An archtype based on having no hand to pull off effects.

 

While people may believe these guys are overhyped, others believe they are rubbish.

 

I personally think they are overhyped, but an archtype based around +1 (or more) cannot be bad.

 

Infernity Mirage: +1

Beetle: +1

Archfiend: +1 or more.

Necromancer: +1 or more.

Launcher: +1

 

and these are the only ones that should be run, nobody was like this with Jenis in Lightsworns.

Ahaha, people say that they'll just chain waboku and then vortex next turn, right? Well, surely if someone summons Mist Wurm, and bounces your 3 S/Ts, and you chain waboku, a good player will hardly over extend and summon another 3 mist wurms will they?

 

Also, people also think that Infernities are merely about syncing out of your arse and wasting resources, while this could be the case, but from what I've found, infernities will be better, playing conservatively, just setting up and then exploding.

 

anyways tl;dr: they don't suck.

I personally find Infernity Norleras Turbo to be quite amusing, dump Infernities into grave along with Norleras, play Plague or A Feather of the Phoenix and put Archfiend on top, summon Phantom of Chaos...nuke hand and field via Norleras, special summon Archfiend through draw, search Launcher...enjoy.

I honestly believe that Infernity will be one of the best decks. Thinking solely in terms of the OTK is short-sighted and dismissing all their support as rubbish is idiotic. I've tested a lot of the Infernity support and found that focusing on the OTK over my preferred strategy led to severe inconsistencies. You push too hard and while it's likely you'll win, it's a bad idea. I prefer a more conservative style of using a lot of chainable spells and traps or cards that are rather versatile and can still support the Infernity theme.

 

While on first glance, Infernity decks seem to be "dump everything, revive tons, Synchro like there's no tomorrow, kick opponent to the curb", that's a very unwieldy strategy. Infernity have the potential for explosive plays, but they should not explode with the force of a nuclear bomb. Nukes can hurt both sides.

 

Infernity Archfiend is an amazing searcher. Infernity Beast is meh. Infernity Dwarf is an awesome card, but it *gasp* requires you to aim for a more conservative strategy, rather than summon 4 Synchros in one turn. Infernity Reloader is meh. Infernity Beetle is an amazing tuner. Infernity Guardian is an EXCELLENT shield. Infernity Destroyer is one of my favorite cards. Infernity Death Dragon gives the theme the ultimate weapon in Synchro form. Infernity Necromancer is an amazing revival tool, as is Infernity Mirage, albeit Mirage is a lot more difficult to use, especially if you end up with multiple copies. Infernity Avenger is a nice stall or can be used as a flexible tuner.

 

Infernity Launcher is critical early on, and topdecking this spells the way to comebacks or swift deliverance of defeats. Infernity Inferno is nice for thinning the hand, deck, and grave setup. Infernity Break is sweet destruction for a tiny cost. Wave-Motion Inferno is amazing for ditching your hand when you need to. Infernity Force...is a bit optional, but a Sakuretsu Armor + Monster Reborn for Infernities can't be too bad.

 

The nice thing about Infernity is they have excellent effects, but require committment to the theme. You know, the way themes SHOULD be, IMO, anyway. I just really like the mechanic and feel the benefits and downsides make the theme workable.

Feel free to drop me a line and send me a PM any time you'd like to prove me wrong. I really would like to be disproven, since I think it's been a long while since I've seen Konami use a good archetype and I've yet to duel anyone who plays it this format.

Screw Zero and Climber, I just want the Infernity Death Gunman. I would kinda like it if Zero and Climber were released as well, but mainly I just want to be able to pull a Dirty Harry and/or say "Honestly, I've forgotten how many monster cards are left in my deck."

 

Now, more on topic:

I THINK THEY SHOULD BAN INFERNITIES MAINLY BECAUSE IT'S ONE OF THE BESTS DECKS.

 

But, now, seriously, I think these Infernities will make it to at least Tier 2, maybe even Tier 1. At that point, Konami will severely damage it by limiting Archfiend, Launcher, and Mirage. I'm sure they would hit all three in some way. Heck, they might even semi-limit Infernity Beetle or hit Infernity Avenger.

I like their handless idea though. While susceptible to field destruction, all its resurrection cards seem to make Infernities recover quite quickly.
