Friday Night:

 

Get called in to work, so that sucked. Get home and mess around on WC2010 for a little. Get to bed around 3 am because I was watching The Hangover.

 

Saturday:

 

Wake up and shower, then go to bank to cash some checks. Get to the store early, and play around with my friend. I 2-0 his Machine deck, but lose a match or two against his BW deck. I get some trades in and end up buying a Revived King Ha Des and a Doom Kaiser Dragon.

 

Pairings go up:

 

Round 1: Ben(Flamvell Zombie Synchro) vs Nick (Level Eater Monarchs)

 

Pre-Match Thoughts: Darn, why did I have to get paired up against a friend. >: (

Game 1: He sets up for a big plays, but I summon Firedog and take away any hope he has of taking it.

 

Game 2: He gets his stuff out. I top deck rekindling and go nuts, getting 2 synchros off. I win fast.

 

I look at the time, We spent 10 minutes playing the match.

 

After the match his banana-head(different guy) was trash talking about how his pokemon are so awesome. I ask him if he wants to play, he backs down. I lol'd.

 

Record: 1-0(2-0)

 

Round 2: Ben(Flamvell Zombie Synchro) vs Nhan(Gladiator Beasts)

 

Pre-Match thoughts: Damn, a team mate D:< Nhans a pretty cool guy.

 

Game 1: I Mind control his Laquari, and Synchro Summon into Stardust. He doesn't have an out.

 

Game 2: I brain control his Equeste and go into Stardust again with Flamvell Magician. He gets it off the field, but he wastes so many resources getting it off the field, that I can just beat him down.

 

Record 2-0(4-0)

 

After the match, he wants to do a deck video on my deck. We do it, but we might have to re-do it(for quality purposes).

 

Round 3: Ben(Flamvell Zombie Synchro) vs Peter(Terribad Monarchs)

 

Pre-Match thoughts: How'd he make it? The kid(he's like 12) is terrible.

 

Game 1: He makes so many -X plays I take it quickly.

 

Game 2: See Game 1.

 

Record 3-0(6-0)

 

After the match, I have a wicked bad head ache, and every little kid is by me, screaming. >___>

 

Round 4: Ben(FZS) vs Bill(Monarchs)

 

Pre-Match thoughts: >___> He always takes forever to play.

 

Game 1: I gain advantage and he can't do anything.

 

Game 2: He gets back to back monarchs. but I make smart plays and pop a Rekindling to seal it for me.

 

I relax, and try to get rid of my headache. Doesn't work

 

TOP 8: Ben vs Bill(round 4)

 

Game 1: I beat him down w/ Stardust + Colossal Fighter turn 3. Nothing he can really do.

 

Game 2: He Tuner Schemes my SDD. I draw Magic Cylinder, and set it. along with P.Turtle. He summons Giant Rat, Stardust runs into Magic Cylinder, and Rat bounces off P. Turtle. I brain control, play Rekindling and go nuts. I take it.

 

Record: 5-0(10-0)

 

After Match thoughts: Wow, I'm undefeated. :D Gotta Keep it up.

 

Top 4: Ben vs Pig Boy(LS)

 

Pre-Match thoughts: Wow, we haven't played in forever. Should be fun.

 

Game 1: I mind control his f/d aurkus and poke him with a Goblin Zombie. I mill BTH and Star light road and hand him back Aurkus. He attacks over my goblin zombie. Some more stuff happens. I have stardust dragon out, and torrential and call. He played Beckoning on my SDD attack, to dump Guardna and get back a JD, Celestia, Wulf(only monster he could have chose to drop JD), a Herald of Orange light and Honest. He Plays JD, activates effect, with priority. I chain Stardust, he chains Herald, I chain Torrential, then Call to get back Goblin Zombie. I won after that.

 

Game 2: I poke him to death with Trooper as he drew TERRIBLE.

 

Record: 6-0(12-0)

 

Top 2: Ben vs Russ(Blackwings)

 

We decided to split, but play it out to see who "Won"

 

Game 1: He outplays me and I lose.

 

Game 2: I make a few misplays when Sychroing. He top decks the Kalut for game.

I'm considering splurging, making myself a new deck, and going to my locals.

 

Except that my classes end at the same time that they start, and transit is an hour if I'm lucky.

Our touraments are very different.

 

Prize support is given out to each player.

 

2 dollars store credit for each player that doesn't make it to top 8. Then the top 8 get 3/4 dollars usually. Top 4 get a %(i forget).

 

6$ entry fee.

To each his own...

Our locals run like 70% tier 2 or lower, so if you're running tier 1 and know how to use it you'll probably top 50% of the time.

My locals only has like 20-ish people, but way, way too many run tier 1 for my liking. Right now it's nothing but Machinas, Blackwings, GBs and flamvell cats.

 

You did way better than me, I went 3-2 and then top 4d for a free pack (we've got bad prizes as well).

To be fair I'm not entirely sure that what I posted earlier is true, as I haven't been to my locals since before the release of ANPR. When I was there, though, the meta was pretty much BWs with DSF and only like 2 people ran it. The rest was stuff like GBs, CBs, Plants, and random.

I can tell you one thing, i'm getting damn sick of machina and machina gadget decks. It's like every tournament is nothing but a machina gauntlet! I mean I can beat them most of the time, but christ i'd like to see some more variety. I guess that's what happens when it's by far the cheapest viable decks.

It was like 2:30 am, after I watched the hang over, when I was making a side deck. I didn't like Return mained, so I was like "man, i need something in its spot, i'll be lulzy and use magic cylinder. "
