Guest JoshIcy
... by someone whos company I enjoy very much. She has introduced me to many groups and bands that I've come to like. Including "The Birthday Massacre", "Coloris", some songs by "Pendulum" though not all as some will give me migraines. And a few others. So yeah... Work your magic, discuss it or whatever. For me this was a rather large turning point in what I can handle. Although I still can't handle "Hocico" since it'll make my ears feel like bleeding. Death Metal
I've never heard of any of these guys. I looked them up. Needless to say, it wasn't my cup of tea. But hey, if you like it. Explore it. I discover new bands by simply looking up a list of artists in a chosen genre and picking one. If I like it, I listen to more songs. Perhaps this could help you out when your trying to find those hidden gems. ;D Since we are talking about 'turning points'.....My biggest turning point was discovering Black Metal. I was raised on Thrash and Death, which is what my father listened to, but as I grew up my taste in metal budded out and I discovered a nice band name 'Immortal'. I was hooked ever since. CinnamonStar
Is that person called Beth?=O I have a lot of recommandable stuff like The Birthday Massacre if you want.=]But I like liek...one song by Pendulum. Well the biggest turning point was when I really discovered Electronic music, I mean not just listening into 2 songs but really getting into it. My teens were mostly Gothic/Symphonic/Melodeath Metal so everyone I knew told me that "electronica is the annoying generic talentless unz-unz stuff you hear in every disco". But it's just wrong. So I realized that Darkwave, Industrial, EBM and mostly Symphonic Electronica can be much more original than much of the Gothic Metal stuff I listened to (even though I still love listening to some bands). But I prefer Electronica with violins.
