Monztor
Well not being a plant sucks, but he's now searchable through cat, one for one, and rat among other things. Tributing dandy to kill one card and get two tokens.... Discuss?
Zauls
If it was a plant, I would run this in at least double. Cat Plants seem like an idea with this card in the mix, but IDK, maybe not.
darkwolf777
I don't think he'd hurt at all in my Solid Black Garden, considering its self-revival and RFG properties. I might use them myself.
Chaos Flame
Not a bad card, too bad its not a plant though. I like its Special Summon effect...
Professional Duelist
Apparently it's useable in the damage step. HIpHUrray.
darkwolf777
Apparently it's useable in the damage step. HIpHUrray. If that were true, it would go against all other rulings I've generalized for similar summon effects. Taken from the Q&A that I answered recently (lolselfquoting): "Monster Effects which Special Summon themselves with a Trigger cannot be activated during the Damage Step (Green Baboon, Revival Rose, Van'Dalgyon, etc) unless said Trigger must occur during the Damage Step (say for Gorz or Tragoedia in response to Battle Damage)." Unless you can find other cards that rule against this, I find this pretty solid. I don't like TCG BKSS rulings, which is what i'll call this if that ruling is indeed true (This is a TCG-only card so far after all). I myself do not believe Snyffus' effect that Special Summons itself can be used during the Damage Step and stand firmly on that. (Sorry, i'm just an OCG-ruling whore)
Professional Duelist
I just found Kevin Tewart http://www.pojo.biz/board/showpost.php?p=17875237&postcount=6 Even if rulings point against him. He's Kevin F****** Tewart. Though I say he's wrong. Gonna email Konami.
darkwolf777
How is Snyffus anything like Botanical Girl? Botanical Girl doesn't Special Summon herself. x.o; This should have similar rulings to Green Baboon (as I listed above with the other monsters that Special Summon themselves), so whoever Kevin Tewart is, I believe he's wrong :< I also believe it can miss the timing if the last thing was not the destruction of a Plant-Type monster(s). Edit: Not trying to call you out or anything, Professional Duelist, since none of us really know how new cards will be ruled, but based on similar effects that all seem to follow that trend, I find it safe to assume that it can't be Special Summoned during the Damage Step, that's all... or if I were a judge, that's how I'd rule it oh ho ho. inb4darkwolf777isanarrogantjerk ;;

Sephiroth_The_Legend
i wonder if some Plant based decks, i.e Quickdraw.dek would somewhat test this...the mill from Rykos and such could always help.
Professional Duelist
I emailed Konami LOL. Hello Duelist, This is correct! Snyffus works like Botanical Girl, and it’s effect to Special Summon itself can be used during the Damage Step.
darkwolf777
That's surprisingly fast, Took them two weeks for me to receive a response from them. Still, I call this BKSS since it would be the only card that doesn't follow the rule I've generalized for cards with effects like this. You can even compare its self-Special Summoning effect to Revival Rose >_> Revival Rose's Self Reviving EffectIf a Level 5 or higher Plant-type monster you control is destroyed, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. Snyffus' Self-Reviving EffectWhen a Plant-Type monster(s) on the field is destroyed while this card is in the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from the Graveyard Only difference is that the Level of the plant type monster is specific to Revival Rose, but Revival Rose CANNOT be activated during the Damage Step. So kindly explain two things US Konami: 1) How is Botanical Girl anything like either Snyffus or Revival Rose? Botanical Girl searches the Deck; she doesn't Special Summon herself from the Hand or Graveyard at all. She doesn't even Special Summon at all. 2) Why is Snyffus' different from every other Special Summon card that cannot be activated during the Damage Step? In any case, there's no reason for Snyffus' to work during the Damage Step and I simply call it "BKSS". I think US Konami just sucks at ruling the cards they create themselves. >_>; I would like a forwarded copy of the email they sent you, then I might ask them myself why they rule it this way since it makes no sense at all, if you would please: [email protected] Sorry for standing against it so much, that's just how I am, I'm stubborn when I think i'm right, so I want to find out why and what's so special about Snyffus compared to other cards. :o

darkwolf777
Thanks, I messaged them, and they better eat up and read the whole thing and give me a clear answer. I asked them two things: 1) In what why is Snyffus anything like Botanical Girl? 2) Through its card text only, Why can Snyffus Special Summon itself from the Graveyard when other cards with similar effect that Special Summon themselves cannot (inserted examples, etc). Basically, the email is kinda large, so they better read it >:3c In any case, I asked two things of them which is basically A) Rethink and possibly change the ruling since it makes no sense or B) State that it can be Special Summon during the Damage Step in the card text because it makes no sense otherwise.
