~Wright~
Our language is seriously f****** up. Botanically speaking, a strawberry is not a berry. Neither is a raspberry. Yet somehow, an ORANGE is a berry, a TOMATO is a berry, and WATERMELONS are berries. Botanically speaking, a berry is any fruit with one ovary and lots of seeds, which makes the definition of a berry almost useless. English muffins weren't invented in england, And a guinea pig doesn't come from guinea, nor is it a pig. Discuss. ^_^
Death Metal
Who cares. English is awesome like that. We can call an object whatever the hell we want..... and we can get away with it too! >=D
Cin
That's because English (And the various English spinoffs) is actually a mix of languages, they probably got messed up in translation.

Cloister
So you think just because the word is in English its meaning is not the same as in like, lets say Swedish. If a strawberry is not a berry in English, I am 112% sure it's not one in Swedish as well.
Tentacruel
English fails.
Amethyst Phoenix
English is a good language, and is the best and most accurate way of pin pointedly expressing thoughts and emotions. Anyone who whines about English being bad needs to remember they're being god damn hypocrites, considering they're typing in it right now.
Fizzy™
English fails. Then what language are you speaking now with everyone on the forums?English is the most common language and is universal. It may have some flaws to it but it still doesn't fail. Cloister
No. I think it's fail. I think English is a really important language. Since it's the largest language (well, Chinese is), but English is the most spread language thinking conrinent wise thus making it the most important. Fizzy™
Yeah without English we'd probably be typing in Chinese right now
Cloister
Or we wouldn't be typing at all. Needs to be thought of! Anyways, English is important and has infuenced A LOT of other languages.
Fizzy™
Loads of words in English come from Latin though. And If England didn't speak English then we'd be typing in whatever language they did speak in because they had a huge empire once and spread their language to other parts of the world. Dark
Any language that differences "me" from "I" is not worth learning... Any language that makes you change an adjective for masculine and feminine nouns is not worth learning... Why does it have to be "guapo" and "guapa"? Why can't it just be one for singular and one for plural? <___< You don't have that bullshit in English. The boy was pretty. The girl was pretty. The cats were pretty. The dogs were pretty. The adjective always stayed the same, the only thing that changed was the verb, to fit the plural of the last two sentences.
