Satellite Cannon Support

Recommended Posts

Name: Zeus Particle Cannon

LIGHT/Machine/Synchro

Level 10

ATK: 1000

DEF: 3500

Synchro Material:

1 LIGHT Tuner + Satellite Cannon + 1 or more non-Tuner Machine-Type monsters

Effect:

When this card is Synchro Summoned successfully, your opponent must immediately discard 1 Monster Card from his/her hand with the same level as one of the monsters used to Synchro Summon "Zeus Particle Cannon". If he/she cannot, inflict 1000 points of damage to his/her Life Points. If all of your opponent's monsters are in Defense Position, this card inflicts Piercing Damage. This card gains 1500 ATK during each of your End Phases. If this card attacks, reduce its ATK by 1000 after damage calculation.

Lucky-Summon Scenario '1

Chaos End Master Summons Saterlite Cannon and you have generic level 2 macihne (let's say Mecha Bunny or something).

You -1 for the Synchro, might hit something to discard, otherwise get lolburn.

After that, it's a mediocre piercing beatstick with no protection, Smashing Ground it. It isn't even able to make a worthwhile attack on the turn it's Summoned - I'd much rather have got D-Arms, Stardust/TRA & Mecha Bunny or Cata & Sat-Cannon.

To support Satellite Cannon, it has to be something I'd actually use in a Satellite Cannon Deck - this doesn't do much other than beatstick, which D-Arms covers fine, making it outclassed by generics and useless. Pretty much toilet paper if printed. The only upside is that it's Honestable, but I'd still only use it as a filler, even in a Sat Cannon Deck.

I personally find the Synchro materials ridiculous. Sure, a deck with Satellite Cannon is likely to involve materials like the card requires, but not only does it require three materials, they're a bit specific, but they're are quite a number of possible combinations. Why it needs 3500 DEF is beyond me, but okay. However, it lacks the common ability that most Satellite cards have that prevent them from being destroyed in battle against monsters up to certain levels. Of course, with it usually having 2500 ATK by the time you end your turn when it's first summon, it would be unlikely to run over.

For your first thread in 37k posts, I'm surprised to see you chose a Satellite Cannon support card, as I found it's usage in the anime quite appealing.

To cut him some slack, Quillbolt works perfectly for this purpose.

But overall, I agree with what has been said before: I don't really see any reason to run this card.

Considered Quillbolt, but didn't mention it because it complicates advantage since the Summon of Quillbolt is technically a +1, but usually a +0 in practice because you had to dump it somehow.

Idk...seems strong..1500 each turn' date=' which is perma' attack.

It has bladedge, and make the opponent discard.

Idk...

It has no protection and is likely to require annoying amounts of setup. Nine times in ten, generic synchros are a better option. Outclassed and UP'd.

When this card is Synchro Summoned' date=' your opponent must immediately discard 1 Monster Card from their hand with a different Level than this card's Synchro Material Monsters, or take 1000 damage.. If all of your opponent's monsters are in Defense Position, this card inflicts Piercing Damage. This card gains 1500 ATK during each of your End Phases. If this card attacks, it loses 1000 ATK after damage calculation.

Pretty much as Griffin said. This thing's not useful. For 2 Materials, I'm calling AOJ Decisive Arms first. Good idea, though. 7/10.
