge, Monster Reincarnations, Beckonings, etc..

What's not to love?

I run 1 of this in my DARK Deck' date=' but only plays it when a Dark Counterpart comes-why ruin a possible DAD?

[/quote']

Why?

Actually, this is probably lulzy in LS.

You can mill Wulfs and Necro Gardnas and rescue Recharge/Charge/Beckoning/Stuff.

It doesn't mill, so Wulf doesn't SS himself.

Anywhoo, I really want to try a Chimeratech Deck with this.

Wasn't there a Reasoning/Monster Gate ruling of some kind that says this counts as being sent directly from the deck to the Graveyard?

Uh, I don't recall one like that, though the card itself seems to deny that. They're picked up beforehand, neither in your hand or your deck, before being sent to the grave.

They count as being milled. Konami says so.

Reasoning/Gate are different. As Wulf cannot be Normal Summoned, Reasoning skips over it and thus SS's with its own effect after Reasoning resolves. also, the remaining cards for Magical Merchant are "sent" to the Graveyard. Thus would be counted as being milled.

That's…………that's just…:S

"Wulf, Lightsworn Beast"'s effect is a mandatory Trigger Effect (similar to "Sangan", etc.), which means it does not miss the timing, ever.

If you send Wulf from the Deck to the Graveyard with "Magical Merchant", "Reasoning", etc. -- first resolve the current effect/chain, and then Wulf is Special Summoned in Chain Link 1 of a new chain.

It makes perfect sense.

No, you missed it. The cards are picked up then sent to the Grave, not milled. Konami ruling that as milling is the silly part.

Konami says that "picked up and sent to the Graveyard" counts as being sent from the Deck - because there's no such thing as being sent from the "picked up"

It's not as though the idea is impossible. It's neither in the Deck or hand, so now it suddenly ceases to exist?

Also, lol, "Konami says"…

Actually, it IS in the Deck when it's picked up - in the same way that a monster that's been destroyed by battle is still on the field for a bit before being sent to the Graveyard.

You don't "pick up" a monster before sending it to the grave.
