Megasonicfan
One of my friends at school runs a flip effect/synchro return kind of deck, and it's beginning to annoy me. I can't think of any other way to beat it than to run either Light of Intervention or Skill Drain, but he runs enough spell and trap removal to make those only last a turn or two. The deck is pretty much built to counteract the kinds of decks i run (Inti-Quilla loop and Rituals) and i'm stumped. Some of his main cards include X-saber Airbellum, Junk Synchron, Worm Apocalypse, Penguin Solder, and Golem Sentry. And lets not forget that he uses Thought Ruler Archfiend as a primary synchro target. Any ideas on what could hold against it other than Blackwings? Yankee
How slow if your deck?Easiest way to do anything is to make your deck faster than your opponents.
Megasonicfan
I'm not sure how i can make rituals and Inca's run any faster. Rituals are slow to begin with, even when you use things like Dark Grepher and Foolish Burial to dump Djinns. Rituals are also very susceptible to the returns he uses. Inca's dont really work for the same reason. I'm looking for a different type of deck altogether so i can finally put this guy's ego to rest. Great Unclean One: VK
Do what I did to combat EBI decks. Make a deck so Oppressive and slow, that once you get your trump card out, they've wasted all their cards that usually kills it.
Guest Zeonark
If this guy is running a Fast Synchro deck, run a faster deck or make something involving Royal Oppression.
Megasonicfan
It's not really that fast; it's the fact that he can oppress my field like mad with Worm Apocalypse and Penguin soldier, giving him time to bring out the synchro's later on. Guest Zeonark
Then run something insanely fast to overpower him so he can't stall. Like Blackwings or Lightsworns.

Megasonicfan
Then run something insanely fast to overpower him so he can't stall. Like Blackwings or Lightsworns. ehh... i prefer to stay away from those archetypes. it's kind of an 'I win' deck style' date=' no skill required in my opinion. that, and i can't afford Blackwings and Lightsworns.[hr']Run Machina Gadgets and wreck him. theres another kid who duels with us who uses Machina Gadgets, but he isnt the brightest of the bunch. maybe i should borrow it from him. *devious thoughts*
Guest Zeonark
If that's the case, run: Run Machina Gadgets and wreck him. or Flamvell Synchro.

Yankee
Uh..Srsly, just run something other than Rituals...They are slow...If ya wanna piss him off..Make one of two things:1. A INSANELY fast synchro deck. Like his, cept..faster (you see the comedy there)2. Make an insanely slow deck, one that will cause him to run through all his synchro's, which is a problem with quick synchro decks. You can just make your deck such a slow stall deck..FINAL COUNTDOWN FTW
byak
He'll probably lose to Countdown.
Guest PikaPerson01
I don't see how you could have a problem with Worm Apocalypse. I'd think Ryko, Lightsworn Guy would be worse. As for the deck, just make something that hits hard and fast. It seems like any deck that can keep a monster with 1800 or more attack on the field would give your friend trouble. Off the top of my head, Flamevell Cat runs Flamvell Firedog. Likewise, anything that summons monsters quicker would hurt. Colossal Fighter has more attack then Though Ruler Archfiend. Also, Shield Crush, Nobleman of Crossout, Mind Control (take his f/ds. Synchro them). The sky's the limit! But it seems like a ritual deck would be the worst kind of deck to face him with, since none of your level 4s could beatstick over Golem Sentry and any rituals you summoned would be at the mercy of a well timed Penguin Soldier, leaving you completely out to dry. Flame Dragon
Run more monster removal. Flip monsters can't do anything if they can't get flipped. Pika gave a nice list of cards that can do that. Also as Pika said avoid summoning cards that can get really screwed by getting bounced back to your hand. Yea they may help when their out, but if they only get out for a turn it's not worth it. You might need to change up your deck if you want to win since Inti-Quilla loop and Rituals both seem like they can easily loss to the bounce effects keeping you from being able to do much. Megasonicfan
the kinds of decks i run (Inti-Quilla loop and Rituals) There's your problem. :S I know that these decks are terrible against returns, thats why im asking for help in finding a new deck style. the only reason i use these now is because they're pretty much the only ones i have. bakupenguin
you can run them well, just llok on youtube for an inca deck.

-Griffin
Frog Monarchs sound like a good match-up. Them bouncing a Monarch just gives you another +1 when you get Treeborn next turn, and it doesn't really use a backrow which Apoc could hit. Expelsword
Run Blackwings and play 3 Black Whirlwinds at once... A guy did that to me one time, he had 3 monsters out instantly even when I Rose Dragon'd he STILL had so much card advantage that I lost... seriously though... rituals are slow next to synchros

Tortoise Kyle
Try using cards that have effects activating outside of the field, like your hand or graveyard.
